Thank you for the exact video I was looking for. I will be going with my wife in December on a Celebrity cruise (Xpedition 48 passengers). I plan to bring 2 bodies - Nikon D850 (full frame) w 70-200 f2.8 and a 2x teleconverter (not sure if needed) and a D500 (crop) w 16-80mm. The D850 will be on a Sling strap and since I've never carried 2 bodies I'm still figuring out the D500, probably on a Peak Design Capture on my chest (backpack strap) or another PD sling strap. For underwater I have an Olympus TG-5 but also have a non-Go Pro action camera, which I can use or share with wife or friends. I will have in my bag also a 10-20mm DX to put on the D500 if I choose to use it. Sounds like a good setup? Overkill? Change anything? Suggestions/tips please. Thoughts on use and need for dry bags to transport the gear on the zodiacs? Thank you in advance for any advice. (I'll add, I have a 200-500, but just won't be able to deal with the weight on this trip)

Hi michaelrosenberg6300. Your setup sounds about right and I do think you'll need and use the 2x TC. If it were me, I'd bring the 200-500 and skip the 70-200 and TC. As for the need for the dry bags - I can't say how aware of waves and careful the crew on your boat will be. On the yacht I charter our crew is very diligent to make sure no customer ever gets wet during landings, but I have seen it happen on other boats in rough water. Have fun and thanks for watching.

breathtaking images congratulations, I'm going to the islands shortly, as you said I think it's every photographer's dream. I'll wear these lenses 14-24 24-70 70-200 do you recommend I also wear the 150-600? I don't dive, I only snorkel. What do you recommend for shooting in the water? Where can I find your contacts for Galapagos excursions? A thousand thanks

hi marcod345, I personally think you are bringing too many lenses. I prefer to travel lighter and you won't have a ton of time to change up lenses while walking on the islands. I'd choose the 24-70 for some scenery images and 'animals within the landscape' shots. Plus I'd choose your 150-600mm lens for the wildlife portraits and birds in flight - that's it. We only snorkel on my trips as well, no diving. But the snorkeling is wonderful. For that I use a GoPro Hero 7. Not their latest but the one I happen to own and it works just fine. My tours there are yacht based and I hope yours will be as well, it's the best way to see the outer islands. The yacht I charter for my tours is called "Angelito". The company running and owning it is called "Cometa Travel". They are the BEST! I'd invite you to come on my tour, but I only have 1 space open for a single female traveler. Enjoy your time in those amazing islands!
