Wow! What a peculiar machine! I have worked with analog decks since 50 years and have never seen this one. Never knew Phillips made 10.5 inch reel decks. Very cool.👍

I was recently given one that seems in remarkably good condition, complete with owner manual and protective cover intact. It plays but has some issues. The reel motors emit a scraping screeching sound and in one direction the take up motor doesn’t spin the platter fast enough to take up the tape. I’m hoping I can buy the parts rather than have to buy a donor machine, since everything else seems ok. I’ve had a look at the motors and don’t see an obvious way to open them up so I think replacing them will probably be my best bet. Great work on yours by the way, we’ll done!
@@mixoffix2174 thank you, yes I don’t think I can get it open anyway. I’m going to try some sewing machine lubrication oil down the axle hole first and if that doesn’t work I’ll have to replace the motors. I’ve found a pair for sale in Germany , listed as “functional” so I hope that means in better condition than mine !
This is one of those machines i really want, but have no idea how to keep running. I love the timer features and the quirks but i just don't have the knowledge required to fix that stuff.
a good idea with the backlight of the regulators, I will definitely do that too. I have a question for you, auto reverse works only with large coils, but with 18 cm it doesn’t want to, where to look for a malfunction? thank you in advance
hi have a branel mini 8 i put alot of work into re cap was a right pain to do that's the thing was tape decks with alot of tracks i have a rs1700 that's not 100% reel table had to be jazzed up a tape dropped on it never keep tapes over decks ever
