For those asking which one I prefer: I love both countries (I’ve been FOUR times to each 😅). My goal with this video is to help indecisive travelers with some key points based on my experience. I wouldn’t say it’s an unbiased video but I definitely don’t take sides 😅 Both countries have brought me so much joy, unforgettable experiences and great friendships 😌 If you can, DO BOTH :)

Hi, I’m Thai and agreed with you that Philippines has lots of more beautiful islands than Thailand. The government there seems have not much creative ideas how to bring out to the world. I wish I will visit those paradise islands in Philippines one day!
As a Filipino I love to travel Thailand🇹🇭 soon. Sometimes traveling to beaches here like Palawan, Siargao, the fare is expensive. It’s better to travel abroad. lol 😂

I'm living in Thailand. I enjoy it. Yes, you're right: strong culture. It is very unique. And yes: never being colonized before unlike Cambodia, Vietnam or Malaysia (I have also lived there before). Nevertheless, it has heavily been influenced by Prussia, nowadays Germany (and partly Scandinavia like in Hua Hin). This dates back to the times, as Thailand and Ancient Siam were several in war against France, and then, Prussia defeated France, and Thailand admired Prussia for this, and copied them in many aspects, like for its bureaucracy 😂😂😂 As a business owner here in Thailand that has also lived in Germany, I immediately recognized the same heavy bureaucracy here 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's not our fault we were colonized. I'm sorry, but Thailand wasn't even born yet when we were conquered by Spaniards. However, we learnt a lot in advance from them, even from the Americans, how this and that work. Don't you ever doubt why we're good in English? It's because of them getting us conquered doesn't brings us bad but also some goods, too. In a lot of comparison of the Philippines and Thailand, a lot of foreignors prepare to visit us than Thailand (No Offense) because of good communication. You may be knoown as the country of smiles. But we're known as the "Pearls of the Orient Seas". We have commonly have everything, that's why China wants to take the West Philippines Sea, lol. So, don't say THAILAND have a strong culture because we do too and we are advanced in a few things, but Thailand for sure lead the growth of the economy. That's all. :)
Tourists better go to Thailand. As a Filipino, we want to preserve the pristine beauty of our beaches. Let tourist enjoy Thailand and we will enjoy our nature. No comparison to both countries.

When it comes to culture and traditions. I would say Thailand is interesting and also they were not colonized by other countries which is interesting to see how they became a nation. While I would go for The Philippines for its nature and rich and diverse history from being bombarded with so much influence from the east and west it’s a mix of everything which makes the Philippines unique in Southeast Asia also it’s not in mainland Asia. I love both countries. I can’t wait to visit Thailand in the future. I been to the Philippines. It needs in progress in infrastructure development

Im a filipino and residents of manila but my boss is from australia yes... Majority of australian like to travel japan china thailand vietnam and they do not want to travel in the philippines the reason is the culture in the philippines is the same in western country... For me is acceptable
Most Filipinos mostly say that they are better because they speak English. I would say it's nonsense. It's not important for Thailand. Because Thailand has its own culture, food and language. The authentic southeast asia and a variety of tourist attractions, not just the sea. It has a unique architecture. And most importantly, public transportation is much better. Because of this reason, the Philippines does not have many tourist. If comparing with Thailand It should be compared to Malaysia or Vietnam. The Philippines is far below these countries. And it's a dangerous country.
Philippines will always be number 1 for me being my motherland. HOWEVER, I highly prefer Thai food over Filipino cuisine, Bangkok is so much easier to get around compared to Manila. Thai massage is renowned worldwide as well. Bangkok also has the best rooftop bars in Asia hands down. Ugh I miss Thailand.
I'm Filipino and I often wish we have the same level of progress as Thailand's. We don't compete with each other in real life, if that what it appears to some. I think comparison videos like this are aimed to non Thais and non Filipinos who want to plan their travel well and manage their expectations. Always have open mind and respect both countries. I’ve been to Vietnam for 10 days but I didn’t vlog about it 🙌 definitely want to explore more of the country so I’ll be back 🙌 looking forward to share about that experience whenever I visit!
Thailand is definitely more exotic than the Philippines, especially if you're coming from Europe. Philippines is more westernized compared to its neighbors, but the local experience here is much different, cause if you're looking to interact, not a problem, cause everyone understands English.
FYI, Philippines is very unique county in South East Asia because Philippines is a combination of EAST & WEST and yet still Philippines preserved it's own culture, tradition & unique foods.

