Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

"Shoe Dog " is maybe one of my favorite books because it's not like you're reading a simple autobiography it's a masterpiece because every word have been chosen wisely and it's amazing to imagine a guy from Oregon can conquering the world with the idea to convert peoples to running. I'm proud to say I love Nike till' day one but when I read the book, I love Nike even bigger and the founder at the same time ^^;)

I worked for Nike for five years and my memories are seeing Mr. Knight eating alone in the cafeteria and running alone in the track that surrounded Nike headquarters. Usually a CEO will have a bunch of yes men following them around. I read the book and it was very good. I gave several copies of the book to my friends and they all thought it was great.

I'm two thirds of the way through his autobiography and it's a riveting read! He writes well, just like you are having a conversation with him. As he mentions, he got his start importing shoes from Japan as these could be produced cheaper than in the US (at that time). As for all the comments about where the shoes are made now, I can only say that companies will locate work to where it's cheapest. Not only in the shoe business. And I think their obligations are to ensure a safe working environment for the workers and to contribute to those communities. If they were forced to hire local workers, their cost base would rise to an uncompetitive level and they might become financially unviable.

Please watch the documentary " Nike sweatshops behind the swoosh"I won't judge you yet as maybe you truly are unaware of how disgusting if a human being this man truly is these people due everyday and make ,$1.25 a day they are children as well as adults living in streets with sewers for ditches and have they management and goon security best people and kill people for talking out against the company they have barb wire surrounding the factory so they can escape. It's a work camp not good factory this man is literally a dollar 25 away from being Hitler. Truly disgusting and the documentary includes him in it refusing to talk about the sweatshops you should see the look on his face when the guy told him that's what he was there to talk about. A face that knows everything and has paid for it to be well hidden. If you care for human life you'll never say anything positive about this monster again I promise but if you have lost your soul and let the corporate kings brainwash you you will find a way to excuse him of his crimes against humanity and at that point please just stop and call Hitler a true gentleman Aswell because no human would see what this documentary shows and justify it it truly changed my looking Nike 100%

Currently reading Shoe Dog. Basically, Nike started because a guy thought it was a good idea to sell Japanese shoes to make money - not because he was an innovative shoe designer or obsessed with creating the best shoes for athletes or people in general. I think Nike has grown into what it is today almost purely because it just so happens to still be around, and started so long ago. Think about it - Nike is the brainchild of an accountant, not a scientist, chemist, or shoemaker. Makes sense when you think about their reputation with labor and their lag on sustainability (especially in regards to the materials they use). If the balance sheet still holds up, and the buyers don't ask too many questions, then the product rolls off the production line the same way it always has - nothing changes.

so let me get this straight Phil Knight started a shoe company with a 1)$1000, 500 which was given to him by his Running coach 2)It was the Running coach's idea to use the waffet iron to mold the rubber sole of the bottom of the running shoe 3)Manufactured with the help of the Tiger shoe company in Japan 4)the name "Nike" was the idea of an employee 5)The Nike Swoosh was designed by a Girl who he only paid $2 an hour & gave her 500 shares of stock 6)It was Tinker Hatfield who designed all of the great looking shoes at Nike(Air Max), including Air Jordan's (3-14) 7)it was Sonny who told Phil & Nike to invest in Michael Jordan when Phil thought it was ridiculous idea because the contract was too expensive 8)Tinker Hatfield's idea to use the visible air bubble in the shoes conclusion: Basically Phil Knight just stood there and watched himself get lucky as fuck
