Phone won't charge - try this quick and simple fix 

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!I have SEVERE anxiety and I woke up and my new phone wouldn't charge, I tried cleaning the USB and even though I couldn't see any gunk come out IT WORKED! It worked before I could work myself into a panic and wake my BF up and piss everyone off to start the day so THANK YOU! YOU saved my day off. I'm sure my family is also grateful not to have to be woken up to me in hysterics as well.

Thank you so much for this.. I didn't realise that the very little bit in my usb port stopped my phone from charging that way, i just been putting it on a pad lately. This documentation WAS VERY HELPFUL !!!! I can charge my phone again NORMALLY !!! YOUR A LIFE SAVER :))

I have a Xiaomi phone and the last several months fast charging never worked anymore, and slow charging would only work after a lot of tries (the cable wouldn't connect)... I was getting desperate and was about to look for a service center... Luckily I found your video, and cleaned the port with some toothpicks (there was lot of crap in there, not visible), the phone is fast charging perfectly again!! And a tip to anyone reading this: NEVER put your phone in your pants pocket: the lint will accumulate in the charging port and cause all this nightmare!

There are people on eBay who charge very reasonable rates to repair charging ports, screens, replace batteries.

You just save further months of stress, time & money. Thank you. I found a nice portion of lint inside the port after constantly being inside my pocket. Charger now connects again!!

My phone seems to recognize the cable going in but only shows how much battery is left and won’t charge. It’s a tcl android. Any advice would be helpful. The port seems to be clear. Nothing came out with my toothpick. I’ve tried every cable with plugging it in to a portable charger and it still won’t charge.

I had to remove and reinsert my battery to get my phone to charge.

I use a needle, I find a toothpick to be too thick.

OMG DON'T USE A TOOTHPICK AT LEAST GET A PLASTIC ONE OR USE PAPERCLIP. The wood cal breal and get lodged in charging port.
