This is hands down scary. It's evolving so fast, I wonder what 5 years AI will ve able to do since it's evolving much quicker than it was a year ago...
The problem with adobe(all big companies), they have to use their own or legal data/image model to trained their AI. That's why you're seeing some issues. But other AI tools (open source) like midjourney they can use any images present in the Internet so they have much more models to trained their AI. But Adobe did a great job 👏.
i dont know why but mine does not follow instructions whatsoever. i have tried every one of these commands but it just adds random images every time that have zero to do with the prompt
Incredibly helpful video! The AI generative fill tool has opened up endless possibilities and boosted creativity. Thanks for making this process so accessible.
Excellent video my friend, can this tool be used to increase details in a picture of lower resolution? Can it also be used to recover details from blured images??? 😁😁🙌
We can now safely say that unmesh has gone from a huge asset in photoshop training, to an enemy of real photography. And it is frightening so see the commentary is flooded by poor photographers that can`t wait to fake their photos to finally have something to show off. A low level photography faked into something amazing created not by the photographer, but the photoshop a.i. And the fake people really thing it`s their work!? I am just stunned by the level of fake these people are willing to partake in. Soon the social media etc. will be floodet with fake images impossible to see is fake, and the fakers will take the credit and call it their photography! While the real photographers with a real camera with an existing motive with amazing real pictures will just drown away into oblivion because of stunning fake images overwhelming the web. And just wait to this a.i. hits the music industri! When 12 year olds can tell the a.i. to create stunning vocals with all kinds of awesome music and so on... That will be nice! The death of creativity and the joy of human creativity killed by a.i. That is exactly what we need now theese days in this sick world we live in. And don`t come with that nonsense that this is creativity, this got noting to do with the creativity to the person typing in the wishes. It`s all generated and fake. The one who should take the credit of the images is the creators of this a.i. program. It`s just so sad to see that piximperfect is cheering and supporting this beginning of the end of photography.
This is amazing but also scary because now, it will be almost impossible to distinguish between a real photo and a fake one. A celebrity may show up in the cover of a magazine leaving a hotel with someone else when they actually never met before. In the wrong hands, this is really dangerous.
Photoshop sources said that they are adding metadata to all generated files that states that some type of AI has been used to create the picture. So, while the average internet viewer will not be able to tell, in a court of law if they have the original data file, it can be proved if it was AI generated. If no metadata can be seen, then it will be assumed to be a fake picture. Their security seems to be quite extensive and takes into account the copyright data.
@@benspalding416 I'm not an expert but, i´m guessing this must work with people who have a legal copy of the software. What about those who have an ilegal copy and the software doesn't have a connection to the internet? How would they know who used it and for what?
@@rhapsody1979 They said that it would not work without an internet connection. Your files will be directly sent to their servers where all the manipulation takes place. So, there may be certain personal files that you do not want PS to have and store. I don't know if eventually it will be a standalone program or if it will be integrated into PS. They say that it will cost to use it. Tokens or something. The program will connect directly to the PS server so I'm assuming that illegal copies will not work in this particular case.
The more I play with this AI tool the more impressed I’m with it use and ability. Lately I’ve been using it on photos taken with a fish-eye lens. The AI takes into account the lens distortion and blend the result seamlessly 👍🏼👍🏼
Yeah Until you realise Agencies will only need 1 Photoshop Ai Expert. In time Companies will get their own PSD Ai and have a Intern do everything the Agencies did.
For any of us using this type of software to create our own “AI art”, we need to at least recognize what we are doing: we are commissioning (via prompts) machine learning software that is being programmed using other artists’ stolen intellectual property to create a stolen derivative work in whole or in part. In any realm, real life or digital, commissioning a piece of art by describing what we want the “artist” (in this case the software) to create for us, does not make us the artist, it makes us the client. If we are using this cloud-based tool to enhance any of our own non-ai art, it is probably wise to assume our truly original human-made work is also being used without compensation to further train this machine learning software. In other words, our artwork may show up in someone else’s “commissioned art”, and that someone else may try to claim it as their own. And if we go to register our work with a copyright office, we may be required, depending on jurisdiction, to disclose if and where we used “AI” to create the work, even if we only added a few AI elements to an otherwise fully human work of authorship. At least in the US, “AI” generated “art” is not considered a work of human authorship and therefore cannot be registered. This means others are free to steal our already stolen work. I suppose the latter constitutes a bit of poetic justice, but it doesn’t remedy the original art heist. If we don’t disclose the use of AI on a copyright application, and the omission is later discovered, there may be consequences depending on jurisdiction. The biggest takeaway here is that this “creative tool” was and is being programmed using mass intellectual property theft from real artists that put in the time, talent, and hard work to be able to do what they do. This “creative tool” exists at their expense.
Well said. People have no clue. And they can`t wait to finally fake their own poor photography into something amazing! Just look at the comments. The appreciation for real artistry, skill, hard work and an eye for art and beuty is eventually going to go down the drain. And people are cheering and celebrating it!
