Coutinho was one of my favourite players to watch I remember following him since he came to Liverpool, guy had flair , technique, and the whip on lock unfortunately it didn’t work out at Barca but he still got a CL medal
Even though we've won stuff since he left, I still miss him. Miss the samba flair between him and Firmino, favourite Liverpool player in recent history
I remember Coutinho when he was at Inter and could see then what a top talent he was, and I wanted United to sign in. In terms of talent and pure technical ability, Coutinho is prob in the top 5 or 6 players to have ever played in the premier league, even though he was only at Liverpool for 5 years and could be inconsistent at times, although in his last 2 seasons at Liverpool his level of consistency went up dramatically. If you watch him play he always keeps the ball close to his body and takes loads of little touches, and another thing, he usually takes the shot early, a bit like what Mason does now, so the keeper doesnt have time to set himself, and he can create power and accuracy in his shots without much backlift. I agree with Rants, man have been sleeping on Phillipe Coutinho for a hot minute! Proper baller!
Klopp told him that if he goes to Barca, Madrid or Bayern then he'll be just another player but at Liverpool he could become a legend. Not cool the way he left, pretending to be injured and all that but I wouldn't mind him in the team again! This comp shows why!
He was fortunate to win the Champions League with Bayern Munich. Although I'm sure he knows deep down that, its bittersweet because he didn't contribute much to their campaign, he was just a squad player. For 150m being a squad player in a UCL winning side is not too flattering.
@@yunfun.8893 if he carries on like this, he knows that anything he won after he left us would be 'empty'. He wasn't even needed to wins the bundesliga, la liga and ucl. When people would think about that season and the players, he would be forgotten, not even a cult hero nvm a legend. Wouldn't mind him back tbh if we get all our transfers done, a good cherry on top he would be.
He was signed during the Mourinho reign at inter, he was a find by the inter scouts, Benitez got in trouble because he tried to play him above other senior players and had to bench him because the dressing room would have turned against him, thats what marked the downfall of inter because they gave long lucrative contracts to players past their prime, player power rose and they couldn't rebuild the squad cause they were stuck with an aging and overpaid squad. Similar fate happened to AC milan although very different circunstances, thats what marked the decline of serie a during the 2010's
@@tkomolafe923 True, to me the serie a this season has been a better watch than the premier league and there is also a new generation of italian managers who want to play good football
The issue with him is not a free role but stamina.....he simply cannot play midfield....he works best in close spaces and closer to goal.....that is why he was amazing at Anfield and other similar smaller grounds and struggled in Spain as a majority of his matches were in the camp nou which is one of the biggest pitches in the world...also other factors like needing the team built to suit his own strengths rather than his strengths enhancing the system and also presence of system players in his position have unfortunately lead to his downfall and it saddens me because for 5 years he was with us at liverpool gave me immense joy
He was a Michael Edwards signing for LFC. Brendan Rodgers wouldn't have known about him. His peak years at LFC were under Jurgen Klopp. More of a creative force under Rodgers. Master blaster under Klopp.
Big Up Rants🙌🏽✴❗❗ Personally one of my favorite players to watch, mostly when he was at Liverpool, he just had a magical quality to him Hope he gets back to his best💪🏽
yo rants from a liverpool fan, respect man for keeping it objective. enjoy your channel a lot. can't imagine what would happen if you did one on gerrard, some will not be happy maybe but it would be very cool. by the way u have a nice gift of charisma from God, you should know that! subbed bro.
Top top baller....he needs to get back to his best...absolute joy to watch and id still take him back at the club now just to see cus if he can reproduce itll be crazy ...the prem needs coutinho
Coutinho was signed by managing director Ian Ayre upon recommendation from Rafa Benitez in Brendan Rodgers first season in charge of Liverpool, he came in January
The _Inter Milan_ years 06:58 13:00.. ohh boy!!! THAT was my guy Guy! Him + Oscar winning Jr. World Cup. The clips of him playing futsal as a my yute in 🇧🇷 are insane. When his wifey wanted to go Spain I was soo vexed 🤣
Liverpool had some proper ballers in certain yrs in 2010s !! Gerard was at the end but we had Saurez, sterling, studge, phillipe, Bobby absolute ballers its a shame some missed out on playing with each other by a year or so & that Liverpool we consider a selling club through them years!
Before he went to Barcelona and ruined his career, Coutinho was a beast at Liverpool. Incredible vision and can shoot from range and he's very accurate.
he was class with us at bayern. one of our best players during that treble winning season. I also thought he was good at barca. messi just held him back from fulfilling his potential
A real playmaker. Those last 4 months he had at Liverpool he was genuinely world class. Couldve been because he was playing for a move but man was scoring hattricks in the CL for fun with the armband on. Him, Thiago, and Firmino wouldve been a mazza. Bums like Bruno can't chat to man with these tekkers
The 6 mouths at liverpool he had before the Barcelona move I have never seen 10 as good in the prem. In 20 apps he had 12 goals 8 assists all comps non were pens as he wasn't a pen merchant like bruno
Klopp didn't want to let him go, if it wasn't for the nonsense Barcelona thing with South American players, he would have stayed and won the league, we could have beaten Madrid in the first UCL final with Klopp with Coutinho in the team!
Rants this is why I'm sooooooo angry at some of our fanbase that don't want him back at our club just because of how he left but we didn't replace him and Barcelona is literally giving him to us for free. Just imagine him and Thiago and Firmino playing together. Our fans always want to take the high ground and recent bias. His quality is priceless
Coutinho suits perfectly for pl... he looked lost most of the time in la liga...the technicality and tight spaces in la liga may got something to do with it
Laliga is a bit complicated tactically but the real problem was Valverde , he didn't know how to utilize him + he wasn't respected or accepted in the dressing room . I wish he came to real madrid .
In the words of Expressions Oozing; Chicken Phillip Zinger Coutinho. Thats all I have to say! The whippy against Citeh at Anfield in 2014!!!!!!!!! Fire flames, I lost my sihtttttt!
Man City Pep 2021 offensive "Revolution" was LiVARpool final season of Coutinho.. Same false 9. interchangeable roles + positioning. Fluidity++ De Bruyne couldn't do it _like this._ Gundogan when he took over is a closer comp.
Rants question: Hypothetically speaking... If PP left would you bring Coutinho in to play No.10, push Bruno into No.8 box-to-box, and get a good DM for the 6??🤔🤔
Thing with Coutinho is that his not a systems player, or a player that thrives in possession based disciplined teams like a Pep/LVG for example. Even though Coutinho is technically a phenomenal player, his a freestyle baller. Funny enough he’d actually suit Man United more than Bruno Fernandes because Coutinho at least has better shooting, dribbling and agility on tight spaces. If Coutinho had the high level football IQ of an Iniesta for example, he could’ve been elevated to that elite tier category. But Coutinho will forever always been known just as the flair player.
People tried to compare my Guy to _El Falso_ aka *Bruno Mask..* stat padder of the Century #18 by way Sporting Lisbon. Don't try manz on a Saturday nite. *Out of Order........*
If that's true that's embarrassing. Firmino is decent but nowhere near the generation of Brazilians that won the world cup. Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho, R9, Cafu, Rivaldo, Romario and Kaka...current Brazilians like Neymar and Marcelo also. Not sure why the Prem never had even one of the best Brazilians of those era. Robinho didn't do enough here either. But it doesn't matter anyway. Brazil is declining in talent as a nation, France is where it's at now
