When Disney was interested in making stuff for boys and girls, and had pretty positive messages and stories of boys becoming men. I feel that message is so important, but now it feels like everyone is afraid to even touch the idea of boys becoming men, which is just so sad because I feel boys need a good message of becoming good, selfless, honorable men!
I lost my father when I was 15. This song hits so different when you’re a young man trying to learn the basics to life in general. I remember this song from Tarzan when I was little and man it means so much to me now. 25 years old now and every step I take is for you dad. Thank you for all you taught me
I'm sure you're father is watching over you now, looking down on you with pride and admiration. My son was born 5 days ago, I dedicated this song to him. Much respect on your journey from boy to man.
Mikey Knuckles very much appreciated brother and I hope he’d be proud! Impossible to be the man he was but I’m damn sure gonna try. Congrats on your lil man! He’s already got a great start having a dad like you brother! God bless you and your family! Y’all take care much love and respect from Tennessee ✌️🇺🇸 Again, thank you for that man, means a lot
@@mydixienormous5746 thank you bro. I appreciate that. Much love and respect to you from Western New York. God bless you and your family as well. Keep your head up.
the smash bros noob i know exactly how you feel. I’m sorry for you loss man.. Just know you have so much life to live so might as well live it to the fullest for your father! I know he would want you to and when you’re grown up and look back like I do, you’ll be so proud of yourself. Don’t lose sight of the person you really are. Be the person your father raised you to be and wear his last name on your back like a professional athlete on the field! Keep your head up hoss, you’ve got him watching over you always! Now go and kick ass like he raised you to do! Stand tall young man, you will realize that one day you’re walking and talking just like him. I highly suggest keeping yourself busy, I personally started going to the gym about your age, it helped me focus on my body and most importantly my mind. Made me feel so good about myself in a time where I was hurting. God bless you bro and don’t ever quit pushing forward for him! Take care man
The lyrics hit different now. Thank you Disney for all the memories. God bless Phil Collins for creating one of the best soundtracks for an animated movie.
Listen to this song when you're a kid, fast forward to when you're an adult, listen to this song again and you'll realize that you made the journey from boy to man ;)
Man, I just turned 19, on the 19th and this was literally my childhood growing up. I'll never forget even playing this on the PS1. How time flies. Sad to see Disney don't make movies like these anymore. This is the song of my life.
I remember ; younger, I liked the song because I liked Tarzan. But now, I'm able to appreciate the song for its true qualities, that's one of the good aspects of growing up !
I can not agree more. Now I'm grown. Thinking about all the decisions and journeys taken from boy. to be here now. the man I see when I look in the mirror.
Oh, the power to be strong And the wisdom to be wise All these things will come to you in time On this journey that you're making There'll be answers that you'll seek And it's you who'll climb the mountain It's you who'll reach the peak Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be Though there's no one there to guide you No one to take your hand But with faith and understanding You will journey from boy to man Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be In learning you will teach And in teaching you will learn You'll find your place beside the ones you love Oh, and all the things you dreamed of The visions that you saw Well, the time is drawing near now It's yours to claim it all Son of Man, look to the sky Lift your spirit, set it free Some day you'll walk tall with pride Son of Man, a man in time you'll be Son of Man, Son of Man's a man for all to see
4 months ago I was doing heavy drugs and I was becoming a raging alcoholic with the dream of joining the Army. I got in a detox program got cleaned and I passed the Asvab Test. I'm shipping in 3 weeks. This song really hits hard, now that I'm in the right path. I'm 28 but it is never too late to become the person you wanted to be.
Bro this is my exact story I can relate to you and every aspect, the drugs the Alcohol, I’m now in the army going on two years im 27 years old. Keep pushing bro I’m proud of you and I wish you best of luck in your new journey!!!
I’ve been out of college for 8 years and only this year have I found the answer to what I truly want to do with my life. It’s been a long road with doubt, fear, and battling a number of health issues. However, I’m so happy I’m finishing up my second semester as a post-bacc student and working as a scribe.
Bruh, same. I never even went to college, and it wasn't like I was ever gonna do it anyway. What with all the school shootings at the schools. No thanks on that one. I'd rather live.
I dedicated this to my son on the day he was born. From the moment I knew I was gonna have a son I knew this song would be perfect for him. Deep down in my heart I always knew he would grow and be a great young man walking tall with his head held high.
