Years ago the Lord sent me to McArthur's to hear Steve Lawson preach psalm 1. Before he spoke he said "I hope our shoes are off and are ready to hear the bush speak" I was a new person in Christ and was in total awe at what real men of God looked like and acted like ,God is soooo good it's impossible to ever tell.
In light of Christ's Transfiguration which is in the gospel reading appointed this up-coming Sunday, this verse in Philippians 3:8 also gives a glimpse of the infinite value of knowing Christ.

The Martin Luther he's talking about here is not the Martin Luther of the '60s the civil Rights activist movement . Martin Luther of the 14th century a reform believer. That exposed the Pope and the Catholics to be a bunch of heresy etc.
