This is why Philly fans are the best in the nation. Turner has been flat out terrible for the Phils this year. We noticed and we called him out. But instead of booing him for eternity, we handed together and decided to boost him. The cheers of the 3 run bomb last night are the loudest I’ve heard since Harpers game 5 NLCS blast. It’s beautiful

So proud to be a Phillies fan. Showing him support like this means more to him then you think. He is human like everyone else. Class act philly. He's going to ball out for this team once he gets back to being the turner everyone knows he is. come playoffs, he wont forget this. Good job.

might’ve helped treas career in philly by a fcking million my guy. Absolutely beautiful. Best part is he acknowledged how bad he was playing and that even his mom was booing him and that if the fans didn’t boo he wouldn’t know what to think.

This is a fantastic gesture - but they're cheering a player, not ownership. Imagine the Phillies were still at the Vet and that the Vet clubhouses were occasionally overrun by raw sewage. And that the Vet had undergone construction to make it worse for baseball. And that the Yankees or Mets didn't play in New York, but just across the river in Camden - and that whichever team that was had one of the best ballparks in baseball. And that Phillies ownership was constantly crying poor while selling their best players for peanuts - all for the purpose of moving the team to Las Vegas, even though the city of Philadelphia was doing everything it could to get the Phillies a new stadium to keep them where they are. I don't think any fan base is going to cheer ownership under those circumstances. The A's aren't moving because the fans are bad.
