I love how Phil is like that one character in a musical who's like "why are you singing. When did you choreograph this dance. What am I missing here???" While everyone just ignores them.
His views are literally mine lmao, on one hand the facts in Geosquare's and Karl Jobst's videos seem to be against Dream, on the other, I watched Dream get interviewed by DarkViperAU and he seemed very reasonable and honest, I just don't know what to think. Also your original comment has 1.3K likes egg.
@@Roberto577_One unfortunately dream's answer has already been debunked. It seems that his calculations and logic had a lot of flaws, so basically is invalid, while those of geosquare still stands
@@C1azed Besides r/statics, where people put their name, degree ecc... (they were more than qualified on the matter) and just proved his calculations were wrong. You can go and read the or search a video on RU-vid. But if you want only a video Karl Jabs and Antvenom did a really good and informed video about it. In the end from all their conclusions, Dream cheated.
It’s like, who cares! As long as the content is remotely entertaining does it really matter? I mean it’s not like he’s breaking the law or anything (or at least I don’t think he is...)
@@OhsweetOhno it matters to the speed running community, mainly because its competitive atmosphere damns cheaters. Despite Dream's good content, this isn't really about if he gets "cancelled" online, but if he or his run gets disqualified from the leaderboard.
@@OhsweetOhno To hell with that. People like you excusing stuff Like this are so bad. It hurts the speed running community, thing if the multiple people who have worked hard to get to where they are and just to have their position overtaken by a cheater. It’s NOT OKAY. IT NEVER WILL BE. STOP EXCUSING DREAM, If he cheated, then he’s a disgrace to speed running and deserves scrutiny, if he didn’t, then he’s fine.
@@Lucien_M the run already got removed and dream said he wont try to ask to add it back So for me atleast its over no matter how many more people make videos
phil is representing literally all the people who realized they don’t care after dream’s response -edit- where’d all the chill comments go who the fuck started this debate🤧
I just thought, “Oh ok so Dream’s getting accused.” Then he released his response video and I thought, “Oh so they’re wrong.” But then I realised I couldn’t tell which was right or wrong so I just left it at that
I saw people talking about new drama and I just went nopeee, and never looked at it again, and I have to say, I am happier like this, idk what's happening, and im fine with it.
@@sammysaito529 Accusations about cheating are way different from sexual assault/groomers. On an kinda related note, I'd rather people go to court about that rather than just attempting to cancel. Because the amount of times I've seen a supposed groomer not get taken to court when they totally could is frustrating.
This is literally me dude. My brother visited for Christmas and he kept bringing up the Dream thing, positive that he cheated and the whole time I was just like "listen, dude, I honestly don't know who to believe. I couldn't care less about what that green blob man is doing I just want to watch technoblade in peace" Edit: It seems I have drawn in a lot of Techno simps. Allow us to all respectfully simp together Edit: as someone who genuinely supported dream and didn't think he cheated, it's pretty disappointing to see that he did. The way he handles controversy is beyond me, and I don't understand how an adult would respond like that. I empathize for him and I hope he gets better and makes it up to the people who supported him and continue to support him despite this.
Bruh my brain just dipped after the first document. It almost returned with Dreams but then I was even more confoosed when people said that Dreams was wrong, then people started saying that stats are hard, and my brain hasn’t returned since.
@@user-gp6zr8bx2m He did cheat though because everyone with a platform who has joined the drama has proven so, even a confirmed particle astrophysicist has proven dream wrong. All I see in the comments is dream fans being ignorant about dream cheating, which is such a shit way to deal with drama.
@@user-gp6zr8bx2m "I didn't ask" Then don't reply, or just ignore it. Also you can't just say it's good, and then not provide a point for it being good. If you're going to make a statement, actually back it up for once
@@user-gp6zr8bx2m I think I should be a bit more clear too, what I mean is that people should be held accountable for fucking up, then denying that they did so. I'm not that angry at the fact that dream cheated, but that he went and denied it, staining the speedrun community. Though i agree drama can be toxic and stressful, this dream drama is more about facts and not a 'they did that' 'they did this'
That’s literally me with the whole drama 😂 I watched dream’s video and I was like “So he’s right? that’s all good then” before realising I didn’t actually understand anything that he was saying
Good, because he was lying in that video. His only real point is like "CLOUT CHASER" which is wrong, a moderator needs to give proof as to why he (Dream) cheated. Dream is a liar and we shouldn't trust him. He didnt hire anybody, he did that math himself and got it wrong. His pearl and blaze odds are still VERY high.
