The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are the military forces of the Philippines. It consists of three main service branches; the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy, including the Marine Corps.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines has been working on modernizing its military capabilities, but it still faces challenges in terms of equipment and overall capacity when compared to more advanced nations. The Philippines ranked 34th in the latest edition of Global Firepower’s Military Strength ranking. With a PowerIndex score of 0.4691, the Philippines fell by two notches from the previous year. This year the Philippine Military is ranked number 16 in Asia and ranked number 5 in Southeast Asia. For 2024, the Philippine defense budget is approximately 282.7 billion Philippine pesos, or around 5 billion US dollars, which reflects a steady increase in defense spending as part of the ongoing AFP Modernization Program.

@@TheMowst Do not use my edits for your content creation! You know that when you take from videos uploaded in shorts or part of compilation in unofficial phl military fanpage on fb. If you continue that i will strike all the videos that include my edit ( multiple times you use brp migual malvar launching edit) you for copyright that will take down your channel! I will not be sorry when that happens if you continue and wont take heed from using my edit. You are not the first channel i reported and penalized by youtube you cant hide behind abuse of fair use.

To Philippines,. We must secure our country/territory. We must acquire more air defense assets like radars, fighter jets, Combat Drones, anti-air missiles like Iron Dome, Spider Air Defense, MANPADS, 9 batteries of BRAHMOS or Midrange Missiles, Corvettes and Frigates, more FAIC, at least 3 Submarine, and 5 units of Maritime Patrol Aircraft with anti-submarine capability, at dagdagan din sana ang mga na acquire nating mga AAV's at mga howitzers, mortals at mga anti-tanks, RPG launchers and etc..

I agree with you bro, we can't defend our country if we don't have the adequate tools(weapons & equipment) to do so. But first, our National Government should stop their "Super Obvious Lip Service" support for the AFP Modernization. Yeah they're giving "fake support," it's outright unfair to our Soldiers & Reservist that they get "Table Scrap" budgets year after year, while Education & Infrastructure get "Gigantic Budgets" yearly!

Global Firepower is a good platform to learn about each country's military capabilities, their strenghts and weaknesses, nevertheless it's a good tool for defense & military enthusiasts & non-enthusiasts as well. Although information given here isn't that substantial or detailed, it's still quite useful to a certain degree, especially for those individuals who are planning to take-up this "interest or hobby" about the world of Defense, Military, Military History, Weapons, etc.

With the current leadership in the legislative department of the country, due to lack of support and budget for the AFP. We have seen that It is currently very hard for the AFP to reach it's needed capability to fully defend the Philippines (They just keep pretending that they support, but it's really not)😢

Yes the figure would be between 1.2+ Million Reservist upwards, but if I were you I wouldn't put to much faith in this, why? Because for all we know, a great majority of them MAY not even posses a RIFLE or any firearm for that matter. Not unless our National Government will seriously undertake a program to provide all of them with rifles and ammunition which will cost between $2 Billion to $3.5+Billion Dollars.(based on $2,000K to $2,500K per rifle cost, magazines & ammo)
