Ferb, I know what we're gonna do today: showcase everything that can be accessed on our show's DVD releases!
Originally, this channel served as a back-up archive for the main videos from my main RU-vid channel, "Jason the Cartoon Fan", since that channel was once in serious danger of getting terminated.
However, now that my main channel is completely safe from getting taken down, I'm retooling THIS channel into the one-stop destination for all my installments in a series of uploads that I've wanted to do regularly for a very long time, but couldn't until now, due to me previously lacking the technology to do so in the best possible quality (i.e. not from a camera filming my TV set): videos showcasing the openings and closings to, and menus for, my giant collection of physical media releases! For the time being, only DVDs will be featured, as these videos are being made possible by a disc drive I just ordered for my PC that just plays those discs. However, I'm totally interested in also covering my Blu-ray library as soon as I can afford a PC disc drive that plays them!
If the cheeky reference at the top of this description and the title of the video weren't big enough clues for you, by popular vote, the first DVDs I'm ever going to showcase the openings/closings to and menus for are all the releases I currently own of Disney's most iconic animated series ever, Phineas and Ferb! I don't own all of that show's DVD releases yet (I'm missing A Very Perry Christmas, Mission: Marvel, and the rare bonus discs from Toys R Us), but I do have the vast majority of them, and I'll cover the missing discs as soon as I can get my hands on them.
We begin our journey with the very first DVD of the series that ever came out - The Fast and the Phineas, released on July 29, 2008.
Not only is it the only Phineas and Ferb DVD to have full color artwork on its disc label (as opposed to the bland grey color scheme that Disney would use for nearly all their future non-Pixar DVDs), but the release is also notable for containing the episode "One Good Scare Ought to Do It!" approximately three months ahead of its first television airing in the United States (October 3, 2008).
Oddly, the menus for the DVD are presented in widescreen, while the episodes featured on the disc (which were also produced in widescreen) have sadly been cropped to 4x3 (matching the aspect ratio of their original Disney Channel broadcasts).
Here's a list of everything you'll see in this overview of the DVD...
OPENING:
1.) FBI Warnings and Bonus Feature Disclaimer
2.) "Only One Disney" Promo, with the 2007-13 Walt Disney Home Entertainment logo appearing at the end
3.) Disney's FastPlay selection screen (side note: I'm probably the only person in the world who ever willingly used FastPlay)
4.) Sleeping Beauty: Platinum Edition Blu-ray and DVD promo
5.) "Wizards of Waverly Place": Wizard School DVD commercial
6.) Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert DVD ad (groan!)
7.) Camp Rock DVD promo
8.) Disney Movie Rewards instructional video
9.) Disney DVD logo (2007-14)
10.) Phineas and Ferb intro
CLOSING:
1.) End credits for the episode "It's About Time!"
2.) Phineas and Ferb pitch pilot, featuring co-creator Dan Povenmire (side note: isn't it odd that the episode that this pitch pilot got reworked into, "Rollercoaster!", wasn't included on the DVD?)
3.) "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody": Lip Synchin' in the Rain DVD commercial
4.) Minutemen DVD ad
5.) "Wizards of Waverly Place": "Coming Soon to Disney Channel" promo (an odd inclusion, considering that this DVD came out a few months AFTER Wizard of Waverly Place's premiere on Disney Channel)
6.) The Secret of the Magic Gourd Blu-ray and DVD promo
7.) DVD menus
I tried really hard to showcase the "Phineas and Ferb's Homemade Tree Shade Arcade" DVD set-top games included on this disc, but my PC wouldn't budge getting that part of the DVD working beyond the introduction and game selection menu. Hopefully, the Blu-ray disc drive I'm saving up money for will be of a much higher build quality so I can revisit those DVD games in a later video.
That's it! Stay TOONed for when the next chronologically released Phineas and Ferb DVD gets its time to shine!
DISCLAIMER: This video is NOT made specifically for kids, but for EVERYBODY.

This was one of the last two Disney/Buena Vista DVDs to use the 2005-2008 Sneak Peeks menu (outside of surprise appearences).
