I've had this machine for about 5 months now and I really love it. It gives a nice crema, and doesn't leak out any coffee smell from its top cover. It does use a lot of water though so you'll have to clean the bottom tank quite often, but that's not that big of a deal. The only thing I miss is a 4th setting for the drink amount because I usually have to run it once on 3 and then once on 1 so I can fill my cup. Also, when I first made the purchase I overlooked the LatteGo part, so I was a bit disappointed with the fact that it came with the LatteGo attachment, rather than a regular milk frother attachment, because I though that would prevent me from making latte art. I'm not sure what I was on back then but now I just keep a small milk jug on the machine as it prepares the milk, and then quickly switch to a cup as it pours espresso, which allows me to do put the milk in later and make whatever shape I want. One final thing; make sure to ventilate your kitchen (or where you keep the machine) as it can somehow leave coffee stains on the higher parts of your walls, probably because of the steam that comes out of it.
Had a higher end Saeco espresso maker already for the last 7 years at work and it worked great, was looking for a new one on Amazon and seen your video so just bought 2 from your website instead. One for me and one for my best friend.
I have a Breville. I didn’t think anyone elsex especially Phillips, would make something even more convenient and in a smaller package. I can’t justifying buying a new machine but I want this right now
Can’t wait to get this machine - due tomorrow - am a Nespresso user at the moment but am having some issues, also have to use the separate milk frother which is less than efficient and burns milk easily. I am sure I am going to enjoy this machine much more - thank you for the information, clear, concise and easy to follow with great tips.
I'm not sure if you'd do this considering you sell both but any chance of a blind taste test comparing espresso's and Americarno's from a semiautomatic machines with ones from a superauto? Sorry if you've already done one but i couldn't see a video on it.
I would really want to see how to make coffee or cappuccino with pre-ground coffee, I try several time according to the instructions and no luck, unless my machine is with the defect. I would appreciate your help. Thank you! Mariana.
@@CommanderAdamaNJ I got mine from Amazon. I love it, use it daily! It’s super simple to setup, easy to clean and feels high quality. No regrets at all.
@@cloud5887 $799 or does it go lower on occasion? I’ve been making manually and wand frothing for years in a little krups. Not thrilled with espresso quality. Thanks for the reply.
@@cloud5887 Reached out to Seattle Coffee Gear they said sales on website. I did not see it go on sale. Best Buy has it 100 off as of yesterday ($699) so I ordered it. Should be here on Wednesday. Looking forward to a stronger cup than my Krups espresso makes. Let you know how it goes.
Perfect minimalist setup with very good coffee. If you want full auto, you wont be disappointed by this one. A shame the Jura machines don't die, I wont need a new machine for at least 5-7 years 🙈
My Impressa C9 died after 7 years. Just popped for this thing. We'll see. I'm sending the C9 for repair anyway, just in case. The crema from the Jura is perfect. That will be hard to match.
Jura's definitely break, ours has been repaired 3 times in the 2 year life span of the machine. Very unhappy with the quality of this rather expensive machine.
@@kemari1991 As was said in the video you can stop the process at any time by pressing the stop button. You can just select "Latte" and when you have the milk you can stop the coffee :) This is what I think can be done and is very easily achievable.
It works well, is so easy, and if you only use half the milk it can be popped in the fridge for later. I just run water from the faucet into the spout to rinse residual milk...negligible amount of water if any runs down into the carafe.
Hi Gail, Great review! I love this machine, it makes good coffee. Do you know if it’s necessary to use the cleaning tablet for the brew group, I live in an area with soft water and don’t use oily coffee. The other question is, does the machine warn you when the filter needs to be changed.
I just received mine today from your website. Awesome drinks. Using fresh local coffee roasted beans. Some of the best coffee I've ever had. Especially with all of the syrups and sauces I got.
