Phos Between Twins | Over Analyzing Houseki no Kuni Chapter 13 

Late since I was processing 107 last week. 5:26 A sheet blocks Cinnabar as they were turning around. It seems to be a dream sequence, ending as the Amethysts wake Phos by yanking the sheet off (which, does that work because of increased sunlight exposure? Gems are pretty insensitive to most changes after all, then this would be like waking up to breakfast) Back to Cinnabar dream, it’s a good summary of their dynamic. They seem to get closer, then Cinnabar even turns around to meet Phos, but the bedsheet of progress suddenly cuts in and blocks off most of them. They don’t see each other anymore. More of concerned Rutile for patrol rookie Phos. Much agreed on Phos’ issues of unrealistic goals. It’s a bigger thing than direct pressure from the other Lustrous imco. Phos’ exhaustion is (also) caused by how jumpy they act, raising their sword at every ‘O’ the Amethysts make, the pressure of performing well at patrolling has really gotten to them. Well, we did have an early explanation of why Phos was targeted (beautiful colour), it just turns out to be deeper.

In the anime, during the amethyst’s twins introduction and meeting amethyst they seem to have more emotion and their voice sounds more life like when the other amethyst isn’t present but when together their voices when talking to each other or other gems sounds kinda more robotic, and the times when it doesn’t sound like this is when the amethyst twins get shattered and beg pod to get sensei then scream in terror as they get shattered

do you think the lunarians couldn't capture the amethysts or they didn't want to? because if the objective was to simply cause damage then certainly it would be more effective, but then you could say that achmea planned it that way, so when phos actually lose a partner is more impactful or something? also talking about the scene where they shatter antarcticite, do you think achmea cooperated with the ice floes to rip phos's arms out? my headcanon is that yes.
