@@3ofEach As a teenager, it will pass. Children are simply not developed enough to understand how complex society is at this point of their lives. Eight year olds have only started to finish up with cognitive development and people do not mature fully until they reach 25. Children from poorer countries have to grow up quicker because they are forced to due to poverty and it should not be used to set an example. Everyone has problems in life, and just because someone has it worse doesn't mean you should act like someone with less problems is entitled.
@@hayley4032 well said I guess but I don’t just assume my children are entitled tho… I KNOW they are so I can 100% call them that. I have 6 kids ranging from ages 19-7. And every age acts the same way. It’s honestly the way most American children are and it’s disgusting. They’re mostly spoiled, entitled brats that are used to everything being handed to them.
@@3ofEach if you have six children and you claim they act the same, then it’s probably your mindset. How does a seven year old and a nineteen year old act the same? Even the two dogs I own act very differently let alone children. Maybe you shouldn’t be forcing some sort of survivor’s guilt on your children. Gratefulness is taught and I can 100% say that “oh look at these poor children In the Philippines so stop acting so spoiled” doesn’t work. I don’t think a child(at eight or nine for example) should be expected to know how to be grateful for being provided for. This isn’t about your feelings about their attitude. If you really want change, start saying “thank you for picking up those papers” or “thanks for being such great company” for a start. Now this isn’t a jab at you, I’m just saying that children tend to mimic behaviour. Where do you think they got that from? You seem like you’re blaming the children when I doubt they know much better.
Difference such as that broke arse mom still managing to pop out 3 kids not thinking about the hardship those kids would have to endure while the middle class guy using his brains to get ahead in life?
I feel so bad for the woman who does recycling. She is a good Mom doing all she can for her kids. Regardless if this was filmed yrs ago, or this particular slum is gone. This poverty does exist in the Philippines. Anyone with a heart would feel for that single Mom.
I really feel for this poor women the heat is unbearable in those little tin shacks i been and i know how hot it is in April being hungry is one thing yet being hot and all that pollution fumes grime rats fleas etc God have mercy and give them some respite
Phillipines' biggest problem is overpopulation, poor leadership and they keep getting elected not because they are good leaders, but rather they are popular.
being under colonizer rules phillipnes wont progress .. west usa wants to keep countries in poor state and depend on usa . and also this is why phillipines is known as white mens sex tourism.. so many young phillipines kids gets raped and since poeple are poor they pay off the locals and the family or the cops since they dont earn as much
I wonder why they have to go up to Silang just to interview an affluent individual. When in fact, they could have just visited the homes of politiciana in Metro Manila and see how they are comfortable they are while the people they serve suffers.
Lmao. Did you even watch the documentary in full? They want to show CONTRASTING living environments. Manila(hot&humid) vs. Silang(Cooler). And, who are those Politicians who'd say YES to a Documentary w/c can put them in bad light?!
My family never have to live on slums because we live in the provinces where the air is cleaner and plenty of space. I always hated the idea of living in over populated big cities like these.
Not everyone can afford to have their own land and houses in the provinces, and opportunities for work are usually found in the cities. It's time to stop romanticizing living in the rural areas when both national and local governments (led by officials) have been amiss, one way or another, in giving public service to many residents.
@@frantickero7725 Why not aim for higher opportunities? Go live in the province where there are free education and good healthcare facilities. Give your kids a good education so that they could go in a foreign country to work. Another one is make business in the province as long as u know what kind of business to do. Looking at the statistics there are a lot of provinces in the Philippines where the state of living is good.
Not really, the daytime temperature in Singapore is usually around 29-32 degrees Celsius. Not to mention there is a lot of greenery everywhere in town which makes conditions more tolerable than they otherwise would be. It is the humidity that is hard to deal with.
@@siddbhatt31 true Singapore has a lot of greenery. Btw the temperature mentioned above is heat index (or what if feels like) it is basically just 31-32 degrees but it feels 40 due to high and hot humidity.
Highest Heat Index recorded in Metro Manila for 2024 was 48 degrees Celcius. The Highest Heat Index in the Philippines was the month of May of 2024. It was 55 degrees Celcius/ 131 degrees Fahrenheit in Eastern Samar, Philippines.
Asian countries are braking the summer heat record . Here in india maximum temperature is recorded 51 degree in the capital city new delhi . Worse summer for Asian. Plant trees
Breed until they can’t support it. Still there is nominated people saying “there should be more born babies” did they counted the ones in poverty too ? Or are they talking about the families in good conditions capable of supplying for a child ?! 🤔 Contraceptive support should be distributed to avoid poverty grow. is not fair to bring a child into poverty and let the world care for it, unfortunately they never or almost get a chance for a better life.
