What I took from this was that Riff gets so much joy from me asking people happy on and off camera, Caleb's perspective is understandable but he comes off as a guy set in his ways, an old man in a young man's body, Riff seems grateful! For every opportunity to brighten someone's day, be it a close friend or a total stranger, there's a number of Caleb's videos where his happiness is all that matters and no one else's, truthfully I admire how riff always looks at the bright side of everything I would love to see one episode that gets everyone together, Rick, Mikey, gabbo, NES complex, everyone that's been either in or involved with the crew
I'm an Introvert in some ways. Having someone like Riff to bring the energy and carry conversation is such a perk to me..That said, this conversation was hilarious
This is hilarious and I can relate to both of yall. Sometimes I'm talking non-stop and super hyper and then as soon as my energy is gone I need to decompress and have some quiet time. I think it's an overstimulation thing and when it hits it's just too much. I'll relax for like 10 - 15 minutes and i'll just have headphones in or whatever and then after that I'm usually good to go.
Games in early 90s was cool experience, buying computer/console magazine, being able rent games from video shop, actual original games and only being able get a physical copie of a game. I miss those days lol
There’s so many gaming channels out there and a lot of them just annoy me for whatever reason but I think most of the ones you guys are connected to I really enjoy and look forward to new uploads! I’m hoping you were able to get all of them on the podcast when they were out for the expo! I agree with Riff and Chris (I was born in 85 too) on games of the 90s and I think Caleb and Curtis are just young enough to not remember those systems like we do so it makes sense. I love my Switch but the SNES is still my favorite by far! And when are you getting Curtis’s mom on the podcast, we all want you to have her on! 😉😉
Lastly: Caleb seems to have some stuff he learned as a child from who id assume would be his father. My speculation is Caleb’s dad was probably very strict and assertive but also very loving. Caleb learned from a young age to just be straight up with people rather than to be a yes man. These people tend to be very successful but receive a lot of blowback because people like him don’t sugarcoat anything. Which could be very abrasive to much more sensitive and compassionate people like me. But at the end of the day, I’d much rather someone be upfront and honest with me and to give it to me straight than to pretend to give a dang about what I’m saying or doing. I might not agree with Caleb’s obsessive money chase but I do understand where he’s coming from and I don’t think he’s trying to be offensive. He likes things to be out in the open where people can see it.
Aaron, you do talk too much. I actually don't think Ricky is a quiet guy I just think you talk too much and steal the energy away from Ricky. Please don't take this comment as negative because you do a great job with your videos, but I think if you talked just a LITTLE bit less I think that would give Ricky more room to talk a bit more. I'm also a quite type of guy, but that doesn't mean we don't like to talk and be social but when we are around people who talk too much sometimes you just steal all of the energy away from other people. I hope you take this as positive criticism. None of us are perfect and I like the energy between you and Ricky and we can always better ourselves! Much love, brother!
About the 90's being the best gaming era - I'd say it's objectively subjective. People like all manner of different things and you'll find every kind of gamer out there. The fact that there are so many indie titles inspired from older games and younger audiences are enjoying them shows that they do have stay and relevance more than what people might make it out to be, and sometimes that can lead to them viewing those older eras of gaming with a new set of eyes and finding something to appreciate. I grew up in the 90s and when I started to play my old games, they weren't as fluid/fun as I remembered it. Then when I discovered indie games they were objectively better and has better mechanics that were more engaging. So yes, nostalgia does play a big factor on people being more biased on their preferences.
When an immovable force meets an immovable object. They are both right. No one is wrong in this situation. Personally I’m with Caleb on this and I would’ve been a lot more gentle and upfront about it instead of letting it bubble over. But then again Riff is full of zeal and knows he’s abundantly blessed and his light shines. To answer the question about Riff and his energy, it’s a God given ability. To have incredible motivation and energy and then to be able to sleep on command is a blessing. He’s just a happy dude.
Curtis is awesome. Great episode, love that y'all aren't afraid to discuss sensitive topics. I agree with Caleb though... Riff, you want to keep the podcast clean, but there's no way I could listen to it with my kids due to the sexual references 🤦
You can tell Caleb is a new gamer! Super Mario world is the only game that I think is possibly worth a perfect 10! It's just simply brilliant! The 16 bit wars was the best time to be alive in gaming and the games still stand up today! Super Mario world, street fighter 2 turbo on the snes super castlevania, pilot Wings the list goes on and on Megadrive Revenge of shinobi and Golden axe streets of rage there are so many great games in this era it's ridiculous in the UK we loved the Amiga aswell! Modern games don't come close! I'm 44 this year and have been gaming since around 1984 till today and still love gaming its a massive part of my life but retro games all the way there just better 💯. Keep up the good work guys really like every member of the squad including Caleb I know he gets alot of hate but I think most people just don't understand where he's coming from that's all! No innovation with most modern games. Just rehashing IP and design ideas from the 80s and 90s (and 00s too). Losing Sega really hurt the industry since they took the most risk, even though Nintendo still tries (wii, 3ds). Modern games did bring in microtransactions and added crypto gaming and VR, so there is some innovation, just nothing that gets me excited personally

