Philip is one of if not the best blues guitarists of the current day! He speaks volumes of the greats. Hendrix, SRV, Alvin Lee, Robin Trower, Leslie West, etc, etc.. And more!!!
Been a player for 59 years. Watched a lot ... a LOT of SRV wannabees. This guy has so internalized who Stevie was, that he is. Took awhile. But I knew he would eventually show up. This guy can play and has made this style, his very own. Incredible player. Just wow.
13k views? Holy moly! This is one heck on an emotional performance, so thank you to everyone who has enjoyed and continues to enjoy this special video.
Philip is a gift to this world. Ever since I saw him for the first time live in 2007 at an MI show in Hollywood, I've been his biggest fan. I believe he is the best living guitar player. Sorry Joe B et al.
His performance is mind boggling....so much feel, a little bit less "rushed" than usual yet with so much virtuosity...one day I have to see him live no matter what 🤞
Wow. Thank you for sharing this, he is my favorite player at the moment, being a lifelong jimi and stevie fan, Philip Sayce is such a blessing, one of the best to ever do it
Outstandingly done , both Phillip & guys playing & the video work done capturing his epic playing. 👍👍 I still have the T-shirt from when he played in Southern California up at Julian Blues Festival ( sadly now defunct , as it was an annual event for almost 20 years) His likeness is on back of shirt , Strat over shoulder , walking alone down a dusty road. One of my Favorite players & shirts.
Michael, it’s always a privilege to see you and the guys play live and something I’ll never take for granted. You inspire me greatly. Hope to see you next year. Stay healthy and happy brother!
This guy is great. Only reason he doesn't get his props is because he is so much in the shadow of SRV. Not taking anything from him at all. I have the utmost respect. It's like saying Kobe was no good because he was too much like Michael Jordan...as if that is an easy task. I always check out Sayce videos. Absolute master of a Strat.
Love to see you tour with Chris Duarte!!!!…. That would be a Jam fest for the ages…Forgot 2 more, Eric Steckel, and Johnny Rushmore!!!!…. I think the earth would open up and we all be killed, but it be worth it.!!!!!
