I am going to get slaughtered for this. The work is very nice towards the end. Relaxed light balanced and in a nice rhythm. In the beginning he is walking around such that the horse is not on a clear circle. If you don’t stand still there is no consistent radius, no clear diameter therefore no circular circumference. I would agree to work on a small circle and make it larger and smaller lengthening and shortening the stride accordingly. I would also agree to com off the circle and do a straight line back to. Circle or a diagonal to change the rein. It appears that by moving around, sometimes the horse is not straight on the curved line of the circle but over bending the neck to the inside causing a misalignment leading the the outside shoulder loosing some of the impulsion and throughness changing the balance. Oh well, here goes. I’m posting this anyway. Tell me if I am wrong and if so why. Thanks.
Look how light and comfortable the horse is .beautiful outline .the time he takes to react with the horse at the end gentle quiet pats and talks very calming horse happy
It is also my way of begining the day. Although i have a privlidge of working with broken horses (bad way) this man whom i met several years ago in Hamburg still impresse me. It was Fintel (Germany) actually
I think a horse should walk 10 or 15 minutes before being asked to trot. Of course, this video may not have shown the entire session. And horses naturally are not built to go in circles so long lining is actually more natural and the circling should be limited.. This is what I have garnered from my many years of owning horses and reading books and seeing the damage done.