Every Zelda game was so different each release?!!! The reason they made BOTW was because of how STALE Zelda had become. Especially after Skyward Sword.
I think Riff's view of life has a lot to do with it, stemming from his faith/religious views. Thoughts create energy and that affects one's state of being, it's a cycle reinforced by thoughts, and in Riff's case, positive thoughts.
About that last one wich one is better has a really easy awnser: There is no correct awnser to that question. If a kid has ever played a gaming system before or not is not relevant cause it all depends on "What he/she has been growing up with in THAT timeline" If you get a snes dropped in front of you in 2024 as first console, that will be your pick and same goes for if you get a switch dropped on your lap in 2002, then that will be your pick 🤷♂️ There is no wrong or right here cause its different from person to person ✌️
I disagree with Caleb on Final Fantasy. I didn't play one until my late 20s and Final Fantasy II and III are my favorites, without the nostalgia factor.
For anyone saying that todays games are better than Snes games. Just ask em whats the best tune in the game and proceed to sing music from FF6, CT, SMW, DKC, F-Zero, Star Fox, SoM, MMX, Street Fighter 2, Gradius 3, Turtles in time, Super Turrican, Actraiser and Castlevania IV or even Gooftroop, Super Mario Kart, Killer Instict, Sparkster, Un Squadron, Killer Instinct and Cotton 100%

Main reason 90s games were better is you put the game in the system and start playing. Now with a new game it's update the system! Update the game! Even update the freaking controller!
I feel like Riff may have not fully played TOTK, based on his opinion of the game. Everyone I know who has played it has a positive opinion on the game. They understand it’s WAYYY MORE than a DLC. The game is so good it basically makes BOTW, which is one of the best games of ALL TIME, unplayable. TOTK is an unreal game!
These pesellers never leave games for us regular collectors who just wanna collect the games to play! Esp at those game CONventions! There the 1st ones in before the doors open to get all the good stuff!🤷♂️

Caleb is wrong. Kids just like to play games. It doesn't matter if it's retro or contemporary, though all kids will have something to say about games with very primitive graphics (Atari, Coleco, Intellivision). I've had my friend over with his kids (10 & 8) and they love talking about Super Mario World and Link to the Past as much as Mario Odyssey and Tears of the Kingdom. A good game is a good game.

*90s were way better games. Back when games had full effort. Developers made sure they had it right. Modern games have day 1 patches because a lot of them are rushed trash.*
I would say gaming was better in the 90s. Sure new games might look better or have "real" music soundtracks but the gaming experience has suffered from bloat, live service, technical issues, overly complex controls and mostly piss poor storytelling.
I really like Caleb's, but he is SOOOOOOOO Wrong. So he his trying to prove a point that new games are better than old games and brings up FINAL FANTASY 7 REMAKE... REMAKE... Read again... REMAKE... Caleb, the the old games are better, and that's why the market is full of remakes and remasters... Game developers now have like 0 imagination...
