This is my review of the Philips SHP9500. These headphones are very good for what they are - without a doubt. However, these are not perfect and should be used for more casual use, rather than professional. But are these the best open back headphones under $80? Enjoy!

I got it on Amazon with a mic included and got a 3 year protection plan so if something happens I can get it replaced or fixed without cost. I paid just over 100 after taxes and the protection plan. The headset alone is like 71 before taxes on Amazon if you dont need a mic included. And you get it much sooner than 2 weeks but that is up to you. With a mic it's like 85. Ordered mine today (Thursday) and it will be here Saturday. Can't wait! Using it with my ps4

is there any with 70mm drivers? I got some sony XB920's and the bass from them are NUTS. I also need metal. I need tons of bass, as well.

If you need tons of bass, you should stay away from open back headphones in general.

I have them, and I love them. For the price, they're unparalleled in my opinion. I sometimes find myself choosing them over my more expensive models just because I love the idea of a ~70 USD pair of headphones that can sound as good as my $130 ones (just sound-wise). Would definitely recommend it for not just people entering the world of audiophiles, but also people who just want good headphones. Keep in mind though, they're open-backs! They aren't meant for killer bass or noise-canceling and they will leak. They create a great sound space and overall very balanced sound but you have to sacrifice some things for that. Actually, the higher quality open-backs you go, the more they leak because they really give an open feeling.

@@EVILAKUMA Open back headphones usually have unparalleled sound separation and soundstage (soundstage being your ability to perceive depth in the sound, and audio separation being the headphone's ability to keep eveey sound properly clear, without them bleeding into one another). They also have excellent imaging (stereo separation that let's you hear the exact direction from which a sound is coming or is intended to come). I haven't tried the SHPs, but as a general rule of thumb, open back headphones have a sloppier bass, and sometimes less sound finition, in exchange for better soundstage, separation, imaging and comfort (the headphones being open really helps with the sentiment of cabin pressure you might get from cloaed backs). Finally, keep in mind that because they're open backs, they bleed and let in all sound. I can hear my PC's fan with my akg k702 on, and anyone that is present in my room will be able to hear my things very clearly as well.

Before I bought these, I was using a senn HD 4.40bt hooked to a topping nx1s with 3d boom on my pc. Worked well as I like bass. Then I decided to invest on this, felt very weak without an amp. Then decided to get a fx audio dac x6, still felt weak, then got a kguss a1 tube amp with the 3d boom and it almost feels and sounds like my senn HD 4.40bt (bass part) but still not there. However, if I listen to jazz or lowfi songs this is really good. I just switch to my HD 4.40bt if I want to listen to hip hop or bassy songs.

The clamping force is pretty minimal. It's not a tight set of headphones by any means.

It is not that the highs are exaggerated, it is that the bass is not boosted. Bass is supposed to be cerebral, not pounding over the rest of the music. That is a preference of many, but not correct.

@Luis Lopez yup I got Apple and tital on my fiio k5 pro dac/amp sounds amazing at first when you buy it and hear your headphones there going to sound ok because you need to break it in at least a 2 weeks to a month for them to sound at its best I had mine for like 2 years already so give it time be patience 👍🙌

Literally the best affordable headphones for PC gaming [competitive and single] hands down. No tight clamping force [extremely rare in headphones], great soundstage and very clear. Absolutely love them that I have 3 pairs. Order from Aliexpress, a lot cheaper and approx 1.5 week delivery to UK. If you're looking for bass cans don't get these, but any sensible person wouldn't get bass cans to play competitive games.

I dont like them. I haved them for about 2 months and i do not like the how it is so quiet for me even at full volume. The bass on these are almost nonexistent to me. I find 15 dollar earphones i use with my phone better sounding then them. I think this better than most gaming headset but for music not very good. :/ (edit i really like your video ive subscribed for your honest review :) )
