In this video I take you back to the California Redwoods with me as I retrace some of my steps from last year's video and make some new compositions in new areas of the surrounding parks. I have always enjoyed forest and woodland landscape photography and this year has all the ingredients for some truly spectacular conditions. I hope you enjoy the journey and images! Thank you for the support as always! If you like it, please like, comment, and subscribe!
Safe travels,
Jared.

Awesome work, those conditions look so perfect. I've never had that much fog while visiting the redwoods, so jealous! Also, the music choice was perfect, super calming and peaceful.

Last year we went and almost got skunked completely. This trip was the opposite ha. It’s a crap shoot up there. Thanks for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it! I did my best to make it as peaceful as it was to be there.

I love this video, Jared! I visited the redwoods the first time this summer, myself, and the way you captured them in the fog is magical. Definitely a spiritual experience down there!

Thank you so much Blake! I did my best to portray them that way. Thank you for watching!

You're making me homesick ya know. Way back when, I took a disposable camera with me and the pictures did not turn out so well. Our eyes were so adjusted that we didn't realize how dark it really is under the cover of those giants.

It gets pretty dark in there! Thanks for taking the time to watch, I really appreciate it!

You got some consistently great conditions. Fog/Mist are very hit and miss in some of those groves. Very happy to see it panned out and resulted in some photographs that are fantastic! Really loved your backlit leafs shot. It was beautifully composed. I enjoyed the calm feeling of the video. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Really appreciate you watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it, buddy. I did my best to recreate how peaceful it was to be there. I really love spending time there. Always looking forward to your next video!

Humbled to be a part of this trip. Looks like you got some awesome shots. Hope mine turn out to be just as beautiful.

Great work my friend. Looks like it was an awesome trip! I had to cancel my trip to the Redwoods this May, and definitely bummed about it. I really like the backlit maples - a unique take on the location that is more than the typical tree trunks in fog. Also, nice touch with the outtakes at the end!

Wow, with you and Michael Shainblum both releasing a videos of the redwoods, I'm really wanting to go back there. It's been a few years now, and the conditions were not anywhere near as nice. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that considers themselves to be a lazy photographer, although the reasons may be a bit different. I really want to change that, but habits are hard to break.

I just don’t like spending too much time on one image. I prefer being in the field rather than behind my computer, but I do enjoy it. I do a fair amount of post processing but I just try to keep it simple as I can given the situation.

Great video Jared! Absolutely awesome conditions for shooting in the Redwoods. The outtakes at the end were so funny 😂😂😂 turning around to go get the camera is something I definitely relate to. I'd love to see a video explaining your van set up if you ever have time. Cheers brotha 👊

Thanks man! Yeah I know a lot of us can relate to the turning around thing so I thought it would be funny haha. And the van video is something that is in the pipeline. I definitely want to get a video out on it since I have some miles on it.

@Jared Boaz Photography it was hilarious 😂 any video producer knows that struggle.

Great video Jared. I’m in the UK and our awesome woodland is gnarly oak trees. The sheer size of the trunks in the Redwoods are jaw dropping and nothing like we have here. One comment, would it be possible for you to leave the images on screen for slightly longer? “A Whisper” especially was off the screen in a flash. I have to pause the video to enjoy the images 👍🏻
@jaredboazphoto
@jaredboazphoto Год назад
So I put the whisper photo up to show that it was a composition I shot last year when I visited. If you look up my 2021 redwood video it is on the screen longer since I took it on that trip. I appreciate you watching and your feedback! I’d love to visit the UK before too long. I watch Thomas Heatons channel and get some jealousy regularly haha.

@@jaredboazphoto lol, he’s good! We do have some gorgeous places, but the UK is very compact in comparison. Check out Simon Baxter for woodland photography if you haven’t already. He’s in a league of his own for woodland. And Simon Booth for being able to find an image out of absolutely nothing. Both UK photographers, and both admired by Tom.
