I am really loving these new videos, Mike. You look more relaxed. The thing about electric fences is they don't shock non-stop. You will touch if and feel nothing then about ten seconds later they will shock you. Just as you let your guard down. Stay safe.

I liked the shadows on the path up the peak. And, the sun reflecting off the base of the clouds. Quite nice. I grew up around electric fences and still got shocked more often than I'd like to admit.

Hmm brilliant, e fence and all. My dog and I are very wary of all of them, certainly gets the heart going. Huey sometimes behaves. It’s brilliant when Huey helps out, that gets you out more. Even in the rain and all the colours come out of hiding Cheers very interesting
Fantastic process video. I loved watching your mind click as you went thru your plan. Plan your work and work your plan. On a side note I made the mistake of taking a leak by and electric fence. Yes the electricity will follow up the stream! Yikes!

I love the Malvern hills... They have the last of the UK ancient Black Poplar pollards (trees); they look fabulous, but would be spectacular with the right sunrise / sunset
What an awesome video! Has to be one of the most fun landscape videos yet :) Except for the shock part, hope you're ok! The scenery was gorgeous, the cows showing up in the end were a great surprise that added even more to the composition :D

It's really interesting to see another landscape photographer's take on the Malverns, I live just off to the left hand side of your last image and Perseverance Hill is rightly named. I still find them frustrating to shoot, the North-South alignment and standing alone over the three counties, means you can only really shoot them when you're walking them. They make you work for a good composition, it's also a good idea to make sure you get you leg over the electric fence.
You're absolutely right. They do really get you working for your comps. Good idea about getting over the fence...maybe without touching it! 😆 I've got a few more coming soon on the Malvern's as well. My grandparents used to live in Malvern and Worcester so we grew up hiking these, and it's great to come back to them. I've been enjoying British Camp as well ... Another one that gets the legs burning in a short swift hike! Thanks for watching 😁👍
Another good presentation Mike Been shooting landscapes for close to 35 yrs now and the most important things I believe to be successful at this photography genre is the time of day,I only shoot sunrise and sunsets,the study of weather because that determines a lot of things with landscape photography and finally the determination and willingness to revisit a location time and time again to get that image that you are happy with. Most definitely; planning, forecasting and persistence are the best tools for a good landscape image ... and also having a grab bag (kit ready to go) when you see a good forecast. I used to surf as a teenager and this taught me so much about weather forecasting in the uk. As long as I have a good app that shows me the charts, I'm happy. Thanks for watching 😁👍

Something about the UK brings out landscape photographers in droves; same for YT landscape channels run by Brits. Crowded field but I’m sure you will do well, Mike. (Look out Tom Heaton et al.) Good lesson on f/l field of view, preparation, and distractions. (Hope cows were paying attention, like the front that came in right on cue.) Overlay of sun rise arc a plus. Fine sunrise image. Hope the jogger’s dog doesn’t have to pee anywhere near that fence😁. (Energized fences should be required to have warning signs.) Cheers!

I think it is because it's either out hiking with the camera or drinking in one of the many thousands of pubs here ... and I'm not sure drunk Mike would make for good videos! 😆😆 I bet the dogs have learned their lesson the hard way ... Love the on locations videos. I was surprised to see you in the UK. For some reason, I thought you were in an entirely different part of the world, like UAE or somewhere near there. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the electric fences but they do keep cows and sheep from scratching against posts and pushing the fence down. I use to hate going out on cold wet mornings to walk the fence to see where the horses got out.
Thanks so much Philip! I used to live in the UAE, and in Thailand at the moment, but visiting family for now ... And might even be moving back to the UK for good soon ... They definitely come in handy in a farming environment. Years ago I worked on a sheep station in Australia for a year and one of my tasks every morning was to do the same, but on a dirt bike as the farm was huge ... And the mornings were rarely wet...🤔...so much more fun! 😆 But I bet it would be a chore on those cold wet days... I've definitely learned not to go near them now. 😆 Thanks for watching 😁👍

No worries Sachin, I'm having a lot of fun shooting and editing these so I'm glad they are helping! What I normally do is search on line for good locations, or sometimes just look around on Google maps for places to shoot. I have just filmed a video on location scouting, so hopefully that will help. That one will be coming out sometime in the next month's or so. 😁👍
I caught some beautiful storm clouds there last year and had to run away immediately afterwards because I wasn't prepared for the weather in shorts and all.

Lol...it's just the humidity...we thought coming from Dubai we'd be ok with the heat but not so...we've acclimatised a little, but it's more a case of wearing gym kit all the time!! 😆
Back in the UK, fantastic! Is this a permanent return or short break? My heart sank when you pulled out the RX as I have recently sold mine. As you mention, the versatility of that system is amazing. I've just bought a 2nd hand point and shoot with a long range to fill in the gaps with my Fuji line up. What was the sunrise app you were using?

We're preparing to come back to the UK, I'll be back and forth a little bit, but hopefully back permenantly in the UK from August. 👍 I'm hoping they come out with the fifth version of the RX10, but I've heard a few rumors that the IV is the last one... It's always good to have a versatile point and shoot. The sunrise app is photopills, it's a paid app but well worth it. 👍
