Photography lighting can be tricky outdoors if you don't know when to shoot for example portraits and in which direction you should photograph.
Wolf Amri explains exactly what the best time of the day is and what to do when you cannot choose the time. He is using affordable or even free tools that even beginners can afford to help improve the images by brightening shadows in faces for example at noon.

Thanks, Cody. I can relate to that. I did a lot of indoor stuff, but outdoor can be so much more rewarding.

I am learning a lot in your channel. I bought my very first camera Sony A7iii with Tamron 28-200mm. And I am shooting manual with auto iso. I shoot 1000 images in a day and choose 10~20 best on it. And post it in Facebook and Instagram. I love traveling with the tools I have. And continuously watching your tutorials. Thanks a lot

Thanks for watching. Oh yes, the a7III is an outstanding camera. And selecting your best images automatically makes you a better photographer 😉

Thanks, Pranjall. Practicing is all it takes. Next week I'll hopefully be able to publish the rest of the stuff ranging from noon to golden hour in the evening and also introduce you to some nice tools.

Thanks so much, Christian. In the next outdoor portrait video next wednesday I will show you open shades and clouds too. It's interesting. I do this as a job now for 13 years, but doing this kind of videos makes even me more aware of things that I usually don't pay much attention to.

What can I say about this video? It's fantastic, educational, and very helpful. I'm looking forward to learning about the lighting flash. I've had one for 22 years but only ever turned it up towards the sky to use it and I found that made a difference so I continued to use it that way. The only thing I regret is not knowing about your videos sooner.

hi Wolf, that is a feast. thank you so much. I wish you could take B/W as well. I take black/white. this is kind of my taboo or principle.
@wolfamri
@wolfamri 4 года назад
Thanks, Arif. If I want b&w, I usually use color and convert the raw file while editing. That gives me more control. But that way you have to be careful with separation between colors. A red dress separates well from a green background in color photography, but depending on the brightness of the red and blue, it may not in b&w photography and they will kind of merge.

Hi wolf amri, thank you for super teaching. I request you to please make a complete detailed video on "How to take professional whiteboard picture with lecture written on it" and if needs editing so please show it too in video. waiting for your response eagerly. thanks
@wolfamri
@wolfamri 3 года назад
Thanks, Zaid. There are only a few things to consider. Long lens to avoid distortion, dark room to avoid reflection of the camera, At best two lights 45° to the whiteboard. That’s also how you would reproduce paintings.
