For anyone wondering about the tuning, it's nashville open B tuning. so the strings are tuned to like B-F#-b-D#-F#-b with the first 4 strings being like up an octave to where you'd expect them to be. So the lowest string is basically a perfect fifth up from where it would be in standard tuning, and so on, and then the top string is the B a perfect 4th down from where it would be in standard, and the standard B string is down a P4 as well. then it's basically just a case of learning ur open D voicings and ur good
Day off in Kyoto Got bored at the temple Looked around at the 7-Eleven The band took the speed train Went to the arcade I wanted to go, but I didn't You called me from a payphone They still got payphones It cost a dollar a minute To tell me you're getting sober And you wrote me a letter But I don't have to read it I'm gonna kill you If you don't beat me to it Dreaming through Tokyo skies I wanted to see the world Then I flew over the ocean And I changed my mind (Woo) Sunset's been a freak show On the weekend, so I've been driving out to the suburbs To park at the Goodwill And stare at the chem trails With my little brother He said you called on his birthday You were off by like ten days But you get a few points for tryin' Remember getting the truck fixed When you let us drive it Twenty-five felt like flying I don't forgive you But please don't hold me to it Born under Scorpio skies I wanted to see the world Through your eyes until it happened Then I changed my mind Guess I lied I'm a liar Who lies 'Cause I'm a liar
@UCAdmHVOi05dElZ4woZszMAg Yep, I just watched the video of her tuning and this is what I got as well. I'm going to try it tuned an octave down since that's super high.
just good acoustics, she's playing in like open B, i have no idea what string setup she's using, it sounds like maybe nashville tuning or something, i'm actually stumped. but it's basically open D (DADF#AE) but with everything tuned down so it's open B. the resonating open strings of the tuning create the layered sound.
As for the strings, I would say it's a set of Nashville tuning strings. I have it on one of my guitars. It creates a completely different soundscape, can be used as the ”poor man's twelve-string”.😀 From Wikipedia... ”Nashville or high strung tuning refers to the practice of replacing the wound E, A, D and G strings on a six-string guitar with lighter gauge strings to allow tuning an octave higher than standard. This is usually achieved by using one string from each of the six courses of a twelve string set, using the higher string for those courses tuned in octaves...”
