Over 30 years ago, my friend's hearing was restored during a youth conference while Phil was leading worship. Of course it was the power of Jesus but it was partly because someone like Phil allows himself to be used for Christ.
Yes I had a contractor at or around the same time Stanley who defeated alcoholism by worshiping to Mr. Phil on cassettes while roofing and painting homes all around Detroit. Personally it really is wonderful to behold Phil's ability to be gods light in a song. Very uplifting these days as we all know Jesus is coming soon. All I can say us... thankyou phil! They said they never heard drumming like that. But my teacher was the bus driver, Mr. Buddy Rich as he took my ass to school! He is with the lord now and I miss him awesome!!! I was jail in Pima countyjail and if you. went to church 2 wks in a row you got a caset player 2teaching casets and 2christian music ones 24hr lock down is a long time after 6mths I was saved and Phil Driscoll's muisc gave me the spirit of praise inspiring me to search the Bible end if it wasn't for that I wouldn't have been saved praise God and thank Phil Driscoll but given me the spirit of praise that brought me to my knees only God could have workout a being a fugitive of Justify their time plan like that oh by the way a Christian group got me out on bail
That is an awesome story Tony, people will listen to someone who has been there and done that. God will take a mess and turn it into a message. Who ever was running that jail sounds like a gifted person. I thank Phil for his constant love and praise of our God. God has gifted him, but beyond that, Phil seems to have continued to strive for excellence as a musician and as a Christian. And to think that I saw him at World Harvest Church SEVERAL times. Always that same humble, on-fire-for-Jesus kind of guy.

OMG, I have loved this song for so long. I think of my sweet and wonderful Japanese wife every time I hear it. I am so lucky she came into my life 25 years ago. She is my match made in heaven. There is no sense of religion here, just two humans made for each other and very happy together. Then I read here that it's all about Jesus. Our love has nothing to do with Jesus, thank you.

In a group of about 20 I suddenly sang this song as Worship to The Lord. I'd always loved it & bought Joe Cockers version. I only just found out 2 days ago Billy Preston wrote it as Love song to & for Jesus The Spirit knows all things & I just went along with Him, yet He never revealed the story behind it until now to me. Isn't God just So Wonderful & So Beautiful. And of course I remember Billy Prestons songs.