Hello. Thanks for jet another great video. But I have i question. Is it possible to clean the grinder? To easy take apart and clean with a brush like I do on my Vario home. I haven`t found a good fully automatic machine there I can do this.
I Love It, So Easy...BUT...5 Months and it quite...it was replaced by Phillips with a new machine when it wasn't able to be fixed...but I'm worried about 5 more months & future service needed on it...I didn't see an extended warantee available...I hate disposable appliances that don't last & can't be easily repaired locally
How’s the cleaning process? I know you mentioned the milk carafe and the inner portion but what about de scaling? And with it having so many plastic parts what about durability??
Gail, Love your videos. I have a saeco intelia deluxe cappucino, good machine but froth is light for my taste. Would this machine be a significant upgrade??
Is the amount of brewed coffee adjustable? For example, an Americano Not only by the 3 factory presets, but by setting it yourself to fill the cup exactly?
That’s what I was wondering. If you catch the milk in a separate milk pitcher, can you pour it in yourself after the shot is pulled. It would be a nice option if you felt like blessing someone with a fancy finish.
Love my new 3200 LatteGo. The only gripe I have is how small the portions are! I have to go through, find the cups I'm going to use most often and increase the max size for all the models. The "large" coffee size fills up maybe half a cup of coffee at most. Same with all the other modes. I wish we could adjust the "medium" portion also. Only the large can be adjusted
Thats because its an espresso machine, not a coffee machine. Espresso extracts coffee under 15 bars of pressure, this doesnt create a large volume of liquid, rather it creates a concentrate with 3-4x the potency of typical drip coffee. If you want volume you use a drip coffee maker, if you want lots of caffine in a small volume you go espresso machine.
Saeco is an italian brand, we don’t make english coffee neither we like it.. the portions are made mostly for italian espresso and cappuccino, the portion u are used to are made here..
I'm curious how this machine compares to other fully-automatic machines in it's price range, specifically the Gaggia Anima Prestige, Jura D6, and the Breville Barista Touch.
Great review. I am really interested in this machine. Does the hot water run through the plastic brew parts? Thanks very much if you could answer the question.
very well presented! Can you tell me if you can adjust the temperature of the milk? I have a fully automatic machine from another company that I recently purchased and the milk is cold almost. Also can you make the milk froffy?
Since there is no option for a Latte, what would be the best settings to get one or something close? Latte macchiato and I increase the amount of milk? Regular coffee with milk?
When you make the latte macchiato (or cappuccino for that matter), does the machine do one shot of espresso or two (ie, one or two doses of espresso)? It looks like you can do x2 for the espresso drink but not for latte macchiato? Thank you!
Is it possible to show or comment how regular coffee tastes? Everyone in every video demo with a cappuccino, espresso, or latte. While I’m the cappuccino drinker, some old fashioned relatives prefer regular coffee. How does the coffee setting taste? Good enough to dump the old glass carafe? Thanks for all of your helpful videos!
i removed my Technivorm Moccamaster and capresso stainless infinity grinder from the counter and only use the 3200 latteGo. have had one about a month now.
I make the americano every morning, it's a great cup of strong coffee! It's so easy to adjust coffee strength for each cup, you can quickly find your best cup, and each person in the house can fix it just the way they want. LOVE this machine!
Hi. Mine stopped using ground coffee anymore. It works like everything is ok but the only outcome is hot water, and the ground coffe turns into a puck, thats it. Do you have any guess about how to fix it? Thank you!
Hi how are you ? I loved the video I'm looking for a coffee machine to buy and I'm between it and the Breville espresso. Which one will give me a better espresso, late machiatto and cappuccino? I don't know if I choose practicality or total control thank you
I am wondering how the Philips 3200 LatteGo compares to the De'Longhi Magnifica Cappuccino (ECAM 23.260)? They are roughly equal in terms of drink choices, both with milk dispensers, nearly identical size....