Definitely agree with you. However, I guess most people ultimate choices (PH vs. Thailand) stem from flights costs which are much more expensive for the PH when your flights are originated from Europe. Anyway, thanks for your advices and great vids as usual.

Philippines for sure. I’ll give the food and culture to Thailand but the Philippines have a magical vibe in every island whether it’s Boracay or Cebu or Siargao or the Palawan Island these islands brings a laid back feeling like you leave your worries behind. A big plus is that the people are very humble and speak English so well. They also love foreigners. The food in the Philippines may not reach mainstream but it’s about to change as you see in social media and jokoy the comedian is talking about Filipino food and the history behind it. Chicken Adobo is the national dish and it’s hella good

Language wise, Philippines also wins! Philippines has a high-fluency rate in English due to American Occupation. Local languages have numerous Spanish words too. Like suerte, cuchara, tinidor, and etc. But of course, the usage of Spanish words vary among different regions and communites.
Yeah, I'm trying to decide on a short trip coming from China. I like to be alone at times, but also want to experience the local culture too. So, I was thinking Cebu or Koh Samui in Thailand (recommendation). I don't really want to shop, just enjoy the beach that's not too crowded, maybe rent a bike, ride a jet ski, and maybe visit a skatepark. Any suggestions?

Now I know why you love and chose Phillppines because you come from Spain and Catholic country , Phillippines was colonied by Spain , So you are used to be with Catholic and Spain culltural , It's very different from Thailand.
Prolly an important aspect of consideration are these non-beach aspects: 1. Thailand is easier to travel in compared to the Philippines, especially for solo travelers - more developed infrastructure, less traffic in the biggest cities, easier to understand public transportation 2. Thailand has a more "exotic" southeast Asian expectation offering compared to the Philippines - Thailand has majestic temples, buddha statues, of which the Philippines will struggle to have anything to go up against. The Philippines has beautiful historic churches but they really can't compare to the so many other beautiful churches in Europe for example. I'm from the 🇵🇭 tho, and I still won't want to be biased! 😉 Pero gracias Fonsi for loving Las Filipinas! 😊
Let other people travel and stay to other countries they prefer. They choose a country to travel according to their own convenience, comfort and confidence not to a country from the hearsay of overproud individuals🤣🤣🤣
both countries as re nice ,.the only difference Thailand is more crowded n touristy but the Philippines is more laid back n less touristy n you can find places where you can enjoy that is not crowded

I think you're spot on about the differences. Philippines isn't as popular so there are still remote places that are untouched or barely touched by tourists. One of my biggest thing why I love Thailand is the hospitality. I always tell people, if you want to know how to treat someone then go to Thailand. I feel they are so happy to see you and I feel they go out of your way to make you feel welcome and invited. I always feel like I'm treated like royalty when I visit Thailand. Though I love Palawan and the beautiful islands of the Philippines. I love the Filipino foods but I would say my tastebuds also prefer Thaifood. From their Phad See Ew (Smokey wide nooodles) to Mango Sticky Rick and Sweet Coconut. Just watching your video makes me want to book a flight out rn.

I agree with you.. for me..PHILIPPINES is the Best...if you want to have peace on mind, relaxing and calm there is in rhe Philippines..the food and culture is really good.. yes you're right.. have some places in the Philippines undiscovered that needed to discovered. and so many islands in the Philippines that you can choose.. there are many more beautiful views that are not in Thailand.. Most of the beautiful things to see in the Philippines are almost here.. there is no need to go to other Asian countries.
Spoiler alert: if you go camping or in public toilets in the Philippines, even in some second rate private resorts they are unbelieveably embarassing. As a local tourists, it is so frustrating

Nice comparison. A note on tourism generally, I think that over tourism is very bad for local economies. Look at the Canaries, Tenerife and Ibiza. The locals have trouble trying to afford to live in some of these places, often due to government inability in policy, but it's so sad. It's these people that provide the services for tourists to enjoy themseves, all a bit sad.
What do expect bro philippines have 7700 island while thailand has only 1430 island but they have tons of beautiful beaches and island crsytal blue water, maya bay voted 3rd most beautiful beaches in the world 2024.. people come to thailand not only the beaches because of great food, temples,culture and they have better infrastructure than philippines. And thailand one of the best shopping mall in the world.. in philippines people come because of beaches thats it.. and blogger come to philippines because they can get more views and subscriber because most of the people can speak english and filipinos loves if u praise their country.
