Stage hazards and stuff like that are freezed when a final smash is active. Items that are held also despawn. If a cutscene final smash hits all characters in special fall are no longer in that state and able to UP B again. I enjoy casual play sometimes. :)

Video idea: 1. Pick a character 2. Free for all 3. You switch characters to whoever the person on your left played last match 4. Continue until you play with your original character again If you pick the worst character you might screw over the other underdogs but set yourself up to lose 2 matches, and opposite if you pick the best
