Ka pai korua . Some of us play this tune at the Moutere Inn near Nelson NZ at the Thursday night Folk session .But you play it with such finesse .Good on you guys .
Why is Aly using a cheap old factory made (probably Chinese) violin? Luthiers like myself are disappointed when we see this. Cremona has outlawed the importation of these instruments.
Good players will make even an inexpensive instrument sound magic. I have one "good" flute, and all the rest are "cheap crap". I use them all, because each one sounds different. I reckon Aly simply thought the sound he can get from that fiddle suited the tune at the time. Or maybe, like my flutes right now, some of his alternative fiddles are in for repair or adjustment.
@@peterwhite7428 Aly Bain is a Shetland fiddler of immense talent, and who are you? it amazes me that you feel the need to make an issue of the instrument he's playing in this set. It sounds grand, proving that the musician makes the music, not the critic.
@@dolcefarniente8768 don’t be amazed. I know all about Aly Bain. Who am I? I am a life long professional violin maker and musician. I have won a gold medal for violin making in 2010 in Cremona Italy. My question was not intended to provoke you to such a level of outrage. I greatly admire him. Please lighten up
