Instead of record labels buying artist chains & cars. They should buy the artist a 700 k house & put 500 k in their bank. Also they should teach their artist how to manage their money & build credit
What are you talking about? Record labels give the artists advance money and the artists are the ones buying chains instead of homes. It's their fault not the label lol..
If it wasn’t for Jay Z snitching to Lyor cohen how all the Black major labels back in the early 2000s were going to link up to cut the white man out that would have been a reality. Smh
All the label shit Jim Jones went through he prolly told him day 1, Fuck a label, they only good for promo and with his bars they woulda shelved him or held him up. He already gotta fanbase anyways.
That's true cause cam'ron went through the same shit before he had signed to rocafella and he had a bad deal with sony and they wanted him to put out 7 albums before his contract was up but he reached out to dame and they came up with a settlement and brought him out of his contract and started learning how to be a boss with the independent route as well as having distribution.
Jim Jones was smart enough to go indie around 2005/2006. He only did joint ventures with major labels. Juelz couldn't do that and was tied up with Def Jam in a 360. He couldn't drop shyt.
You Can’t Make Somebody That’s Already Somebody On His Own Niggaz That’s As Real As Guys Like Philthy Don’t Need No Co-Signs Or a Label Or Promo He Has A lot Of Fans.
@@toominEmovez Ima just suggest you go watch some russ interviews good place to start is the itsthereal podcast he did, the joe budden interview, delusional self confidence jay shetty, drink Champs, and self made tastes better. He has a book you can listen to the audio version of him saying it rn on RU-vid for free. He explains it better than I could and really does give full transparency and has the formula to independent success. Check it out
Sounds like you owing your car, then they front you 2 years gas money for ownership of your car then when the gas money runs out you cant bust a move and you dont have a car anymore.
@@jasonanthony6582 roc nation approached him, he spoke on that in another interview, solange husband who was introduced to his music via Emory to be exact
Roc nation tried to sucker punch Philthy with that give up your back catalog shit, hell naw that catalog will pay you for life and your kids life and so on!!!
Dude said "THEY wanted to do a deal with me WITH Roc Nation." For the dummies who are deaf. THEY meaning another label wanting to partner with Roc Nation. Listen!
@@ntbroz7315 yessir/ma’am wouldn’t that be even worse being signed to a negu that signed to a negu after being independent for 20 plus. Nevertheless, good move to avoid the finesse. #LoveAndRespect #ManTime
@@CharlesASmithJr No, Philthy did do the right thing, but he was getting hussled by another label, not Roc Nation. RN only does parterships, whatever that other label was were the ones that tried to work the 360. That's all i was trying to say.
Offering a multi- millionaire peanuts!, and a screwed up deal!, Aspiring artists take heed ta this man's manuevers!, Real baller's in the wild, wild, west, loving yo shine!!!
Interviewer don’t have a clue what he talking bout man… Philithy - explains why he ain’t take the deal Interviewer- proceeds to ask why he ain’t sign a deal
You can’t make someone NOT want the top spot so I understand why Philthy wants that attention of a superstar rapper. But I just hope it doesn’t make him depressed if he doesn’t reach the superstar level. Everyone can’t be Jordan or Lebron. You gotta be content and thankful to be a Robert Horry, or Tony kukoach, or manu ginobilli. You gotta be content with your blessings philthy. They’res millions of ppl that can’t make it to your position or level that would Love to
Let’s just stop the cap he isn’t a touring artist. Roc nation / Live nation has a monopoly on most relevant venues in America. That being said his catalog is deep AF
Nigga what do you mean he ain’t had a bad verse yet? Bro out of all the tapes he put out there are only a few songs that slap outta each cd he put out and you talking about he ain’t had a bad verse lmao blood you trippin.. count how many songs he made that longer then just 3 mins
@@dbafterthatbag6477 that’s your opinion but I’d disagree we all feel different type of music that boy on fire 🔥 people would say philty weak but I’d disagree the stuff he rap bout ain’t for everybody so that don’t mean he weak if you broke never grind, pimp or reach a certain level in them streets you can’t relate! Yo opinion your though to me Lil baby ain’t missed yet
Another thing about California is it’s really diverse. We got alot of suckas and nerds all in the mix who wouldn’t have an opinion in other states. Plus mfs love to magnify your flaws out west not much authenticity in the majority of the people out west, it’s a different culture
@@dbafterthatbag6477your name db after the bag. Naming your self after Db bouta bag from Sacramento who also trash 🤣 like shut yo game goofy ass up. Like I said most rappers outta Cali trash. Only a handful of artists coming out the West really got talent. .
Never fall for "They gon do" why ? That's not a guarantee that move is going to work more prosperous than the one you've already been setting in motion for self. I feel best thing a label can do for someone like a Philthy is pay him to be him and just amplify his music outside the bay and into other coasts for more exposure and see if the people take it.
Yep!!! Slowly but surely... They will be waiting till your down bad!!! Nipsey understand what the bible said... The race isn't given to the swift, in any race period... It's a marathon... It's about Endurance!!! We don't understand that at times!!! And also stop talking about this and that so much!!! Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves!!! Understand how the serpent works but don't follow in his tracks sort of say
Major deals are ONLY for rappers who can sell hits! Lil uzi made 5 million off ONE song and his cut was 900 thousand from the label.. kinda shitty deal but rappers can barley make a big hit tho so 😂
Being from Oakland Philthy keeping it a Buck. It's Always the Politics bruh str8 up niggas like Philthy is blessed because his camp is solid. But as a whole if you trying to be independent from California then it's tuff because so much gang shit.
Lol he wouldn’t have gotten shit Bc of his old music but they would’ve but since he didn’t he got his money off his old shit that’s crazy he would’ve been fucked😂🤦🏾♂️
Philthy wanna be a superstar so bad I don’t think he appreciates the position he’s in now. He gotta take a look at Young Dolph and how he’s running his label independently. Go listen to Young Dolph’s “Big Facts Podcast” episode with big bank black and young dolph breaks down the industry and being independent
