@@waytogowaynes666 my guess is a very drastic change in his life that was a long time coming and he had been waiting for it whether or not he knew it. Apparently Phil Collins had a big fight with his wife and was really pissed off when these lyrics came to him.
Can you believe that Phil never thought that he could sing SMH. Talk about a humble talent, wow. I've seen Phil and also Genius countless times and was never disappointed, not even a little. I use to go sit outside the stadiums 3 or more hours before just to hear them warming up. A lot of times you'd hear them playing hit songs from other people, and even better was when it was something that they hadn't released yet. The soundtrack to my life and memories is full of Genius and Phil Collins songs for sure!
Very well done. I think he should have gone with a similar longer version for the album and released a short one as a single. This song sets a mood, it needs to be long imo
HOLYSHITBALLS...FINALLY!!!! someone made a version of this song "close enough" to what im wanting..Good god the other extended versions suck!! IF you would redo this one in a super HD version it would make it perfect..
I played this video on one monitor with the volume turned up. On the other monitor I watched the Miami Vice movie on mute starting with the last big shoot out scene. It meshed together quite well. I loved this song when it came out. Great for late night driving music.
i can't think of any other song that changes it's pace any more powerful than this. time stands still for it, must stop everything i'm doing just to live it again. thanks
Phil Collins: Damn that man made a lot of the music I used to listen to on 91X in San Diego working late nights back when this came out. Yeah, heard it on Miami Vice as well with the Calderon sequence but when you're alone and working late nights this song could get to you.
Wow, this is the closest thing to what I would expect of an extended version (not mix). I still feel it needs a bit more and the change is good but I wish I had the chops to conduct my own version because I have some ideas I'd love to employ to extend this even longer. Kudos to the producer! Well done indeed!
Saw him live in Sacramento and when he did this song, we were all blown away. If I remember correctly, there were two sets of drums he played just to make sure we got the full affect!!
You are absolutley right. Beside the 12" vinyl version, this is the best remix l've ever heard. Although this one is almost better, l think. The song is quiet but still powerfuel.

The perfect song dedicated too those who lost their Spirits in the Miami nights during the 80s Miami Vice days, for those who felt it as night fell in Miami who witnessed the human destruction of lives this song we still play during Miami nights everything goes silent you have to play it over and over in your head as you remember the times. There's a strange mystique about this song the 80s in Miami nights Vice nites🌌🌌🌌 Too put the feeling in perspective it felt like in biblical days when the mist fell from the sky and took the lives of the first born male child in this case women too.
