this is very common alot of parents realise the mistakes they made when their kids were young and try to be totally different to the grandchildren like a 2nd chance to put things right ( in this instance i know tommy is his stepson not his grandchild ) ❤

I wish the writer of this scene had the confidence in his own work to let the characters hug it out properly without someone (Kat) coming in, ruining the moment and then start calling them names. It's like the production team hate the thought of any tenderness between anyone on this show!

No he isn't. Alfie has always been a father to Tommy since the day he was born and he never treated him differently to Bert, Ernie and Cherry, I know he left the boys in early 2019 but he was never a bad father to any of his children and will always love them unconditionally and do the best for them.

Only a Mitchell knows how to comfort other people's kids. First it was Deni. Now it's Tommy. Before that it was Jay and Lola. Phil has always been there for the kids. Louise and Ben. With Ben it was difficult. But Phil always cared for Ben the best he could.

He was a shit dad to Ben, however tried doing everything to help him, he had Louise with Lisa and he slowly started to become a better dad because he has a daughter and he calmed down a lot, then he adopted Dennis Rickman Jr, and he was pretty much the best dad to him, and now he’s got 4 step kids with Kat being Dermott, Zoe, Bert, Ernie and Tommy. Although he doesn’t see Dermott and Zoe, he treats Bert, Ernie and Tommy really well, Phil’s become a better dad and I hope he develops a good relationship with Albie and can actually co-parent with Sharon instead of them getting back together and leave him with Kat.

He has every right in the world to go for a joint custody because Kat currently is too stupid to think about the long-term damage Phil will inflict on the boys and the toxic environment they will grow up in.

he has no right. he hadnt spoken to them for 4 years before phil and kat's wedding. he comes into their lives whenever he feels like it and doesnt want to deal with the hard stuff. he only wants the fun side of parenting and when he wants it. And you're forgetting the dangers Alfie has put Kat in. He scammed a gangster and Kat had to go on the run for a year across europe all on her own. He set fire to their house with her still in it.

@ThetaSigma1965 Alfie did not know that Kat was in the house when he set the fire and once he learned that she was there he quickly went to the house to save her life, and he looked after Tommy and the boys since the day they were born until he went on the run in early 2019. Thug Mitchell may be all smiles and nice around Kat's kids right now but if they got married and when the shit hits the fan he well treat them horribly, shouting at them, abusing them at some point and asking them to "man up" like he did to Ben and Denny and how it turned out for both of them!! Kat is such a selfish woman for putting her own needs over the boys' and not thinking straight about the long term damage that will inflicted on Tommy, Bert and Ernie in the toxic Mitchells' environment.

Kat isn't Kat anymore!! Since she's been with Phil she's completely disappeared!! Although at least both Kat and Alfie have had long term relationships with Mitchells!! (Remember Alfie and Roxy 10 years ago and Kat was still around) So it's kinda like that just with added drama! Phil Mitchell drama that is!!