And then the 2016 Woke-pocalypse happened and since then, everything male, from our societal achievements to our fan culture to our _very existence,_ was deemed "toxic".
At the age of 27, I suddenly remembered this song and decided to play it on RU-vid, and the nostologia hit me like a train. My entire life went by in the blink of an eye, and I still find it hard to accept. Then again, after reading other people's comments, it seems like everyone believes that life is too short and that you will never have enough of it.
Starting school, a new job, life in a new location, etc, this song applies to all of those. It takes time to grow but as long as you are determined, you will prosper
This song hits home, one day when I become a father I wanna be able to guide my son through life and be there every step of the way with unconditional love.
As a kid I always remembered this song so much and still do. When there came the transition of Tarzan from a kid to teenager to an adult especially at the end, the last few seconds of showing off I just imagine the possibilities of what I'd look like if I finish my goals I'm anything precious to me. Also I imagine I'm Tarzan there animated swinging and jumping with that leg strength and flexibility😅, feels epic since Tarzan has achieved his goals.
My son just turned 18 this year January 1, this song reminds me of him through out his young life to see you're child grow into the next stage of his life is blessing ❤❤
Tarzan was always in my top three favorite Disney movies of all time. The music was a big contributing factor but this song it’s so different now that I’m 32 years old married, and a father 😢
When my dad left for his last military deployment, I was afraid of letting my disabled mom and my entire family. My life became so hard and challenging, but this song has boosted my confidence and taught me to be a man for the whole family. I finally got a job and I’m proud of myself for not giving up and now I’m a man!
Something that I love about this song is the depiction Tarzan goes from boy to man and influences that guided him, both directly and indirectly which reflected the environment around him. Something that gets overlooked is the contribution that BOTH Kala and Kerchak gave to Tarzan that made him who is. Despite Kerchak's contempt, Tarzan still idolized him and wanted nothing more than to be acknowledged and accepted by Kerchak. It's important because although Kala was active in his life and taught him how to love and be compassionate, Kerchak still taught Tarzan what it meant to be brave and strong. Nothing can take that from Kerchak, not some backward thinking giving the praise to Kala or his own refusal to accept Tarzan. He set the example, and Tarzan followed it. And it's examplified in the song as he uses his strength to shelter Kala from the rain and the restraint to defeat a dangerous opponent like the snake without abusing his power to overwhelm the creature. He's a blend of both his mother AND his father.
Man, I'm 19, about to be 20 soon and this was literally my childhood growing up. I'll never forget even playing this on the PS1. How time flies. Sad to see Disney don't make movies like these anymore. This is the song of my life, literally, and the soundtrack. The lyrics and everything, always bring tears too me espically with the powerful messages, and all I've been through. Phil Collins, my all time favorite legend, the guy who helped me throughout my life.
I am currently studying in japan and working part time jobs. When I really tired and want to return my country I listen this song and it makes me not to give up and fulfill my dream. This song and I'm still here from Treasure planet are my only favourite song because both describe my current sitution.I wish many foregin student from different countries can fulfill their dream too.Don't give up guys
Honesty, my all time favourite movie since my childhood. Legendary soundtrack by Phil Collins, The Cast, the storyline, and the characters. Till this day, this movie and soundtrack brings me joy and a bit of tears to my eyes. If you asked me to describe this movie, I couldn't fit it all in this box. This film once out carried many childhoods espically with my generation, and some of these music literally give sentimental meaning to my past experiences, and life. Pure legend of a film.
I never listened to the lyrics when I was a kid and I wouldn't have been able to appreciate them even if I had. 20 years later this song blows my mind. I love it.
Kent Gargantiel No... You seem a little bit off there. Satan is definitely my Buddy. The old times are over, A new era has begun. *An era of fucking Fire and Demons and Vulcanoes!*
I was 12 years old back in 1999 when this song was out. Tarzan helped me out a lot on how to become a man by Phil Collins songs. I hope men keep believing in themselves.