Delonghi specializes in espresso while philips specializes in mass production, the reality is that the delonghi will have more tempurature customization, a more even extraction with better and more evenly distributed pressure in general with a proper pressure gauge, and a more flavorful customisable end product, however the delonghi is like $1400 vs $700 for the philips so you get what you pay for at the end of the day.
You guys do a wonderful job with the video. Philips should pay you! I had a silly question. My old Saeco that I had for >8 yrs finally bit the dust. I have 2 spare de-scalers and the old Intenza filters. Can I use these with the machine? I hate to throw them away and they are made by Philips...
I'd love to see a comparison between 2200 and 3200. It looks like the 3200 has an easy milk level button, which is missing on the 2200. But more than that, I'd love to see a review of the difference.
I just got mine yesterday. Is that too early to tell if the machine does in fact makes good coffee? So far, I’m not impressed. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. It didn’t taste strong enough so I added 4 shots. Could it be the beans that I bought? It was roasted 9/1/20 and I used it on 9/21/20. Help please!
I sometimes like to make matcha green tea lattes using the steam wand. I would still want that option, and I can’t see how that would work with this machine. They could at least have added an option for frothed milk only.
What kind of coffee does the middle button makes (the one between espresso and americano) ? Also, I wonder how it can make americano. Is there another water spout inside the unit, can the excess water bypass the coffee puck?
Hi there , kinda thinking of pulling the trigger on this one, one question tho, if i buy beans for a good espresso and decide to make americano, which is basically english coffee is there any other spot it will take beans from or it will use that same bean ?
This may be the one for us but I'd love to find it closer to $600. Do these ever get discounted that far (black friday etc..) or should I consider getting one now before the holiday rush?
How would you co pare this one to the (Breville BES880BSS Barista Touch Espresso Machine, Brushed Stainless Steel) I can't decided which one it's better for me
Guy L I think the brew unit and tech is all the same. You just get fewer drink options than the Xelsis (5 vs 12) and fewer customization options. If that’s worth $1k to you only you can decide.
I've had a Saeco Syntia Cappuccino for more than 5 years. It works just fine, the only thing I don't like about it it's the milk carafe. It's extremely hard to disassemble and clean. And the foam quality is not good at all. Here in Argentina there are currently good choices to get the Philips 2231 LatteGo that has some less features than this one. Am I getting a good deal by replacing my Syntia with this one? I feel that the 2231 is more an entry-mid level machine where the Syntia is more robust. I know that Syntia is a pretty old model so I'd be getting a totally brand new one, but not yet convinced.
Thanks for the review! Now I have noticed in delonghi you mentioned the type of beans (which was reeeaaally help as this was my issue with delonghi). Now my question is, do you this machine will have the same issue or any bean should be fine with it. Thanks again!
the only thing I didn't like is the volume of the drinks. I put to medium both milk and coffee, and got ~150 ml...i expected more...maybe i'm not doing smth right?
Hi there. I just purchased one of these machines and have been using for a little over a week and just did it’s first cleaning. I noticed that when I removed the brew group, there were grounds of coffee everywhere along the outside of the brew group. Getting in areas where lubrication needs to go and around the piston as well as the adjacent wall to the water tank. Is this normal or is something going wrong inside the machine in regards to the discard of used grounds? Any insights would be much appreciated 👍🏼 Thanks so much
We bought the Philips 3200 LatteGo Espresso Machine from Seattle Coffee Gear. We made our first cappuccinos this morning. Is there a way to make "two shot" latte or cappuccino with the LatteGo? We see how to do a 2 shot espresso. Hope to learn something here lol.
Have to previous version of the Xelsis, been fantastic machine, everyday few cups, ..REL coffee. can never go back to that pre ground drip stuff, once you grind the beans, it's oxidizing and losing flavor, grind when ya ready to make coffee is the way to go...wonder why Philips is marketing under Saeco, then Philips, as mine has Philips Saeco sticker on the front...weird
