Today my son was born and then passed at 3 days old of hypo left plastic heart syndrome in 2001. This song came on the radio when me and my wife drove to and from children's hospital in Cincinnati and I believe in my heart that my son was talking to us and to comfort us with this beautiful song!! I am so sorry for your loss. I was a child when I lost my younger sister. Whenever I hear this song I think of her and how they want us to be strong for them.

My husband left when my son was 3 wks old in 1990. I became strong. My son and I danced to this song when he was a toddler then when he was 26 and got married, I was talking to family and all of a sudden this song came on and I looked to the dance floor, and my son stood there with his arm reached out to me. The most beautiful moment in my life, I balled in his arms. Music and love transcends all space and time. 💜
I call this my 2nd daughter's song. It was thought she would not survive after she was born. Plagued with different problems, but against all odds she survived. And I'll look at her in her crib and say to her, "for one so small, you seem so strong". And that became her song whenever she was sad or she cried. Her sisters refer to it as Joelle's song. Today, she's almost 18, over 6 feet tall and praise God, very healthy. Thank you Phil for the joy of this song. This one's for you Jo.

I started singing this song one day while I was pregnant with my son and he started kicking like crazy, so I would sing everyday. Now he's 17 months old and it puts him to sleep. I love this song.

I started singing to my oldest before he was born. He's 3 1/2 now, every time he hears it, he stops whatever it is he's doing and looks to me waiting for me to sing it to him.
What I get from this song is that "The parents are telling their kid that they will be in their heart forever! Our children will never see it our way but in the end they will when they grow up! Children always think they know every thing but in reality we their parents have already lived through what they will be going through and this song say We Will ALways be There!

In 1999, when this movie came out, I was BLOWN AWAY. I may have only been a kindergartner, but the music, the story, and the characters had me hooked for years to come. This song was the first song I learned to sing word for word, and to this day I have won karaoke battles with it. Love Phil, and love Tarzan! Enjoy retirement, Mr. Collins! You've earned it!

Once again, A track written by the Legendary Phil Collins in such an iconic film and soundtrack in my childhood, that applies to me deeply, I literally can't describe what this song means to me, and the soundtrack in general, as I couldn't even be able to fit it all in this box. How time flies though. As a kid, I always looked at this song as an inspiration after all I've been through, and it has always helped me out, with all the difficult paths I had to cross on my own, without my family, but knowing they're in my heart. This track brings me many memories, and the lyrics are so iconic. Glad it's seen as one of Phil's best works, and it's still listened to today. With all the things, I lost in my life, and had to leave behind, This lyric hits me the most, 'Cause you'll be in my heart, Yes, you'll be in my heart, From this day on, Now and forever more~." Again, Thanks Phil, Always my icon, and glad there are so many people that still listen to this underrated track these days.
Phil Collins was one of the first solo singers (post genesis days) I was introduced to as a child, at least he is the one I remember I liked the most. I even stole a CD of his from my mom and burned it out listening to it so much. I remember I was so excited when I found he was singing in Tarzan and I was only 9. I will always have a special place in my heart for his music.
Honesty, my all time favorite movie since my childhood. Legendary soundtrack by Phil Collins, The Cast, the storyline, and the characters. Till this day, this movie and soundtrack brings me joy and a bit of tears to my eyes. If you asked me to describe this movie, I couldn't fit it all in this box. This film once out carried many childhoods espically with my generation, and some of these music literally give sentimental meaning to my past experiences, and life. Pure legend of a film. Phil Collins is one of a select few singers who sounds fantastic whether in a studio version or live. That cannot be said of a lot of singers and/or groups. A lot of the good ones cannot deliver live as well as they can with all the "bells and whistles" a studio version can provide. He is one remarkably talented individual. Thank you for this post.
Had the pleasure of seeing Phil perform this during his farewell tour back in 2004. One of the greatest concerts i've ever attended & i've been to many. Glad to hear that he is thinking about coming back out of retirement. Sure hope he does becuz he is about as good as it gets.
