Honestly the best part about 47:45 is that while you guys are talking, Blackquill is continuously laughing and slamming the desk for a good while. I guess he was very amused about that truth.
"How do you spell the word meaning each floor of the building?" And then non-English people in the comments start writing the word in their own language, because the question never specified it :D
As usual, Prij is the master of spelling and I don't understand why his friends ever doubt him. I was taught in American schools to _always_ spell building storeys "ey." Like, as early as elementary school when learning about homophones for the first time. I actually didn't know that "ies" was even acceptable (though that looked like it came from a Wikipedia article rather than a dictionary?), but language is a construct, so we may as well spell it "staureighs" - it's whatev.
7:36 I feel like Chords of Glass would be shouting once, having a massive coughing fit, and rendering yourself mute for at least several hours. In Danganronpa terms, Hugh first appeared to be Byakuya Togami, but between his bought grades and his real age, he's actually Yasuhiro Hagakure. Edit: didn't actually reach the part where chat mentioned it when i wrote that comment. It's times like this where I'm sad I can't catch streams.
14:30 the highest recorded pole vault jump is about 20 ft high. One of the most common injuries with professional pole vaulters is sprained ankles, so while the matress helps it still doesnt completely prevent injury. The average storey for a school building is between 10-12 ft so if Courte's corpse was dropped from the 3rd floor it would have fallen around 30ft, 10 ft higher than the pole vaulting record. I refuse to believe her corpse would not have shown some signs of bruising at the very least.
Fair enough, but that is injury sustained by landing on your feet/ankles. If we consider that she was dropped in a way where her entire body absorbed the impact it miiight get a pass.
Hugh is one of the biggest 180 degree turns of a character I've ever seen. From an insufferable prick boasting about his intelligence to a 25-year-old man clearly lying about his intelligence and using his catchphrase in increasingly ridicolous ways. It makes him both a lot funnier and a lot more likable, which really only works because you had to put up with the douchey side already.
Prij: "And we've never heared from Klavier again". This is actually true because this case is the last time we actually see him. Let's hope in Ace Attorney 7 we get to see him along with Gumshoe and Franziska.
That's right I forgot about Apollo Justice: Asinine Attorney in Spirit of Justice. Well let' hope the Ace Attorney team let Gumshoe and Fraziska out of whatever basement they're keeping them in.
@@misternu144 I hope they don't introduce new prosecutors in AA7 tbh. It could be cool to have an *actual* Athena game and having to face Franziska in court and having Gumshoe as the main detective. It would also be nice if they make the game a little longer than the others to give some other characters like Klavier or Trucy the spotlight.
@@AlternativeDrKujoyeah that's what I've been thinking too. Instead of a new prosecutor they could introduce a new judge as the main rival/antagonist to switch things up. I'm sure the game will definitely be longer since they're not bound to GBA/DS anymore and I really hope they'll have more than 5 cases as well since there's so many characters at this point
@@xxyzxxyz690 competent but very corrupt judge, you have to team up with the prosecutor to win (which is perfect for Klavier for example who is the only prosecutor I think that never held this weirds ideals of having to win whatever means necessary). **KINDA SPOILERS FOR TGAA AND AAI** The corrupted judge thing I guess it was already made in TGAA2 but it could be interesting to see it applied to a whole game instead of just a case. We could also see Franziska working with the Interpol like in AAI or something. Idk there is really a lot that can be done with the already existing characters and established story (like the Trucy-Apollo sibling situation, or idk bringing Iris back) that adding even more characters and plot (and please no more backstories) feels unnecessary
Hugh isn't like the other teenagers. He's 25. Aaaa but funny enough, when I was 25, I still routinely got carded for buying beer (which is available from 16 on in my country), and I'm not even especially short or anything, I just looked young enough to be mistaken for around that age haha Wish that was still the case...
God I miss Klavier. He is the only prosecutor to just be a real one right off the bat. The others all make you work for their cooperation and basic respect.😅
I love how in Case 2 of Apollo, Klavier doesn't have a single freak-out moment. Even when you rebut his arguments and expose the true killer, he's just in it for the justice and it almost feels like he figures it out before Apollo, but uses it as a chance to help Apollo grow by leading him.
I'm sure you guys probably already noticed but the thing with Hugh and Junie is that they DON'T have feelings for each other. It's just a rumor from Scuttlebutt's tabloids. It subverts the expectation that the conflict between the three stems from a classic high school "love triangle", when their secrets have nothing to do with that. Hugh's "confession" to Junie was probably about his age and admitting the fact that he isn't a genius. So if you ask me... This game is miles better when it comes to iffy relationships compared to the past Ace Attorney games 😅
I love how Myriams tabloid article about the winner of the mock trial confessing to Juniper is introduced as a complete hack-job, but yet it seems to fool everyone into believing it's real reporting, from the characters in the story, like Juniper and Athena, to even the players. It makes apparent how vulnerable we are to misinformation and how easily rumours spread as truths. It's another facet that is often overlooked in this case. Also that it's often Myriams pictures and testimony that provide you with crucial information, which makes her feel integral to solving the case and almost makes it feel like she is part of the friend group. I can't say enough how good this case is, even on repeat playthroughs, when solving the 'How-Done-It' (because it's really not a 'Who-Done-It') is no longer necessary.
44:05 How did he put that thing on? Can he take it off? What happens if he works out and his neck gets bigger? How tight is it? Does it feel weird when he swallows his food? There's so many questions about that...