They have as many kids as they can hoping even just one of them will be educated and lift the family from poverty. A highschool friend of mine was literally told by her mom, "you're our only hope" 😂
What a nice guy doing this and kids were thrilled and would be nice for everywhere to keep cool.. heat wave is brutal stay cool and drink lots of fluids but water is main thing
Even in our place with a thick forest but still we can feel hot imagine not having even a dozen of tree here because people envy city and it lead to disaster
If you actually watched the video, the narrator said "water shortages are not a problem in here". So yeah, he can washes his truck whenever he wants it.🤷♀️
Tondo slums is favorite of Singapore filming 5 to 10 years slums be gone in Philippines, but now cna Singapore enjoy filming them together with jipneys phase out... Haha 😆
I mean look at the title, they're trying to compare the poor and the affluent. They can film the rural poor, but the rural poor most likely have a tree to stay cool on, so not that relevant.
@@Haliya. Even Al Jazeera is the same way, they always on that spot, Well, let them enjoy filming cos slums in tondo won't stay longer and jipneys phase out... June is a rainy season in Philippines, Philippines 're preparing for la Nina...
Also Korean media they always show pag pag level of poverty about Philippina and you are so happy and proud of it because international people mentioned you....
Take some of your recycled cardboard and insulate your roof with it. A gap between the roof and cardboard allow the trapped heat to rise and exit out a gap in the roof. Remaining heat is trapped in the cardboard walls. Dig into the dirt floor to access coolness of the earth. Lots of passive options to stack solutions. Ice purchase is foolish. Save that cash to invest in a better future. And. Really. Stop having kids.
This goes to show that the Filipino People would still be able to put "Smile" on their faces. Wether its the strongest storm or the hottest Summer in recorded history. Resilience is on their DNA🧬
I like the contrast of the poor having to line up for showers with the idiot who doesn't understand how windows work casually washing his car with water.
Why did recycling lady decide 4 (or so) children were a great idea in the first place? No money but hey, let the city continue to grow exponentially, that'll surely make things better for the next generation...
@@mums2109 I don't mean to be rude but that's quite a convenient explanation. I mean it's not rocket science: sex - > baby. If putting on a condom is too much to ask fir, at least stop having sex. If they didn't get the basic concept, they'd have more like 20 babies before menopause. 4 means they are aware how to stop producing more.
@@mums2109I'm 28 in living with my fiance for 9 years no child. I learned sex education in high school amd college but I purposely research a lot of birth control methods through internet only 😂
That's a collective problem, but individually, it makes sense for a person without retirement benefits to have several children to ensure being cared for when elder.
Eh nakakamatay yan. Ngayon lang nga ako naka rinig na may namamatay diyan pag mainit. Dati naman walang heat stroke at heat illness diyan eh.

@@fialee8 You’re viewing this through your own place of privilege. You have no idea what this woman's situation is, maybe she’s widowed. Who are you to judge this woman, who struggles more than you ever will, just to keep her children from starving.
@@hilaryb8807 So you think it's perfectly fine to have four kids with someone, but no plan if something happens such as someone dies? That is completely irresponsible. If someone has kids, they need to have a plan to take care of the kids in various situations. You are very entitled to think it's ok to sacrifice the children's future for 10 mins of fun. These poor kids have no future other than perpetuating living in slums.
@@fialee8 If “having a plan” were the criteria for having in children, no-one would ever have children. Many countries are still highly patriarchal, where women are forced to rely on men to survive. Women have fewer rights, less education and job prospects, then when a man leaves, they take 100% of the responsibility for the children, and 100% of the blame for “choosing to raise their children in poverty”. The majority of the world’s families are living hand-to-mouth, they don’t have the privilege of “having a plan”.
I don’t get it. Why is the Philippines so much trash every where on the streets, especially if it can be collected and money received for it. You see paper and plastic everywhere, yeah this is baffling
You would think by now, they would recognize that more & more children means deeper & deeper into the cycle of poverty; but no, swarms of children are everywhere you look. ( Those children's future's are not going to be particularly bright. You think it's hot now ? just see what that child is going to have to endure 25 yrs. from now !) 🤔😳😡😡😱
*The international law* is very clear on the South China Sea: - parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including the Philippines 🇵🇭, - the rest of it is the international water, - no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.
The international law is indeed clear under UNCLOS: Parts of the South China Sea are within the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) of several ASEAN countries, including the Philippines. Much of it is considered international waters. China’s claims, based on the so-called "nine-dash line," were invalidated by the 2016 Hague ruling. But it's more complex than saying no part belongs to China or Taiwan. There are disputed territories, and diplomatic negotiations are ongoing. Skibidi gyat
China🇨🇳 still owes the Filipino people an estimated USD$177 billion for damages from the 2016 Hague lawsuit. - Mr. Marcos must get this rightful money to help *needy Filipinos.*
L okay lol @lastChang, The 2016 Hague ruling didn't order China to pay the Philippines $177 billion. It invalidated China's expansive claims but didn't award monetary damages. Mr. Marcos has his hands full defending Filipino rights in the South China Sea. Spreading fake numbers isn’t convincing anyone stop yapping bro skibidi
