They def gods strongest children 😂still I cant believe why anyone would do that, probably they also sell drugs and pschedellics which makes banging bucks💸
Charlie, thank you for the real America, take care of yourself in these areas, you are a friendly and kind person showing life as it is without embellishment!🤝
This is why I buy stock in tobacco and alcohol companies; all the flowery, progressive, rhetoric in the world will never change people's base behavior.
@travelvideoz Lol what are you talking about, the most dangerous countries, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Jamaica, Honduras, Guetemala. They all dangerous as fuck
@@tommystreet1121 Are you suggesting that waste management isn't servicing these areas? If they aren't, there is no one to blame but the criminals who run that "community"
@@flutebasket4294 In Baltimore waste management comes once a week and trash is still pretty bad. In Philly it's worse. So Im thinking there they can't be coming every week. I was in North Philly last month and people got huge piles of trash just sitting on the corners.
@@tommystreet1121 The reason there's trash all over the place is because the inhabitants throw trash all over the place. It's really that simple. Stop making excuses for these scumbags
While I certainly disagree with sending money to Ukraine and Israel, no amount of money will ever help these people. The problem is far deeper than that....
Yeah, I’m from Russia too. Most of Russia been like that 20 years ago. And here you can still see bicycles stored in the streets and pretty neat cars and buildings dyed and cared for nicely. No graffiti. Russia is all fucked up with graffiti even in the central parts of cities, you can’t store your shit outside (unless it’s really shit), houses been dyed last time like 80 years ago and the cars are mostly trash. But yeah, no garbage, thanks.
Use to cop in Philly and It's hard for me to watch your Philly vids. For some reason I have an unhealthy love for the realness and chaos of the city. Im 30 minutes from ny but moved to Ne Philly. The tight one way blocks make the city so personal when you walking down the sidewalk. From the homies hustlin, ladies workin, to the mothers tryns be parents... You exist In ny but you interact with Philly. Idk why but Philly just feels raw and unexploited with ny feeling so corporatized. Never been to Baltimore but I hear its similar.
Right. It’s a real city full of life. If anyone ever romanticizes the Gritty NYC of old; it’s still here. That’s what makes our hoods livable; the people. This city is alive; despite the environments. It’s full of life; that’s why C comes back to it over and over; like a morbid fascination. I dare say there’s no place like it in America.
I just moved to Philly from NY (granted, I live in Center City, not in north Philly) and I definitely agree with you - there’s a rawness to Philly that is largely gone in NY, with the exception of parts of the Bronx and central Bklyn. And even in those areas the narrowness of Philly streets creates a much different vibe than NYC.
This is not poverty, this has nothing to do with money. You don’t need money to take pride in your home and your community. I grew up dirt poor, and we took EXTRA care of what we had, not less.
I went to Philly 3 times as a trucker. I saw so many stolen chopped cars and trucks abandoned on the street. Even 2 stripped tractor trailers. It was sketchy.
Hello! I am happy to watch your videos. It's nice to see that people with not very much income still try to make their houses beautiful and tidy. You had a video where you shot from a copter, I wish there were more such videos.
No, they absolutely do not try to make their houses more beautiful. They throw trash everywhere. The entire north Philly is indistinguishable from a landfill. Signed, Philadelphia resident.
Not true... most cities did not choose row-housing or stick with it thru the 20th century. Thank God they did not. Most cities have still great areas that never declined and areas that did, but city made efforts to keep it clean of debris and remove the worst blight. Just seems Philly did the worst job of it and stayed building row-housing thru the 20th century vs other cities..... Go into real estate sights and type in homes for sale. Many cities have much better housing stock and streets that are clean and green.
