I also like starting small and growing larger plants. I just bought a 10 in Squamiferum, which is too big, but I loved it. Going to have to split it up to fit in my planters.
I just got a little florida bronze, i did not know they got so huge... Cool! I so agree with you about getting plants small. I wouldnt feel like it was really * my * plant if i got one someone else grew. And then what, just bring it home and look at it? Thanks for this, ill be following the journey!
I have 2 massive leaves(35 cm) cuttings of Florida Bronze with very thick stems . They are propagating in water for over two weeks now, but i see no roots yet. I'm a bit worried. I had them in an empty aquarium at first with a lot humidity, a little fan for air circulation, yet no roots. Any tips. please?
I would suggest taking them out the water. See if you can get some rooting powder. I got some at Home Depot, about $8.00. Sprinkle some all around the bottom and base of the stems get a small container, take perlite wet it, not soak it. Place some of the perlite in the container, then place the cuttings in, then pour the remainder of the perlite over the base of the stem. Leave in a warm humid place, prop box or next to a humidifier. Check the perlite once a week to ensure it stays damp and not wet or soggy. Perlite holds moister but allows air flow. Good luck, please keep me posted.
