Some of the channels are not liking the 2 as much as the 1. The humidifier clumsiness is the big challenge. Also we saw you hitting the menu system alot and the touch control is not working everytime. You have to repeat. Come on Philips!

The issue is the PE-PUR foam that is used for sound abatement can degrade resulting in a host of issues including death Souce: FDA. I recommend requesting them to provide a shipping label to send your machine to a qualified testing facility for analysis. At their expense. Unless or until this testing is conducted, you and they don’t know for sure if you may have been breathing in dangerous VOC’s. Don’t loose chain of custody with your machine by returning it. Request Philips ship you a DreamStation II which uses silicone for sound abatement.
Just got my Dreamstation replaced today with Dreamstation 2 advanced with the recall. Quite and improvement compared to the first. And to let you know they told me to replace the filter once every 6 months and the blue fine filter once every month if you need it due to allergies. EDIT: Thought of it.. the touch screen is quite bad and unresponsive tho. Thats a chance you dont have to use that often.
Honestly, I think the DreamStation Go is a better machine than this new DreamStation 2. Complaints on the humidifier design are resolved a little bit with the add on Go humidifier. But like the other Philips machines, the Go was recalled. DS2 is a clumsy Go station.
Thank you for your feedback! Your review of the machines help us better understand what our customers like and what needs improvement. We will be sure to pass the feedback on the DS2 to Philips Respironics. If you liked watching our video, please feel free to Like, Share, and Subscribe.
I replaced the foam housing in my Dreamstation 1 a few days ago. The new housing has no foam noise abatement. It is quieter and works perfect. I would not trade it for a DS 2.
Just got mine today. At first I thought, Oh good, a whole new machine, then I held it. What a cheap feeling machine. This humidifier is clunky and will for sure wake up the wife before I go to bed.
difference between dream station 2 vs dream travel go besides the obvious that one is more mobile. I'm considering getting the travel version for home use, but If I could get station 2 for home, it be great if I could also use it sometimes for travel
Get the DS2 over the current Dreamstation Go. 1. Updated menu System. 2. You can use heated tube on the DS2. 3. The DS2 is lighter than the DS Go with humidifier.
Dreamstation 1 is silent compared to the Dreamstation 2. Dreamstation 2 sounds like Darth Vader is in the room. There is a guy on RU-vid that made a video to show the noise it makes. It is a nice looking unit but it is not worth the noise it makes.
Unfortunately, we have found that you cannot use the machine without the humidifier. You can turn the humidifier off. But the heating plate is attached to the blower.
@@RespShop Thank you for the quick reply. It's kind of scary that the foam can get into your lungs from the motor and also the fact that they stopped production and sales but not recalling it. Thank you once again.
I am using the resmed now and having a really hard time with it. The dream station was quiet and great but I returned it because of the warning. Is the new DS2 just as quiet? I may have to buy one but I wanted to know if it’s just as quiet as ds1. The resmed is much louder than the ds1.
There is the Dream Station and the Dreamstation 2 CPAP's by Philips. The Dreamstation 1 has been recalled where as the Dreamstation 2 is currently safe to use. The internal functions of the 2 machines are the same. Please contact Philips if you are affected by the recall at 877 907 7508.
The filter is one of the most important things to keep you machine running for a long time. Not changing your filter can cause dust and debris to enter slowing down or breaking your motor which can lead to expensive repairs or having to buy a new CPAP. I just got the Dreamstation 2 as a replacement for Dreamstation 1 and its terrible. Very bad quality plastic and the water chamber is hard to clean and even harder to remove than the old Dreamstation. Not as good for patients with arthritis.
It depends on the battery you are using with your CPAP. The Zopec battery wouldn't have a adapter as it has AC outlets built in. You can speak to your provider to see if the adapter to your video is available.
Really? You would trust Philips again? No. After going out of pocket for replacement of my original dreamstation due to the recall, they are dead to me.
Thanks for watching! We produced this video when the DreamStation 2 first came out (2 months before the recall) and we were excited about the smaller DreamStation 2. We weren't so excited soon afterwards...
Dreamstation 2 is junk and the company should stop making it They want to tweak anything improve dreamstation 1 because it's a way better unit all away around
