Hello AVF, I am glad to see lots of Philips representatives present during the launch. I belived Danny/AVF shootout and purchased the 2018 55OLED802. I am hopping the NEW TVs have fixed the issues I saw with my 2018 unit. Worst still was lack of interest/empathy from Philips to fix the issues my unit sufferd namely outlined below ----- I purchased 2018 55OLED802/12 model after your and other peoples review and shoot out tests. I would like to point out a few faults that were present with my units and I think thay are generic design faults. 1) I had picture set to "NIGHT" mode as my room isn't very bright. 2) Sound was set to Expert mode and DTS TruVolume. Every time I turned the TV ON. I had to reselct Night mode and DTSTruVolume again. I notifed Philips of this issue and nearly 11 weeks (24th Jan 2019) later they have offered no solutuion at all. Additionally ISF Day & Night are the only picture modes look normal/natural the rest of the picture options are wast of space & time. Smooth motion definately does not work and in somecses I observed blotches when looking at fast moving objects (tried various motion smoothing combinations no joy at all). I don't belive their 4k upsaceling is working properly either as some HD programmes like "Friends on Ch-4HD came out horribly spotty. Even QVC HD had lot of picture noise present. Could I urge you to relook at this TV if you get an oppertunity but with HD broadcasts and normal programmes and look how this TV perfoms? I am highly dissapointed with Philips with their service.
The backlighting is a great inclusion, its something seen on PC Gaming monitors for awhile now but for someone like me who likes to watch tv/computer in quite a dimly lit room the backlighting on the monitor or tv makes it much easier on my eyes. Great inclusion here, they are also very nice looking tv's especially with the way they incorporate the speaker at the base of the tv. I would love to see a comparison with Panasonic's latest offerings.
That representative just told everyone why, TP Vision, Sony, Panasonic, and even Samsung were staying away from Dolby. It never had anything to do with licensing and royalties.
no more burn in? Do the new LG Panels for Sony and their own include these new panels? So much for Micro LED “killing Oled.” I told people that by the time Micro comes out in a few years OLED’s burn in issues would mostly be resolved. Fixing Burn In is the true game changer, this is a first step.
I think most of the brands now offer a kind of burn-in clean function which dramatically reduces any burn-in which will occur. I still hesitate to buy an Oled knowing the risks of burn-in.
@@MaZEEZaM actually, LG, Panasonic, Sony, Phillips, HiSense, TCL, and Vizio all offer Dolby Vision on their TVs. Whether its one model or multiple models the fact is Samsung is the only company "screwing over," their customers by not offering the choice on at least ONE of their models. They don't even offer it on their UHD Players and Soundbars. And HDR10 is the base and Dolby Vision is a "layer" on top of HDR10. So EVERY HDR enabled TV offers HDR10 and Dolby Vision is an separate add-on.
The Dolby Vision implementation requires specific hardware, so there is no chance that older models will get an upgrade. I also have the 803 so I am disappointed as well.
The older OLED sets will not get Dolby Vision/Atmos as the chipsets cannot handle them in the older sets. It is not a simple case of firmware updating, the just can't do it at the hardware level.
I think in the UK like Australia they have 240Volt power, you may need a converter but probably would work but best to check beforehand. These Philips high-end models are also not offered in Australia annoyingly.
Well, I WAS really interested in these tv's on offer from Philips, sadly it seems Philips doesn't sell any of its 4K or Oled tv's in Australia, all we get is the cheapest hd tv sets. What a shame, I Really liked the look of these tv's. Back to the Panasonic for me, I guess.
Android on Philips TVs is very slow and laggy with them slow cheap MediaTek processors, I can't even navigate the TV channels without the menu lagging.
Id love to get oled 803 or 804 but In Ireland Philips TV's are practically non existent. The only Philips Tv you can buy is 5 series in Tesco or 6 series in Argos. Thats it. Absolutely terrible!
I'm DONE with OLEDs I once was on the OLED Band Wagon but no longer !!! I've had my 65" OLEd since 2017 and I have used it exactly as it was meant to be used doing everything possible to avoid the dreaded BURN IN. Yet despite my best efforts I still now have burn in and LG has said tuff Shit we don't care we got your money ! I'll wait for Micro-LED not buying another OLED I don't care who's brand name is on it. They ALL use LG panels and they are ALL susceptible to burn in !
First of all: “variable bit rate.. uhh delay uhhh..” is refresh rate that difficult to say lol? I’m a dutch guy but that’s just ehh... The ONE not to buy lol. Great marketing. Its a silver NU8000 with a tpv screen and ambilight. Great tv for +/-5-600 for a 55” anything more nah
I dont understand everyones obsession with hdmi 2.1. A lot of the features can already be implemented without it, those that can't are of no real use to the majority of people and 8k 60 frames is a long way off. Chill and enjoy the models put in front of you.
Listen up manufacturers..you want me to buy your flagship models but don't give me bit of future proof features and expect me to pay a premium: NO!!! Try again next year.
Does not have 2.1 then this video is pointless they trying to win people over just because they have the 2 hdr format please wake me up when 12bit panel are in the market for true Dolby vision
what you gonna use 2.1 for? 8k netlfix on 4tv ? non-existant 120hz 4k content? do you need eARC? whats the benefit of 2.1 except for future proof maybe? its like, Ferrari is garbage if it does not have itunes or smth
