I do no social media at all. That was my first ever public comment. your heart icon back made my day and I could see you laughing and petting you lap warmer. I pick up 2019 Zion tomorrow at 3pm. Yard sale all weekend scrambling for the down payment. Can I keep in touch a little bit?
I laughed so hard I cried at that blooper ending. We just got a new long (159” wheel base) Promaster hightop cargo van to build out. Definitely NOT gonna put a sink in the bathroom area. It looks like your bathroom is one molded piece of fiberglass? It would be awesome to order that without a sink. Wonder if that’s possible. Also wondering if we could put a composting toilet in there instead of having a black tank. I’m guessing a molded piece is going to have a big hole for a toilet to drain in to.. so much to think about. It that’s why we got a big empty box to build out. Stuff like using Rockwool insulation with a huge R value and it’s made from lava rock so it won’t hold moisture and it’s sound deadening too. Good to know we need to put it on the back doors. Thanks for the pros and cons video y’all did. 😃
BearUkulele We have considered 4x4 but really like the front wheel drive. It handles great and can really maneuver in tight spaces. We do cover some rough country though:) Have not needed 4 wheel drive but a bit more clearance would be nice. Working on some ideas for that. Thanks for watching!!
I would love to go to one of these Class B RV shows. It would just be cool to look over all the different rigs out there. I just purchased a 2017 Chevy Roadtrek and I can't wait to get it!!I enjoy your videos!
Tracy C Congrats on the Roadtrek! So exciting! It was really fun check out all the Class B RV's at the show. Do your research before you go though, last year we went to an "RV Palooza" which claimed to have Class B's but there wasn't a single one to be found. Bummer! The one in Phoenix is one of the best. Thanks for following along, maybe our paths will cross along the road somewhere. 😎🚐
While camped in some cold weather we took the back door panels off and used some sleeping bag material. Not sure I’d do the same thing next time but it did help. You have to be careful around the moving parts though. And I assume over time it will settle from all the rough roads we find ourselves on:) If you try something that works better let us know!
Ive been to Montezuma's well (which i think was the name). An interesting place. There's a small opening to a huge underground area. All night it sucks in cool air and blows it out during the heat of the day. I remember thinking I knew where the head guy sat.
Funny you ask that, Robert. We recently debated that as we investigated all the class B’s at the Tampa RV Show, link here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nn0G_RO4VUs.html To summarize, the answer is no we would not get the full size Zion. We really thought about it and came back to the SRT. It’s just the perfect rig for us!
Hi! New to your channel and enjoy your relaxed and honest style. I am wondering what you thought of the Hymer? Roadtrek and Hymer are the two front runners for us as we move towards retirement and heading out to explore North America with long stretches on the road. I am looking for all the information and real life experiences I can get before we buy.
My guess is that you're not the first or last to trip on that ledge. I was wondering if you could do a video on your bike rack some time? You guys need tons more subscribers. Great channel.
Haha at the end! 😊 This was a really fun video -- I liked the variety of things going on & the RV show looked pretty cool. Thank you for sharing your journeys with RU-vid. I'm enjoying your adventures a lot!
I just found you and subscribed. I live just a few miles from the cards stadium and can't wait for next rv show. I also found roadtrec a few days ago and want to see them. I am interested in the cs 4x4 extended with all the solar and all electric. Lots of money i know but perfect for me.
Ron Hunter that sounds perfect, it may be more expensive than some others but it's all relative. If you know what you want and can do it, go for it! Life is not meant to be lived from an armchair! Not positive we are going to the RV Show next year but hope to, maybe we will see you there!! 👍🏼🚐
I just found you guys today, Easter 2018! My wife and I am considering going full time class b motorhome. Will be going to first RV show in 15 days. I know nothing about anything dealing with RV’s. My In-laws had a 40 footer, I’m looking at most 24 feet. I’ll be paying cash, selling my home. Any tips appreciated, Thanks, Dave
Happy Easter David! When we went full time a year an a half ago we had no clue and knew nothing about RV’s. The best advice I have is to maintain a positive attitude. Roll with the punches. Things are going to happen and knowing that in advance helps. It will all be part of the adventure! Watch some of our other videos like, “Will it all fit,” “how we camp for free”, and we did videos for the Phoenix and Tampa rv shows. There are more but we’ve done so many:) keep us posted and if you have specific questions, feel free to message us!