@@DinDooIt Who said something about clean? I'm talking about density, lack of space. S.F is dense but it's not nearly as gritty looking as Philly, Baltimore and those smaller NE cities like Camden, Trenton, Newark and the others. And L.A is definitely clean compared to those NE cities. People from the NE, The South and MW have hard recognizing what "the hood" in L.A
@@DinDooItLA has skid row, the rest of it is fine I drove through Compton before and saw nothing but decent homes with grass. The Northeast definitely looks older, grimier
I keep telling people, Philly is the most ghetto city in the country. Period. I’m from ATL and we have some rough neighborhoods but Philly has EVERY city in the country beat
And yet our murder rate is low compared to other cities; not even in the top ten. It’s dense and it’s old which is what you see. Many equate density, especially southerners, with ghetto, cuz people don’t have a yard and stuff but that’s just how we live and what we know.
I’m a plumber in Philly I work in shit holes all the time. Some streets I only work till hour before sunset… those two tents are still there I did a house up the street lol
My father grew up off of Franklin Ave, and my Mom off of Front street... both sets of grandparents had beautiful row homes, that my cousins and I played outside of... this is what happens when no-one gives a shit...Thank God my parents and grandparents never witnessed this third world shit!!!!! However, there's condos going up in Fishtown for 300k....
This is so true! We used to spend the summer in Philly with my grandma. She lives in a nice part of Philly. But when we’d go to church…😳😮!! Graffiti and trash EVERYWHERE! And those houses looked JUST like what’s shown in the video. Just awful! And that was in the late 80s! Crazy!
@Koopyspappy No it's not. Philly about twice the size of Baltimore in size and nearly 3 times the population. 80 sq miles and about 590K people for Baltimore, and 149 sq miles and 1.5million people for Philly
@@JWalker1976a The person I responded to deleted their comment because they either realized they were wrong or were lying lol. They posted a comment saying Philly was 10 times bigger than Baltimore.
They don't need anymore help from the government. That's the problem at hand. They need to get off their ass and clean up their own city. This is just stupid living like this!
All the way live from 215. Philly keeps it real, man. It's a beauty and beast. A lot of history in that city. Blight, too. Hope you bumped some Schoolly D while eating a tastykake during your visit 🍻 Edit: You navigate those exceptionally narrow streets rather well. Nice driving.
As I watch videos of various cities and the decay of each of them, I cannot help but think how lucky I am. Retired, with my wife of 44 yrs., living in the country on our 18 acre homestead, not being able to see any of our neighbors houses except in the winter when the leaves are off the trees. We get to enjoy sitting out on the deck, watching our horses grazing in the pasture, wild geese on our pond, our dogs at our side and the cats wandering in the yard. We also see deer and turkeys on a regular basis. Our house is 1/4 mile from the rural road that has very little traffic so it's quiet, peaceful, and uneventful...just the way we like it.
You are misinformed. The assigned monetary value of the munitions and weapons we donate to them, much of which is about to expire, has already been spent. It costs money to store these items, and to destroy them once they expire. The billions you speak of are spent replacing them with modern equipment for US forces, and is spent in US factories to pay US workers. Why don't your MAGA politicians tell you this? They need you to stay ignorant and afraid.
I was looking at that part of the video too and saying it can be restored by redoing the sidewalks and street , renovate the empty buildings, and turn the empty lots into parking since the streets are very narrow.
It's the ruins of a once great civilization. In 100 years they'll be living in roofless debris piles wondering who built these mighty megaliths and how did they manage to stack bricks 20 feet high - giants perhaps.
By the way, keep the Soviet-Russian life hack. When the snow melts in spring and the garbage accumulated over the winter becomes visible, we go out on clean-up days (in our language, "subbotnik", from "subbota" - Saturday). We gather (for free on weekends) to clean the places where we live and work with our own hands. At work, they give out gloves, brooms, garbage bags, and we clean the area and around it. The same is practiced by many residents around their apartment buildings. We chalk the curbs, tree trunks, everything becomes very beautiful and festive (just finishing by May 1). By the way, there will be much more people who want to clean up if, after cleaning, they get out the barbecues together and fry a barbecue :)
@@silwen9412 You seem to think I live in Philadelphia? Pfwahahahhahaha, "at it again"? You mean like you are at it again in 2022 as in 2014? We offer you a way out as well; give up your aggressive ways, make peace with your neighbors, pay restitution. For God's sake; clean up your politicians. And get indoor plumbing. And then, eventually, why don't you try democracy? Right now you live in your own filth, but like you said, you are used to it. Every accusation from someone like you is an admission.
