Last winter, I bought a White Princess cutting for about 40CAD + shipping a little bit mindlessly because I wanted to try getting a plant in the mail for the first time. My experience with this plant is pretty good so far and seeing your specimen has made me excited about growing mine. The variegation seems stable, and as you said, the purest white I've seen on a leaf, a mix of sectoral and speckling which looks absolutely great and the fact that I might get a bit of pink here and there makes it a lot more exciting! On a side note, I think that you're completely right on the money about the Pink Princess. The high price it commanded during the first waves of the pandemic was an incentive for people to propagate it as much as possible and, as a result, now everybody and their grandmother has at least an almost reverted specimen they paid $10 for on their hands. I think the responsible thing to do now is to propagate only the nodes that have good variegation and discard the rest before we start calling every Black Emperor a Pink Princess.

Just bought the white princess, so, about a year after you made this video, and it's actually the one with lots of pink on it. The price was £16.99 in a garden centre that sells plants on a bit pricier side, so I guess I was quite lucky! Thanks for the review...

Oh how stunning!! I have never seen a white princess so huge. I would love for mine to get that big. I have propagated mine twice, and i have also propagated from those babies. I have given many to friends and family, but now im just happy to let mine live happily until it is in dire need of a trim. Mine this summer also pushed out 2 leaves with the pink variegation, i thought maybe it was because of the heat and humidity it was getting as it had never done it before, but now im seeing a lot of people saying it is a different type of plant, i dont know if it is or isnt, i just love them. Thankyou so much for the vid 😊

My princess leaves always turn brown at the very tip as they are unrolling. WHAT am I doing wrong?

I just bought a Pink Princess hoping it would have nice varigation 😬 maybe the "Brown Princess" should just be the new variety haha

I’ve heard it called the swamp princess. That’s what I call any of my reverted cuttings.🤭

I got my white princess today, paid 15€ instead of usual 35-40 for 12cm pot, guess prices in Israel are quite different. 8 palm-sized leaves with about 30-40% variegation and another one is on the way, also just noticed a blush on the petioles Very excited, it's my first "collectible" plant

Pls add to reviews talk about verigation. Stable or not. If reverting does cuting off will make the vergation to come back. Crisping in verigation... And so... Thanks dear

I love my white Princess. Only thing I would say is thrips are really hard to get rid of on philodendrons. Those bastards can hide anywhere. Luckily it's not bad on the white princess. I haven't seen anymore. But on my other philos, I was finding 1-2 every so often. so last resort I have used provanto 🤞Hope I won't see anymore! - San

Great video! I’m curious if you have since figured out why the browning occurred after cutting? Or a solution?

I just acquired a 2 leaf rooted cuttings, good amount of roots. I have the Mother grow light that i’ve had a Thai Constellation and a Monstera Aurea under with no browning. Would you say put under the lights or maybe off to the side until the plant is well established? Yours is gorgeous! Hope mine get s that’s beautiful! Thank you!

I have a brown princess and a grey princess. TBH, I prefer my prince of orange, if we’re talking about self-heading philos. Way more interesting and gentler on your wallet (at the moment)!

No problem will start adding that to the reviews good suggestion. Also the pink Princess is coming up, just need to remove mine from its location, which is kinda tricky at the moment 😅

I initially purchased a white princess from Sweden 4-5 years ago. I’ve definitely noticed a huge increase in white variegation in the stem and leaves when they’re kept in my milsbo under grow lights. By chance do you know the history of the philodendron Anderson? I purchased one last fall from Indonesia and was told it’s a cross between the pink princess and white knight. The internodal spacing is so short that I fear taking a cutting without losing a leaf. Help!

Is that a Rhipsalis in the background. It’s beautiful.

It gets topheavy and the bottom atem is way thinner because it wants to cling to something.

Try sealing the wound on the plant after you take the cutting
@kathybrintlinger9993
@kathybrintlinger9993 2 года назад
That’s an interesting thought. I just assume it’s the plant’s response to the added stress of being forced to resume growth from scratch. The white is just an added burden since it doesn’t aide in energy production.

I think the white princess is easier then the pink princess as they don't get their leaves stuck

There's the Philodendron Anderson or what it's called that has white, pink and orange o: If they sold it at the same price as a white princess, it'd be so cheap q_q I still need it

In Europe you now get the Philodendron White Family (Princess, Knight and Wizard) for 15€. So the price definitely went down. A few months ago I paid 30 for a baby White Knight. I have a White Knight (I love the burgundy stem and the white/green leaves) and it has pink splashes too. But with the White Knight I think the colour bleeds out from the stems.

I’ve killed so many of these and the pink princess. I find them more difficult than anthuriums 😅