Exciting--Hope you consulted Pistol about possibly traveling to Canada? Thanks for the video. I know how much work goes into filming and editing from just doing family shots over the years. Peace and adventure be with you.
I think Pistol will quite enjoy Canada, lots of wide open spaces! Putting the videos together is a labor of love, emphasis on the labor part. ;) I always get really excited when I figure out how to do something new with the editing. So many features it is overwhelming! Really glad you are following along and sharing our adventures. :)
The CS Adventurous seems to be most people's favorite Roadtrek, including me. It's a great balance between storage space and living space, and there are tons of electronics\power options available. The cost is pretty high if you load it up with solar, lithium batteries, under-hood generator, radiant heat, etc, but it'll be the last rig you ever have to buy. Roadtrek has had some quality issues over the years, but everything inside the van is warrantied for 6 years. BTW, love your frenchy!
D LG it is a pretty sweet ride!! You're right, it would probably be the last rig you would ever need. 👍🏼 Pistol gets mistaken for a Frenchie a lot but she is a Boston Terrier...and the star of the channel!! Thanks for watching!🐶🚐☀️
John Puccetti Good to know. We are very happy with our front wheel drive gas Dodge. We hope to ship it to Europe in a few years. Still have a lot to see here. Off to Canada soon!
I worked on MB and I will never own one... There rust buckets. There is never a dealer near by when you need service. Then if you do get lucky. They have you up next in 4 weeks for service or repair. Then maybe 2 months waiting for parts. So when the warranty runs out. Sell it.. it will cost you a fortune to repair. Love Dave's imitation a Jerry Lewis.
Considering a Zion for better manueverability but concerned about storage space. Just getting into RVing as retired folk. Bought a used Pleasure Way Pursuit and storage is not an issue. Where do you store the power cord, fresh water hose and sewer hose, etc? Where do you store your kayak. Also do you have the side couches or the rear couch. Lastly do you prefer the Ram gas engine over a diesel? Lot of questions but appreciate your thoughts as we try to find the right van for us. Thanks. David
We love the Zion. We have the SRT which comes in at 19.5' and since it is so short we can easily park it anywhere. Ours has the couch along the back door. We leave the bed down permanently and so that gives us some extra storage under the bed. That is where the inflatable kayak is. We would like to get a roof rack and put the kayak up there, that would free up some more space inside. All the hoses and cords are stored under the back of the bed/couch and are accessible through the back door. We love the van and it is surprising how much you can actually fit in here. Thus far the gas engine has been just fine, I'm not sure about taking it overseas, diesel might be easier to find. We are a few years away from that so we will have to look into all that when the time comes. We looked at many vans including Pleasure Way before deciding on the Roadtrek and we have never looked back. We have had it a year and a half now, six months full-time. Hope this helps! Thanks for following and stay tuned for a Roadtrek Zion SRT review video! :)
Roadtreck may be a,,Hymer Group,, product but it has the lowest quality between all the other clas B manufacturers I own a Simplicity SRT and I have over 12 deficiencies on it. I do have to wade over 1 month to get it to a Roadtrek Services and wade who knows how long to get it fixed. I have but I don't believe in the 6 year Roadtrek warranty. It has been over 3 month I bought my rig and the heating is still not working. They're quality control is most likely un existent if they sell to customers something with so many deficiencies. Do you have by any chance the Roadtrek manager you were interviewing e-Mail address? I would like to send him an e-mail with all this issues that I found in my brand new SRT. Thank you,
