When this song was released I was dying from cancer. I used to listen to it while on chemo...but I'm still here and still listening to this great song.
Tudo ke Phil Collins fez pra mim onde ele toca vira ouro Amooo esse homem e estamos em 2024'eu largaria tudo pra viver ao lado dele independente de qualquer coisa ❤Amooo ke chega a doer ❤
Walks out on stage like the boss he is, sits down on the edge of the stage just hanging out, then causally walks up to the drum set and hits us with the most iconic beat drop in music history. Just another day at the office for Mr Collins.
@@poseid0n703 I believe only Phil plays the solo. At least that's how he did it when I saw him in concert. The other drummer plays the concert while Phil concentrates on singing and also playing the piano.
Wow. Much respect to this guy. To sit in front of a huge crowd and casually belt out vocals then go back and sit at drums right on time and nail it. That's what you call TALENT.
Seen so many great gigs at Knebworth over the decades. I would like to be laid to rest at this venue as always came Alive with the music and the girls in front of the stage. Bliss.
I've performed with many great musicians over the last 50 years but I'd give my left "funsicle" to share a stage with Leland Sklar, even if only for a few numbers! My first gig as a lead singer was nearly 50 years ago at the tender young age of 15, but man, could I *ever* belt 'em out back then! The lead singer of a band called The Tempests heard me singing along to one of the other bands at the event (grand opening of the Nepean Sportsplex), then explained that she had terrible laryngitis and asked me to fill in for her that night, and voila...my first gig! My first gig as a lead guitarist was 9 years later, and things just kind of "took off" after that. I never "caught a big break" or made it onto any great records, but I played for an awful lot of crowds in Canada and Europe, and had a ton of great times along the way. I could drop a ton of famous names I've shared a stage with, but Leland Sklar? Man, that's some *serious* rock royalty!
Heck Lee still had a bit of black/grey on his head at this time - the guy is like the Michael MacDonald of Bass players - he is literally on every thing and still tours w/ Lyle Lovett on both his “big band and small band tours”
he looks like he just finished his 8 hours in the office, then proceeds to blow the world with outstanding vocals and drumming, simplicity IS the ultimate sophistication
30 jun 1990, 25 years ago. To me, this concert meant the zenith of the pop-rock music... and also the day the music died. Just compare the music created for the last 25 years before then with that of since then.
Jacky Boy frang35 Daryl and Chester Thompson(on drums)did the last Genesis live tour see if you can find a copy its bloody awesome 👌👌👌 Regards music lovers!
Always thought it a shame that Daryl takes so much shit from the Genesis camp for not being Steve Hackett. Admittedly Hacket was a tough act to follow, but some "fans" act almost like Daryl disgraced the music, by daring to follow him, or such. IMO, Daryl is a very talented, versatile player, and seems like a really nice guy, too. Anyway, great version of this song -- I love the live numbers where Phil begins out front singing -- then moves back to the kit, to beat the tar out of the skins! The Genesis song "Fading Lights" is another excellent example --- if you like this tune, I recommend giving Fading Lights a view! Epic tune.
Phil Collins is just a genius! He sings pitch perfect, walks around like there is nothing else, steps up to the drumset and hits the drums like a king. All while keep singing. A real Master!
Admire this man, just casual clothes, no fancy dancers or flashing lights,, just a simply priceless voice,, a Huge talent unrecognized by the music industry,, where are the rewards and acclimation!!!!!!
Phil Collins' performance of "In the Air Tonight" is simply stunning. From the iconic drum fill to the haunting vocals, Collins delivers a masterful performance that captivates the audience from start to finish. The energy and intensity of the song are palpable, and it's clear that Collins pours his heart and soul into every note. This live version is a testament to his incredible talent and the enduring power of this classic song. It's no wonder that this performance continues to be a fan favorite and a defining moment in Collins' career.
I've listened to Phil since I was 20 and now I'm 67. But this song still feels the same. An that is awesome!! Will love his music till I die.. and hey hope your cancer is gone. Always be good
@@emmacarrosse9230 except it totally is "in the air" as in airborne. Someone infected who sneezes, coughs, or breathes in your direction and you can get it.
ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMER / ARTISTS EVER!!!!!!!🇺🇸🎶🇺🇸MANY THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED INC THE POST!!!!!!🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Ya gotta love the man's talent, so impressive that he walks out dressed like he's there to sell you a used car. No pretense of dressing like a rock star, no Mick Jagger wardrobe, no silly pretense.
@@catstevens1995 i second your reply. I’m ‘95 too and I fucking hate it. The music that tops these days are all the same and so boring. ‘80s has so much variety, it almost makes me want to go back

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord And I've been waiting for this moment, for all my life, oh lord Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord, oh lord Well, if you told me you were drowning I would not lend a hand I've seen your face before my friend But I don't know if you know who I am Well, I was there and I saw what you did I saw it with my own two eyes So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you've been It's all been a pack of lies And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord Well I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord Well I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord, oh lord Well I remember, I remember don't worry How could I ever forget It's the first time, the last time we ever met But I know the reason why you keep this silence up No you don't fool me The hurt doesn't show, but the pain still grows It's no stranger to you and me I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord Well I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord I can feel it in the air tonight, oh lord, oh lord Well I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord And I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord I can feel it in the air tonight, oh lord, oh lord Well I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord, oh lord I can feel it in the air tonight, oh lord, oh lord Well I've been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord, oh lord
It was written during a difficult time in his marriage, but that is not what it is about. Here is Phil with the story behind the song in his own words: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k05t7GhvMW0.html Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight | The Story Behind The Song
@@hankharty9673 I see what you are saying and he does claim there is no meaning behind the words. What i would say, is that he wrote the song in his empty house after his wife took his kids and his dogs. I clearly hear pain among other things in this mans voice when he sings this song. Perhaps its subconcious perhaps it truly has nothing to do but I use my jugdement it this is what i see and hear. Nothing is about nothing. He wrote lyrics that perhaps he has not taken the time to find their meaning, but they are not jiberish.
And in another 10 years we'll still be talking about it, but that's the problem of modern music... we're gonna forget about the songs that come out today in 3 months time
Happy Birthday Phil Collins! Been a blast enjoying your music, and what an inspiration you are with your music and Genesis. Wishing you all the best and to everyone a great year! Honestly, what a great track this is, along with the others!
did u you see the one from 12 years ago. with the blue lights on the stage and the lang beard bass player?. haha sorry didnt know how to tell which one. but to me that one is the best. and its the same guitar player. but if u have seen it and u like this one more...he its all subjective...just maybe i thought u should see it if u havent. anyway. have a good day and this song will never die.
not all singers have that facility to sing sit, walk and finally go play an instrument and everything goes so perfect, Phill was and remains a master, like all that band of musicians, if you only hear the song without seeing the video seems to be the track recorded in the studio. great!
Hi, Thanks for viewing my videos I appreciate it. This love is so overwhelming, couple with the satisfaction it brings to my heart ♥️ I can't keep it to myself no more. Since i have achieved a lots from my fans. Your comments and constant support has brought me this far and I bless God for everything. You can share your feedback with me via my personal email: philipdavidcharlescollinslvoco@gmail.com Thanks
Sadly he is retired now but if he was still doing concerts in the air tonight would not be as great because he can no longer play the drums but his son was doing it in past 5 years Phil would just stand behind gis microphone buy when Phil was younger it would have been fun to go to one
This incredibly powerful song, I always ask myself what such artists are made of. What delicate soul you must have to be able to create such impressing music!? I could adore such talents!
I grew up listening to this great song and his other songs as my older brother used to pump the volume up high on his big ass speakers. It’s May 2021 and I ssstill love this song 😊
He just sits there on the stage casually with thousands in the crowds. He does it naturally with his voice + musical talent. Have I got admiration for Phil Collins.
This song gives me the goosebumps man, wtf... Phil's voice, the guitar riffs, the synths, the bass line, they create a perfect atmosphere man. I don't know any other artist who makes song with such an atmosphere.
