Awesome tutorial! Some of these other guys go way too fast for me and I always have to pause and play in order to understand what they're doing. Its such a relief to find someone who is going a normal teaching pace. Thanks a bunch!
Thank you so much! I did a few VCR type glitches on some GIFs a while back and forgot how to do them, so this really helped. And it was a lot more detailed and informative than the other tutorials I've found. Definitely excited to give this a try! :) Thanks so much!
Great tutorial. The "zig-zag" distortion filter also complements the "shear" filter nicely, when used in moderation - The effect produced is a bit more random and granular and the preview window gives you a good indication of what the outcome of the filter will be.
this is one of the best phtshp tutorials i've seen and i've watched a ton! very good flow of explanation and presentation and thanks for the magnified mouse clicks
This is a great effect I might try out myself. Another finishing touch you can add is to crop the image closer to the TV's of the era 3:4 ratio, or put the full image inside a 3:4 canvas with a black background layer, simulating the way wide screen videos were adjusted for old TVs with the black bars at the top and bottom.
Dude, holy hell, this video looks really clean to some of the tutorials I've found. It's hard to find good tutorials on this website, so your video was like a gem in an ocean of dirt.
Highly appreciate the well explained steps and great video quality. This is easily the best photoshop tutorial I have seen. Thank you so much ! Subscribed & Liked.
When I free transform the single line marquee tool I have to click on the smart layers option otherwise free transform is grayed out. When it lets me do this, I shift and drag and it doesn't distort anything just creates a rectangular selection. Anyone encountered this?
It doesn't really make sense if the image behind the text is so distorted, but the text itself is not. On a vhs tape the timestamp was part of the image so it would also become distorted when the tape got messed up.
Everything worked on the first image I did this on, (thanks btw :)) but on with this image hue and saturation is greyed when I go to use it on the specific rgb channels
Just found your videos and had to subscribe from the first video :) Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your tutorials! I appreciate it so much! Can't wait for more!
Thanks for the Tutorial but whenever I get to the step of "filter - stylize - wind" the option for "wind" is not available. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks for the tutorial.
My single row marquee won't add to selection even with the mode added on, it won't select any row above my original selection and replaces it if I select below it
HI I get stuck on the single raw marquee tool. I couldn't place the dash line unless I hold shift together. And when I free transform it, it became a frame and I couldn't do what you show me. Can you help me with that? I really want to learn this skill.
On the single line marquee tool, when I click add to selection, the selection will not show up in multiple sections, it only makes the one selection, do you know why?
Kinda struggle with the step on 7:40 with the single line marqee tool. Could not get the multiple line selection. Was a keyboard command that I need to press with the mouse?
the "add to selection" tool is not working for me for some reason when trying to add that wind effect. Anyone found a solution to this? I'm working in windows on an hp lap top
for some reason my selection seems to be limited to one row, cant figure out what happens but i cant place more selected row than one at once....please help
Woah, this is very well-made tutorial. With 60 fps and all I feel like I am watching e-sports montage waving their quickscope haha Kidding aside, it's genuinely great. Keep it up!
Hello! First of all, this video is really awesome and informative. I just need to ask if it's possible to do this in after effects. I tried to sort of follow the steps there, but I get stuck with the RGB channel and shear filter in the levels. Can you please tell, in case you know it, if it's achievable. Thanks!
+Joana Lopes Hey there, while the goal and general idea would be the same in after effects, the program is different and would require different techniques for a different video!
Hi! Thank you for this awesome tutorial, but I just ran into a problem: I cannot select multiple lines with the single row marquee tool (cf. 7:36) Have you got any possible solutions?
