👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I finally have my Phillips Hue lights setup finished. My best examples are the Dolby Atmos demo and a car video with the music setting on.

Amazing! I do love my Hue system. What’s your set up like?

Does it change colour with the music ?
@davidedwards4088
@davidedwards4088 Год назад
@ElvinSeow Yes. On music mode, any sound will trigger the lights. Philips Hue is definitely worth the money, even though I don't nearly use it as much as the first two years 🤷🏾‍♂️

Hello, thanks for the comment and reply. David is correct about the music mode or if you really wanted you could have it as part of a TV sync system where it will change to the colour of what is on the screen but you’ll need the Hue Sync box for that.

Remarkable level of light from such a small device. I love the ability to use it wireless to really improves its versatility. Have you tested to see how long it can last from full charge to drained?
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 4 года назад
Thanks for the comment. It is very bight considering. I was definitely impressed by that. The drain is dependent on the colour and the brightness used. I’ve not managed to drain it yet as it has alway lasted longer than I’ve needed it.

My house has around 15 philips smart lights and another 20 non. Couldnt convince the powers that be to "philips" the living areas as we have around 20 lights in the dining and living room! But I've just ordered two of these for garden use and to allow a bit of flexibility on placement

Can you use a wake up/ sleeping progra or do you need bridge for that?
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 3 года назад
Hello, thanks for the comment. It appears you can from looking at the Philips Hue Bluetooth app but it’s difficult to test as I have a budge installed. I do know you can see this up without with routines without the Philips bridge if you have an Alexa or Google home. This page explains it well: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.hellotech.com/guide/for/how-to-set-up-philips-hue-without-bridge/amp through that you should be able to set up routines like you’ve described.

Great job!! Totally agree about the price but I'm still tempted to buy this. Will I need a hub to get control with Alexa?? Or is it just phone control via Bluetooth mainly?. P.s. I'm a newbie smart lights convert 🙄
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 4 года назад
Thanks for the comment. The answer for controlling with Alexa, is it depends on which echo you have. If you have an echo plus or an echo studio you wouldn’t need a Philips hub as they in built smart home hubs already which will control the hue devices. I would recommend the Philips hub if you are going down the hue route. However this devices is compatible with Bluetooth too. So you can control it directly with the Hue Bluetooth app. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions, want further explanation or help.

You also missed out the sunrise and sunset feature. You should consider try Capser glow light is real shame they don't ship outside of US.

Hello, thanks for the comment. Agreed about the sunrise/sunset. I’ve used Hue sunrise feature before for a side lamp in the bedroom to help wake up. Was useful I thought but annoying for my partner! Not heard of Capser Glow, I’ll have to look into it.

Thank for the comment. Totally agree. I think it is the very top end of an acceptable price. But that is the same for all Hue products really. Great product though. Love using it outdoors.

Looking for Philips Hue 2 as a bed lamp! Hopefully will always be for that way in my home. Will feel asleep and it was be great to control colour and intensity. Later on I’ll goi the whole house with Hue lights! Given the way I want you Phillips Hugh lamp for a bedside table only what rate would you give out of a score of time? Many thanks in advance! Your Pal Tom!
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 3 года назад
Hello, thanks for the comments. I think it would be excellent for a bed light. You could use the wake up function in the app to have the light slowly turn on in the morning to wake you up. If you have it plugged in too it is very bright so idea for all situations. I would say it’s probably a 9 out of 10. Only downside is it is a bit unstable on it’s base so if knocked it could roll over. But apart from that it’s great. I’m sure you’ll be pleased!

Hi everyone, I have several of the Phillips Bloom lights. Can the Hue Go be used without a bridge ? Remote control ? I have remote controls that I use instead of a Bridge for the Bloom lamps. Cheers
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 3 года назад
Hello, thanks for the comment. The Hue Go can be used without a bridge, as it is Bluetooth. So the Huw Bluetooth app can control it. What remote are you using with the Bloom lamps?
@HaiderAli-nq4lh

Can you buy two and connect them with Bluetooth or need the bridge thing
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 4 года назад
Hello, thanks for the comment. To be honest I don’t have two so can’t be 100% sure. But from all of my reading and research I am fairly certain you can have 2 connected using bluetooth without a bridge. I know you can have more than one of their Bluetooth light bulbs connected so I don’t see why you couldn’t with this. I would say if you were going to get two I would highly recommended getting a bridge so you can connect them to other smart devices like Alexa as well as being able to control them away from the house (you could use them to act as ‘at home’ security lights).

The Ichiban Productions thanks for the detailed reply helped out a lot...also one more question would you recommend using these say two of them for ambient lighting behind a 48inch tv would it be bright?
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 4 года назад
Hello, you could definitely use two of these for that or you could use a set of Hue Play Bars (but that would require a hub). A pair of Go’s would be bright enough if they are plugged in. The brightness of the Go’s are less when unplugged running on battery compared to when they are plugged in. Check out my review of the Hue Sync box to see what the Play Bars are like.

The Ichiban Productions yeah see that’s the problem my set up I only have one Ethernet cable and that does me fine I don’t have WiFi available where I am to far from the house so I gotta find something that can stay plugged in or Bluetooth which sucks because I wanted the bar lights but what can you do
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 4 года назад
Hello, with that in mind I think the Philips Go Lights are your best option and should have the desired effect you’re looking for. You could consider buying a network switch to give you more Ethernet ports but if that’s not right for you, you’ll be more than happy with the go Lights. If you get them from Philips directly you have 60 days to return them if you don’t like them.

Is it bright enough?
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 3 года назад
Hello, thanks for the comment. When it is plugged in it is very bright. When running from the battery it isn’t quite as bright but is definitely bright enough for what I have used it for. It worked great as a torch when outside if that helps.

@@TheIchibanProductions thanks for the the super quick response!!! I was thinking of using it to light up part of my outside so I could swim at night but I’m not sure if it would be that bright?
@TheIchibanProductions
@TheIchibanProductions 3 года назад
No problems. To be honest because of the way it is designed the majority of the light is projected out the front face so assuming you angle is right. I would say plugged in it would definitely be bright enough. Portable it would be fine assuming your using the bright whites yellows oranges. It is the other colours that are hit by the reduction in brightness like red/blue for example. I would say however be careful as it isn’t waterproof or water resistant. But definitely ensure you by the Hue Go 2 not the V1 as the newer version (the one I reviewed) is significantly brighter.