Literally just turned 19 years old, on the 19th, and I just have to say every year I always listen to this song since its my childhood when I was growing up. I honestly can't believe how fast time passes, I'll always remember playing this on the PS1 with my twin brother legit so many memories, I literally remember it as if it was yesterday. It's honestly so sad to see that Disney longer makes shows like these & how fast time passes. Whenever I listen to this song, I can't just help but remember the countless memories I have with it even shedding tears when I hear it. Truly amazing, and my childhood song. The song of my life and how its described. 💙🎉
“You will journey from boy to man son of man look through the sky”! I always liked this song, especially the these lyrics. Hell I often sang this in middle
Boys should be taught these words as they grow so they become young men. And these young men should be nurtured into grown masculine men of wisdom, strength, and courage. Like they used to be.
I used to listen to this song when I was younger in other to get strengthen before my exams. Now I make my students listen to it before their own exams.
I wonder why Tarzan is my favorite movie when I was a child, growing up it is my go to movie and never a doubt I will watch it every other week. Time passes, I'm already 25 years old, I don't know how should I do things especially to my future or my life and when this song pops up on my recomm, I suddenly remember the movie and I don't know how to tell it to you guys but I just broke down for a good 3 or 5 mins like I cried with wide mouth open. I just remember how happy I was, how excited I was growing up and I remember that Tarzan never gives up. Thank you Phil Collins for this music, I just released my entire sadness, I never knew I needed to cry like that.
I had this song stuck in my head when I was drafting my personal statement for med school when I wrote “coming into this journey with an open mind”. As a nontraditional post-bacc, I am on a journey that is marathon not a sprint.
This song gave me so much encouragement when I started college in 2016. I had been struggling and had so many challenges during my college days. Hell, I had been on academic probation one time but I didn't give up on my work. And now 6 years later, I am about to be an official college graduate this Friday. Thank you, Phil Collins for this wonderful song
The day has come. Once a student and now a teacher truly it was understood with faith and understanding I had journeyed from boy to man and now I raised my head up tied the loop. The journey has just begun the visions that I saw the time is here to claim it all. Son of man look to the sky I have lifted my spirit and set it free a son of man a man for all to see.
"Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand." That hit deep. You gotta walk your own trials down a path you are taking, and it is definitely yours and what you do with it.
My favorite part in the song during the beginning montage when Tarzan is struggling to climb a tree and almost falls but Terk manages to grab him and pull him up showing she's a true friend. (it's even more heartwarming when she smiles at him showing she's there for him no matter what)
Candace Munguia I will agree it's a fantastic movie with a fantastic soundtrack, but come on, we all know the lion king is the best Disney movie ever with the best soundtrack ever. That's an undeniable fact
Honesty, This is my all-time favorite track from such an iconic film from my childhood, and what a Legendary track by Phil Collins. I literally can't describe what this song means to me, and the soundtrack in general, as I couldn't even be able to fit it all in this box. How time flies though. As a kid, I always looked at this song as an inspiration after all I've been through, and the lyrics age like fine wine as time goes and I still take it too heart, till this day, and it helps me out through time, and brings many memories, and helps me keep going. How I wish I could go back, and relive those innocent days, or make change but we all go through life like a flash. I think the best lyric, and the one that I take too heart the most would be "O Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand But with faith and understanding, you will journey from boy to man." The lyrics to my life, with all I've been through, and as day by day goes, It gets better and better. Thanks Phil, Always my icon, and glad there's so many people that still listen to this underrated track these days.
Phil Collins got that magic gold, no matter which movie he is responsible for the soundtrack is a banger, Tarzan and Brother Bear hits hard "I'm on my way" live rent free in my head and pops at random times lol
I remember comeing home from school and putting this movie on, every kid had that Disney movie they watched a million and one times... This was my movie
Wow beautiful I was a kid when Tarzan hit theaters when your a kid you don't appreciate it. But me as a 35 year old man now I had a wonderful childhood thank you Phil Collins and to the late great Walt Disney. For this masterpiece.
I always come here for a listen but honesty, my all time favorite movie since my childhood. Legendary soundtrack by Phil Collins, The Cast, the storyline, and the characters. Till this day, this movie and soundtrack brings me joy and a bit of tears to my eyes. If you asked me to describe this movie, I couldn't fit it all in this box. This film once carried out many childhoods espically with my generation, and some of these music literally give sentimental meaning to my past experiences, and life. Pure legend of a film. How time flies though. On Tuesday, the 19th of April, I'll be 20. How I wish we could all go back in time to live these days. "Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand But with faith and understanding, you will journey from boy to man." The lyrics to my life, with all I've been through. The greatest soundtrack of all time.
