This comes out the same year as Proving Ground and this game presents itself as some guy's Create-a-Park levels in a game developed by people who have never made or played a skateboarding game before... marvelous. If this Hawktober has taught me anything, it's that I should definitely check out Evolution Skateboarding, cuz it looks sick!

Jak, let me tell you. Out of all the Tony Hawk related videos I've watched on this platform, the Hawktober stuff you do is BY FAR the best. Amazing effort on editing and review quality paired for a great personality... honestly, I hope you're proud of the videos you've done on the subject thus far, because they are all TOP NOTCH. I have such a nostalgic soft spot for this era of gaming, though it's still incredible how shameless shovelware publishers could get. There was certainly both good and bad this Hawktober and I think you did a great balance in highlighting the positive aspects of these games but also going ham with your rants! And this one was quite deserving of it. A great final entry this year in what has become a legitimate tradition I look forward to!

For a second I felt angry that you played one of the legendary Tim Follin's chiptunes to this horrible gameplay, but then I remembered that most of his music was made for terrible games. So I guess I'm actually here to say: Good music choice, man.

Just found out more about this ... it was not made by Phoenix ... it was first a PC game called "Vilniaus Riedlentes" from 2006 , made by Uxus Games from Lithuanian ... then this PC version was ported over to PS2

I remember seeing this abomination of a "Skateboarding Game" on a Caddicarus Episode all about Skateboarding Games.

And this game is supposedly the "Xtreme Edition" yet I fail to see what's so xtreme about it. Maybe it drives the player's insanity to the extreme? But since this game released in 2007, the time where the amount of skateboarding games were starting to wear thin, this most definitely faded into obscurity, if it were released much earlier, say, 2003-2004, then it would have been somewhat relevant with all the skateboarding games, but the game itself wouldn't have been any better.

It's honestly refreshing to have a tradition this time of year that doesn't have anything to do with spooky stuff. While I do still enjoy the influx of Halloween shit this time of year it's nice to have something else to look forward to as well. By the way, did you decide on October because most game reviewers do Halloween stuff? I know Australia doesn't care much for the holiday so I could see you doing something different just for that reason.

Now that this HawkTober is over this begs the question: what’s even left for SkateBoarding games?

Throughout this year’s Hawktober, I tried to imagine what a lot of the levels from these games would be like in THUG2PRO, because despite the controls and stability from some of the games showcased this year being quite janky, the levels could at least be salvaged with the much superior THUG2 engine and gameplay. There’s absolutely no saving Skateboard Madness, though. It genuinely looks like it was designed by a 6 year-old who nonsensically spammed ramps and half-pipes across the place, with everything else cobbled together by a small handful fresh out of college (at most) in half a year, not unlikely since essentially all Phoenix Games titles were made under that amount of time.

Next year for Hawktober, I'd suggest checking out Backyard Skateboarding on PC. Both the 2004 original and the less-than-stellar 2005 GOTY edition.
