I absolutely enjoy listening to you, learning from you...Such an awesome teacher, funny, enlightening, can we use Lightroom to clone you you Terry? Sending you water Hahahaha
love your content. I use all five stars. When I first cull my images, I give 2 stars to my early favorites and 1 star to something that might have potential to have some processing done. Then, after they are processed, the ones that didn't work out get 3 stars, good but not great, but maybe usable for compositing, etc. rate 4 stars, and the ones I like best get five. Lots of different ways to use Adobe's tools. Thanks for what you do.
Hey Terry, why isn’t Lightroom importing presets I’ve selected? I’m not aware of any hard limit on the number of presets you have displayed in the panel…
Luminar 4 user here considering moving to LR. The (seemingly complex) organization of images on LR was my main concern 😟 However, your explanation of the process in these videos has made me more confident 😀 So I'm look to make the move. Thank you
When the photos being imported in Lightroom Classic are on the PC's hard drive, what's the benefit of selecting Build Smart Previews in the importing process?
Because if the photos are on an external drive or NAS and you don’t have the drive with you, the Smart Previews will still slow you to edit instead of showing the photos as missing.
In the file you photoshopped, you saved it back to LRC with the layers intact. I used to do that but I found that I never went back to them to adjust the original edit. Also, the unflatten files takee up more space. Apart from being able to adjust your edit is there any reason why you don't flatten the layers?
I don’t usually have a lot of layers and more often than not I flatten, but if add text, smart filters, etc I absolutely want the ability to go back and edit if need be.
The main three advantages are: 1. DNGs usually take up less drive space. 2. There is no sidecar file 3. Future proofing them so you know you’ll always be able to open them even if companies stop supporting your proprietary Raw format.
