Thank you for such an awesome clip. My father worked for SEPTA’s Red Arrow Division in the 1970s/1980s, these trains have a special place in my heart with those memories as a kid in DELCO.

I liked the one showing the Sharon Hill and Media line trolleys back to back approaching Lansdowne Ave. I never minded whether I caught a 101 or a 102 because I could walk home from either just as quick.

I liked that you included the winter films, but it also made me sad - two of my classmates were killed by sledding downhill into a trolley crossing (two separate instances) My grandfather collected fares when the passengers boarded in the middle of the car and the conductor and driver were two different people. And I was a trolley crossing guard on the Media line (School Road / Garrett Road) in my own time. Loved old No. 81 & No. 73 especially. Beautiful trolleys.

Very nice. I've lived in the Philly suburbs pretty much all my life, though I was born well after these trolleys stopped running. I do, however, remember my grandmother telling me of how she'd take the trolley into the city during the 1950s-60s.

@@the8mmrailyard-vd6jd You're quite welcome, and thank you for sharing these videos. From what I was told (and have seen), one of the main roads in my hometown was only two lanes (it's now four), and the trolley line ran right at the road's edge. There's also a small railroad museum in the town next to mine (along this same main road) that has a switcher locomotive, boxcar, passenger coach, caboose, and Red Arrow trolley.

People who live in the Philly area will probably be able to identify more of these, as most of it is still in operation. But: 2:28 to 7:20 and 8:34 to end - the former Philadelphia & Western line from Norristown to 69th Street Terminal. 2:40 - crossing the Schuylkill River bridge from Norristown into Bridgeport. 4:43 - possibly the Strafford station, on the line from Villanova, abandoned in 1956 5:00 to 5:47 - the junction at Villanova, with the Strafford line leaving to the left. 5:04 to 7:02 - the "Liberty Liners," formerly Chicago North Shore & Milwaukee "Electroliners," bought after that line closed in 1963. 6:12 - Norristown bridge again. 7:03 - Norristown station and bridge.

0:48 to 1:20 looks like the Ardmore line down to County Line Road and then a shot at Ardmore Junction

These are wonderful scenes from the 1950s into early 1970s. Thank you! There are a lot of locations shown in these clips; I grew up in the area and can identify the locations if you wish; drop me a note