It's NO surprise. WHEREVER you find THOSE people, you'll find trash, no maintenance, laziness, drugs, despair and dystopian living conditions... despite TRILLIONS handed out to them. SMH
Looks like south central or close to it, I spent many a night walking around those hoods 20 years ago hooking up with hot Philly girls, don't think I'd try that now. To a guy from Detroit like me I was blown away by how everything is so compacted there, just designed to pack as many people as possible within a given area. Those of us used to backyards and strips of grass on the streets found these entirely missing, so so dense and a true concrete jungle. The chicks were crazy about a guy from Detroit and I walked around like a king, now I'd be stabbed on the 1st block, but it was alot of fun back then. People out to the early hours of the morning getting buzzed, playing basketball or blackjack in the street, having a good time. Loved the water ice and cheese steaks, tourist attractions like Ben Franklins grave, the mint, Liberty bell and South St. I'm sure there must be some decent areas left but what a shame to see huge tracts of that city become a drug infested cesspit like that - Thanks Dems !
если бы такое было в Перми, то виноватого нашли бы сразу...Путин и его ставленники - воры, которые все украли. а тут...это другое, свободные люди и их выбор.
Hey Charlie its been awhile hoping all is well. Last time we spoke was when you were touring flint on saginaw and dayton st. Born and raised there until i was around 8. Now i see your in Philly just so happens now live in surrounding area just up from NE Philly Take care. Lost my son to heroin/ fentanyl out of Kensington 6 years ago. Like i said been awhile but love what you do!
Charlie I realize you a busy man but you just was here in Ct. for Bridgeport- will you please come back to New Haven? You were 20 min away on I-95! Been watching your channel since the earlier days- much respect- ✊🏽
Looks like mostly Kensington and Strawberry Mansion areas. The new mayor has recently visited both. Her slogan is "Safe, Clean and Green".... I think that we can say that she has her work cut out for her. But at least I give her credit for acknowledging that something needs to be done. Some small cleanups have started already. If she can clean up these places I will vote for her again. For now I give her 100 days to try and make a dent.
Move to Europe, that'll be Russia in the coming years. After they take over Ukraine then they'll be invading the neighboring country which I believe is Poland. they even mentioned trying to take back Alaska. So keep your fingers crossed you might get to live in Russia without even moving.
Did you know: this used to be a beautiful, safe city, with a thriving economy in the early 1950s? What the hell happend? I think you all know what happened. The ruling class-happened.
Makes me glad my folks didn't migrate to the north, during the great migration. Shid we own a 100acre farm here in central Georgia. But I do wonder at times what life would have been like had my great grandparents migrated to the north.🤔
It depends what you want out of life. This is one section of Philly and even in this impoverished section you have very quick proximity to tons of great things to do / high paying jobs / NYC, DC, etc. Sinply on the basis of having to drive everywhere (which is the most dangerous thing most Americans do every day), your rural life isn’t statistically that much safer than people living up here.
There are some very crappy neighborhoods in Phila, but for some reason ppl keep moving here 🤔 like the past 3 years or so I’ve noticed an influx of newcomers
The ghettos of Philadelphia are more immigrant neighborhoods, there are few Americans, immigrants love to live the way they lived in their countries of origin
Yet in 2024: All Jurisdictions within a 30-40 mile radius of Philly and Pittsburgh will vote Democrat. Definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
It's no St. Petersburg, Russia that's for sure. I've been telling people for the past 3 decades Philly is the dirtiest and most ghetto city and it's true.
