This was an amazing video that has helped me so much! I'm a beginning photographer and I'm trying to get a grasp on editing. VSCO has been my best friend for the last year, as the filters are really nice & it's helped me learn how to better understand exposure, contrast, temperature etc etc
Thanks man! This was a really good tutorial not only on how to use VSCO in Lightroom, but how to use Lightroom itself. You've got a bunch of cool tips and tricks.
Okay, so I didn't even know you had RU-vid and now here I am, by complete chance! I've always been super envious of your work after seeing it on Facebook, so it's really cool to see how you bring your images to life. Thanks for making a tutorial that's actually interesting!
Ray!! your voice over was so awesome! like a friend chilling with me just helping me out. Thanks Mr, totally ripping a copy of the quite now for this disco install :) Cheers!
Loved the video, thank you very much Ray! Are you thinking about doing a tutorial on how you colour corrected/graded the chocolate and strawberry pie video?
all that i think is 'THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITES!!! HOW DO YOU EVER DECIDE??!' like- i could sit here for hours just experimenting, resulting in about 345 different outcomes of one picture that honestly scares me
Good video man, I've had the VSCO presets for a fair few years but never given it the time of day to actually try and make them work (the bit after you click 'make my pic look cool with the portra filter'. Good walk through pal.
wow ray! normally I have to force myself to watch tutorials but this was really well done, rather than some random guy mumbling into a mic and taking forever. pls make more x x x
lovely photos, ray. i've never thought to even open lightroom, but i'm certainly giving it a go after seeing this. out of interest, is your photography mostly personal work or generally commercial stuff?
Thanx for the informative, playful and sometimes funny video, as I am considering this editing program. My Microsoft Digital Imaging 2006 Suite is, I think, finally having trouble with my thousands of photos. You have some of the same editing likes and dislikes as me, which was also helpful. I love the fact that one can sharpen one area, while keeping another the way it is; leading to less noise!
I am shopping around for programs, as I am experiencing problems with my old Microsoft Digital Imaging 2006 Suite; some photo thumbnails in the library come up as gray boxes. Yet, the photos are visible after clicking on them. While some folders show photo thumbnails, but when clicked on, a super tiny photo pops up. So weird. Perhaps the software is now too old. Also looking at possibly buying Lightroom. Investigating is tiring. Someone said GIMP is a good free one? :)
hi Ray! i loved this video and found it super helpful! just a quick question, how did you make your iphone into an external monitor for your camera? Thank you so much!
this is son nice! I also have the a7s, did you tweak anything on the camera, or did you just shoot raw without changing contrast/sat? I mean, without changing the settings that come already in camera. Thanks!" :)
can you tell me the difference between the camera profile and curves? I have a Nikon D5300, so i only uploaded the Nikon camera profiles but what does all the extra info in the file name mean? like this "Nikon D5300 Polaroid 690 N.dcp" So i would think its a camera profile for the D5300 with a Polaroid 690 look right? But when i look at the curves i see this also "Polaroid 690.xmp" and makes me think it will do the same, right? And what about the preset folder for the nikon camera? That one also shows all the different styles like polaroid. Hope you can tell me what this all means.,
Hi just curious when you said that you cropped it and ready to send to your phone for instagram. How exactly do you do that? What are you saving the file as?
Okay that makes sense. I am always curious to see how people use different methods. I sometimes seem to lose a lot of quality when I save it multiple times before posting to instagram. Thanks man!
Hello, this was very helpful , I don't use Lightroom but want to learn some things also for future. Have a question, do u know what presets / filters use instablogger @mikutas ? She use Lightroom for sure
Can someone tell me how to disable the effects panel, cause every time i choose a preset it automatically adds to the photo and its annoying to turn it off myself every single time.
An amazing convo, great choice of music & actually a funny youtuber. Cheers Ray, if your about in Central London give me a shout on my page would really like to ask for some advice one on one. Peace
