Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden.
This first week of May is the best time to view the beautiful blooming of our Palo Verde tree (the trunk of this desert native tree is green and has chlorophyll) with luscious yellow flowers spread al over the tree tops which is also littering the floor below. This wonderful sight is equal to the famous Cherry Blossoms you see in Japan and other places. You will also see a sculpture by the famous Fernando Botero a renowned Colombian painter and sculptor .
A total of 50,000 desert plants from all over the world with only about 25-30 % are native to our Sonoran desert environment.
You will see a pair of desert lizards probably looking for some insect to eat in the morning. You will also see the butterfly garden too.
