Philippines Village Family Day - The Hike, The Vibe, & Chef John John Grills $1.75 Fresh Fish!

Join us for Part 1 of this week's family day. Hike along with us through the sugarcane fields and see what's happening in the village. Chef John John will fire up the village grill and cook $1.75 USD worth of fresh fish we bought at the market.
The Tuloy was 50 Pesos per kilo (on the video I said 100 but it's only 50). We bought 2 kilos so I was out a grand total of $1.75 USD.

The slow mo video of John John and Forest laughing at Fatima as she runs to keep up. Forest was right there in on the joke. That boy is coming along. The country life was a good choice for him. I'm in my sixties and I'm in a state of shock in the city but right at home in the country. Ya, I get it, I don't have autism but life is about feeling at home no matter what. This was a smart choice by his dad.

Try using the drone in hover mode to get those shots of your crew walking? Learn to set it up and fly while walking.. I had mini and it was easy to set up those shots..

Marcos, maybe take a very quick walk thru of the entire village every couple months. Most homes are not too concerned of a camera if it is a quick passing thru. There is ANOTHER PART or another dynamic of the village, we do not have an insite to or understanding of. Kind of like wide angle view. From your past footage over the years, it appears the village is really small consisting of only 10 houses ? Is it bigger ? Just wonder how big or small ? I grew up in small town usa then moved to university. The very smallest town near us had 100 homes in it. Great vids.

Marcos, very, very, very, nice footage of the creek. The creek is really beautiful with it having extra water running in it. Today, when outside, I always stop at every creek and look at them up and down. They are really special and wonderful to look at. When I was a boy, for a decade, all of my childhood summers were spent everyday in the woods, on several creeks, a medium flowing river, and lakes. We fished, walked, looked, and enjoyed. These water sources were 10 minutes from our home. Winter kept us frozen inside for 8 months straight. My dad, as a kid, did the same thing living in small town usa. It was wonderful. Everyday we saw tracks of many birds and animals in the sand and river banks. It is very hard to see wild animals by chance, because most of them are out only or mainly during the night. Nice job. Very special. Yep... Never drink water that has farm animals living it or animals using it. Technology and expensive water filter systems, training, and skills are the only the water can be consumed safely. Also, boiling, ect. 1 drop of bleach solves.

Agree pushing yourself makes a person happier, healthier. I live in Phoenix, walk 2 hours nearly everyday, midday. Love it. Hot water heater off in summer, heat off in winter. This summer 6-8 hours AC per day. Doing without...love it.

Sugar cane really taste good. Me and my friends use to go into the middle of the field and suck on cane until we got drunk. Owners were not happy though. Everyone here loves it. The government then planted cane that is not suckable. The joints are to close together.

20:00 The solution to directing characters is compensation. You get money from videos you post and use the money for rent, food...everything the Filipinos benefit from. But that's not how Filipinos think. You buy food because they're hungry, no connection is made to videos. Filipinos share everything with families so nothing special. So you make a connection they do understand...cash. You give them a piece of the action for every 20 seconds they appear in the final video either flat fee or based on views. And my friend they will watch every second of your video to see how much screen time they got. That will be good content too, them trying to get more screen time. Cost you nothing because instead of them asking you for money for certain things you can say "Use your video money."

Why don’t you buy a grill for Grandma? It don’t need to be a 100$ ones just ones that is not caveman style. The fish looks delicious but why she don’t use a napkin or plate instead of placing the fish on top of a trash can lid. C’mon Guy, you should know better. It’s not right. You know this. Also buy some chopped woods for Grandma once in a while, I’m sure you can afford it. Buy cooking woods that will last for two weeks, that’s all. Buy a jeepney for transportation. The kids don’t deserve walking for miles like you. Go walk with someone on your own. You’re torturing the little ones.🤨🧐🤨