@@user-gp6zr8bx2m you really think a professional would make mistakes and not say who he is? he wouldnt make mistakes and you need to say his name to verify that it's real. if he didnt do it himself, then he got a random friend to do it. not a professional
"How quick can you get the death message that you want because my god it's taking forever maybe it's RNG based maybe 1 in 7 trillion of getting this is correct mathematics I don't know maybe I should hire somebody to do the mathematics for me because I'm not smart, I looked at that page, I looked at that huge document that was written about Dream and I looked and I was so confused, I just agreed, I just said maybe that's right, maybe I don't know, I'll wait for Dream's message, I waited for his response, and I watched his response I was like yeah maybe that's right, and I realised I'm not reading like anywhere near I'm not understanding any of this, I am still within the middle, I saw two people do things with facts, and I'm still confused, so who cares."
My brain is melting alongside Phil's, never watched any videos but apparently reddit is of the opinion "Dream's run is fishy but both parties did the math wrong"? I don't know but still don't care.
r/statistics have said the mod team's paper is mostly correct, but Dream's astrophysicist's paper is full of amateurish errors. Based on their own calculations (which result in even worse odds than the mod team's), r/statistics have concluded that Dream cheated.
@@tyoidbone that is untrue. statistics literally prove nothing. they just prove that the odds are too great to verify the run. which is what the mod team said in the first place. Dream isn't trying to argue that the run is unverifiable, only that he didn't cheat and that his name shouldn't be dragged through the mud.
@@RiskOfRayne this, also means there would have to be an average for how lucky a person can be which is just fucking stupid. Literally could’ve just asked him to do more speed runs with a certified anti cheat and all the issues would be solved.
@@RiskOfRayne What are you saying is untrue? That statistical experts agree with the mods' math and that Dream's drop rates could not be obtained legitimately? You can read the r/statistics post with their critique of Dream's rebuttal paper for yourself: www.reddit.com/r/statistics/comments/kiqosv/d_accused_minecraft_speedrunner_who_was_caught/ggse2er/?context=3 www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/kp2cfj/dreams_luck_fits_pretty_well_in_what_you_would/ is a good post that shows that the drop rates Dream match what you would get if you modify the ender pearl weight to 80. What we can't tell is if Dream intentionally changed the rates or was unintentionally using modified rates. I feel that his behavior is a good indicator that he intentionally cheated. He accused the mods of cherry-picking and bias, when they clearly show how they already have calculated the best odds for him and originally offered a third party analyst, which Dream refused because he thought they would be biased. He then finds his own anonymous expert (by his own logic they must be biased towards him, right?) who makes many mistakes in their paper such as incorrect math, incorrect code, as well as correcting for things that have already been corrected by the mod team, and still comes up with 1 in 100 million odds, which is still close to impossible odds. He then cherry-picks 1 in 10 million from this paper (the odds the "astrophysicist" calculated if all 11 streams were considered, which is not the correct way to analyse the 6 suspicious streams - see the first reddit link), and creates the gold block example which is also incorrectly done math (you don't subtract denominators to compare odds, you divide them). People who don't understand the math see the many gold blocks and assume Dream is right, when it's all just a distraction from the fact that the astrophysicist still comes up with close to impossible odds. He also uses quotes from multiple anonymous people, which means no one can verify if their statements are true. He then starts censoring his subreddit, which he is a mod of, banning the verifed PhD particle physicist on reddit who debunked his paper, as well as anyone else who made any criticism of him, causing a whole new subreddit to be formed just so that people could discuss what was going on without being banned. He has also shadow-banned the words "reddit," "statistics," "suspicious," "cheat," and "debunk" from comments on his response video. His actions have been highly manipulative, which is not typically what someone who is innocent would do.
the drama made me realize marie kondo’s (i forgot how to spell her name sorry if wrong) “does this bring joy” applies to not only cleaning but life as well, in this case content intake !
This is so incredibly spot on. I don't understand the math and I don't completely trust either party, so if I picked a side it would literally be based on preference.
The fact that in the background Phil is constantly jumping off the same cliff, falling the same way and crashing into the same spot of said cliff every time... It's just so satisfying to me.
Same, I first saw the mods report, and I was like "oh, so Dream cheated cause of math." But then I saw the response, and then I thought "oh I guess he didn't." Then I watched all the people weighing in on either side and I just gave up.