The fact that you had Hugh as the thumbnail for episode 25 too, had me in stitches. Also, along with several others in the comments, I too have been mistaken for a 16yo at the age of 25 (granted I am a woman). I don’t even wait to get carded, I just hand my ID over
I saw this comment on a video mixing up Ace Attorney's pursuit theme with "Big Shot" from Deltarune (with the obvious Luke Atmey as Spamton), also casting Hugh O'Conner as Birdley and Juniper Woods as Noel (and possibly Robin Newman as Susie).
I won't spoil the actual moment at the end of the case because it is actually really sweet and wholesome, but I'll just say this. Hugh's age in regards to Junie is not gonna be an issue. Just trust me on that.
48:30 Zak, I promise you, I'm a 27 years old with a whole 4-years college degree under my belt and people think I'm still in highschool based on my appearance
Because my mom was always a small person due to her stunted growth. I'm sure she had many stories to tell about similar things. But I cannot hear them to tell you anymore T_T
It is wild how insistent they are in this case that you would have to be at least 20 to operate a crane, when in _this very case_ Athena is practising law at 18 years old. Not to mention Franziska becoming a prosecutor at the age of 13... Meanwhile, it doesn't seem that unreasonable to me that someone could drop out of school at the age of 16 and be qualified to operate a crane by 18 or 19. I wasn't able to find an estimate online for how long the qualifications take to become a crane operator, but in Australia you do have to be at least 18 to operate a crane (there's a similar age minimum for lawyers too, although I'm not sure how often either limitation is actually relevant). I wouldn't even be surprised if it was fairly common for crane operators to start around that age.
48:31 - Tbf, I had a 17-years-old classmate who looked like 30-years-old dude who went through divorce and now can only visit his two kids on weekends. And nowadays a lot of people look way older than their age, so...
The plot twist with Hugh's age is SO funny to me and really made him so funny as a character in my opinion especially when he was such an insufferable stuck up jerk at first lol
it's actually so funny how this game puts way more scrutiny into the time and effort it would take someone to get licensed to operate a crane compared to how they treat people becoming lawyers
I hate it when stories have 22+ year old people trying to romance 18 year old girls. Thankfully, this case actually addresses that in a manner that’s really satisfying. Heck this case addresses a LOT of the problems you’d think you’d have (for example: “shouldn’t you be 20+ to operate a crane? (Because he IS 20+)” “Isn’t using the murder plot from the script a really dumb move for Juniper? (Apollo points this out, but Blackquill has the safety net that everyone in the lecture hall was accounted for)” “There’s no WAY that tape says “Hugh O’Conner” (it doesn’t)” “How can everyone in the lecture hall be accounted for? (There’s a missable dialogue option that points out a camera that monitors where the students are sitting in the lecture hall, so they could cross reference it)” I love this case because not only is it fun, but it doesn’t sacrifice logical reasoning for it. Oh and for you Zak, look back on the first episode of this case with Professor Means. You’re going to thank me during the final portion of this case.
I will admit it’s a weird suspension of disbelief I can do for like “oh yeah, this 16 year old can get possessed and investigate murders, BUT they sure as hell can’t operate heavy machinery!” 😅
@@SaveDataTeamI mean in the US you can get a pilot's license at 16/17 years old, a crane cert isn't that unusual. Especially since construction is a popular career field for highschool dropouts.
Robin and Box Girl is the new Shark Boy and Lava Girl. Wait, this is an Ace Attorney series? I thought it was Monster Hunter! Parallel parking one handed is an unorthodox display of hubris, but somehow still the most legit thing he's bragged about. My inner middle-schooler: hehe, Golden Boy is old enough to be a Golden Girl!
Maybe it's different for men, but I, a 24 year old woman, am sill repeatedly mistaken for being 12-15, so it might not be as unbelievable that O'Conner was thought to be of high school age.
Why shouldnt you send witnesses to the graveyard prij? Dont you remember the first trilogy was all about Graveyard summoning decks and things send to the shadowrealm!^^
They're honestly just separate audio files on my pc, but I think the most common I use for this series is either Trucy's theme or Missle's Theme from Ghost Trick
In response to RDFox76's question at 28:00, there are two reasons why Phoenix and Athena aren't suspects despite not being in the lecture hall. 1. They were with each other, and as a result, they both have alibis. 2. They have no prior connection to Constance Courte, and thus no motive.
In real life, this is true. However, in the Ace Attorney universe, when is the last time a little thing like an alibi or lack of a motive stopped a prosecutor from accusing someone? :D
But Prij! Everyone knows your client isn't innocent unless someone else can be found guilty in their place! Prij was absolutely killing it this stream, huh? This is the third or fourth time I've laughed in about five minutes. There needs to be an Ace Attorney x Yu-Gi-Oh crossover. British spellings return for revenge! They weren't done with you yet! Hugh's accent coming out when he's stressed is a fun touch! This... rather changes the friendship dynamic of that group. Hugh repeating the whole genius joke just made it even funnier!
hey, we never had to find out who actually did it in TGAA 1-3. and a few times the judge almost declared someone innocent without the real killer being found. only someone tends to interupt the last minute then(sometimes the defense is the one interupting even). Also, Apollo mentioned in 4-3, that even if Machi didn't talk. he would not be found guilty of murder. implying that getting the actual culprit is not actually always necesary.
