I caught people breaking into cars on my street on several occasions. In every case they threw it out. I reported a drunk driver who sped through a red light and smashed into an oncoming septa bus. That was thrown out. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Its no wonder these juvenile delinquents have no fear of repurcussions for their behavior.

You can arrest, charge, and sentence to life, nothing will change until a community reflects upon itself and says wait a minute, is it possible all those excuse and perceived reasons we’ve been using for decades may not be the cause, and then ask themselves what is it that we are doing or not doing that facilitates and perpetuates the violence in our communities that has bled outside of our community in many instances.

I presented to the governers office a proposal aimed at addressing youth violence. It went totally ignored. They benefit personally from the treatment of this violence more than curing the problems. Look at her, shouting out high paid suburbanites.

I got so emotional watching this I left Philadelphia in 2019 The crime was so bad, at times after getting home from work I couldn’t get on my block because they were doing a crime scene investigation CONES would line my block, also one day I walked to my front door and I see SWAT walking down the block, Thank you Mayor for making a difference

I'm tired of the speeches. We the people know what is going on and the root to so many issues not only in the city but across the USA. The agencies and representatives have been elected and hired to work for communities and the people. They have meetings after meetings, they are receiving funds and suppose to find ways to BETTER the community. If anyone have ever experienced losing a loved one to gun violence, have family or friends homeless, struggling with addictions, mental illness, etc. knows first hand what it is to deal with these entities that are suppose to provide help. If they truly care about the communities they are serving, EVERY neighborhood should have businesses that provide assistance to the community with jobs, housing, food, mental health, spaces for worship(whatever spiritual practice or religion you believe), etc. We are never going to get away from crime happening and why people do what they do. Everything can not be prevented BUT, we can make things better. These laws are so outdated and do not reflect with the times. Laws, rules and policies are not set by us but the people whom sit in these offices. We hope that we have voted upon a party that reflects what we would like to see and address to make the world better for everyone. I understand the news media report mostly tragedy because why else would anyone watch? How would there business thrive? They have an important responsibility as well! The communities most vulnerable, sitting in low income, poverty, homelessness and hopelessness surrounded by drugs and drug dealers, unhealed trauma, limited opportunities. People need to come together to find a better solution if you care anything about other human beings. People that care about their professions matter. We're not robots. Humans are complex. Nothing is a one size fits all. I barely watch the news and simply do my best with anyone that surrounds me and give back in many ways. I pray for the family that just lost their 14 year old teenager. It's heartbreaking. I pray for the betterment of this world. I do not have children, but the thought of my nieces and nephews being in this world worry me enough. Our youth deserves so much better in this world. So much. 💔🙏🏾🌿