@@ericpommer5465 Adobe Stock doesn’t hold the copyrights to independent Adobe Stock contributors’ work, so it isn’t really their own library. From what I understand, Adobe Stock contributors have not to date been compensated by Adobe for the use of their photos to train the AI software. As a related aside, an artist’s share of the Adobe Stock licensing fee = 33-35%, and Adobe’s share = 65-67%. So Adobe makes almost twice what the artist does for each stock photo/video download - they can afford to compensate. Adobe claims they are working towards a compensation model, but as they say, that ship has already sailed. Adobe Stock contributors can’t opt out of data set training either, so if they want to sell their photos on Adobe Stock, they are basically agreeing to let Adobe use their images for free to create software they weren’t told about in enough detail to make an educated decision up front - software that will eventually replace them. It’s a passive form of pay-to-play, which is still a form of exploiting artists without paying them, only worse because they are using artists to train their replacements. If we think that this won’t replace stock artists to a huge extent, we aren’t paying attention. In my opinion, the right thing for Adobe to have done would have been to set up the compensation model before they used the contributors’ images, clearly described to artists how they planned to use their work (that’s what everyone else has to do when they license an image), and provide an opt out if an artist didn’t want their images used to train the software.
Did you notice on the “formal shirt” example, the generated shirts were so perfectly matched to the posture. But also, perfectly matched with the overall style
Ai total changes the entire Advert / Design industrie Lead & Graphic Designers not needed Photographers not needed Stylists/ Makeup Artists not needed Models not needed Retouch not needed All you need is 1 Boss & 1 Ai Expert in every Agency.
Hi Unmesh. I just started using Generative Fill recently and right away got some amazing results. I had it add a rainbow no problem by just using the lasso tool to draw the general shape of the rainbow paying attention to the starting and ending points. It was even red on the outside and blue on the inside! Love it. And thanks for all your helpful videos.
Does AI replace our jobs? You answer the question perfectly. Learn AI, but also always learn the roots of Photoshop. The workers that can that solve problems will always make the most money. AI may never be neural enough to keep up with human imagination. It's essential you know how to "clean up" the AI assistance. I'm very impressed with AI and do not underestimate it, but I will always exploit it as a tool for me before it exploits me. Love your videos! You got a subscribe out of me long ago. Mark this day in history for Photoshop tech.
Ikr, im gonna worry about salary, because of increasing productivity. If salary stagnant im done working. Even AI exist your job requirement jack of all trades
"I hope you're still right in the near future" Oh, my friend.. one of the few certainties in life is that in the near future that phrase of his will no longer apply.
Yep listen to the pro here . Seriously so many other channels r singing the holy grail of generative fill AI , saying how it will replacing all the photoshop professionals . Now look at the guy , this is what the pros do. As professional , you don't expect ur client to get print-ready quality with all these un-even lightings , un-even skin tone , look at what the pros have gone thru to fix it . Kind of the same with the Artwork AI where you still need to fix a lot of twisted fingers and iris . AI isn't perfect , but it has lower the entry bar for amateur who has 0 exp with the app . But it does not automatically make you a pro.
I think using 50% opacity in your selection may create a more realistic rainbow. And if that doesn't work, maybe try prompting "subtle rainbow" or something like that.
15:38 "AI is a tool to help you.. Not to replace you" ohhhh common guys! I totally don't agree with that claim, cause yeah, sure AI is a tool to help me, but by helping me, tasks that took me years to do, nowadays I can finish them dramatically faster.... and that, ladies and gentleman's, WILL lead to layouts of other employees! Cause hey! if one can do so much in such short time, why do I need the rest of the people in the office?!I totally don't agree with that claim, cause yeah, sure AI is a tool to help me, but by helping me, tasks that took me years to do, now I can finish them dramatically faster.. and that, ladies and gentleman's WILL lead to layouts of other employees, cause hey! if one can do so much in such short time, why do I need the rest of the people in the office?!
What we are witnessing is not a gain, but the loss of real knowledge of how to do things. There will be no distinction between someone's abilities and real knowledge, it will only be necessary to describe what you want and if the result is at least acceptable (and this according to the criteria of people who probably never knew how to do a job with quality and skill). it will be OK. This leads to the loss of real skills of artists, illustrators, in all branches of visual arts. This is similar to machines printing food contrary to the culinary arts acquired over time. If the difference will not matter, it is because over time we will not have the knowledge of the processes nor the ability to actually do them, it will only be data in a database to be used through virtual connections, only technique in the coldest and most inert of its aspects. Someone asked, algorithms writing poetry, making art, illustration, music for us, is it a desirable world?
It’s super fun, honestly just being able to expand image backgrounds has been a lifesaver already. I am finding there is some weird censorship. I wanted an alien spaceship, but alien is censored. I wanted a underwater throne room, but throne was censored. So hopefully they can work on that and maybe read context a little better so we have more freedom with what words we can use.
Thats crazy, that they limit so much and it still is insane. Imagine it working on 100% of it's power. And the scariest thing is, ghe developers don't have no limitations, they can do whatever they want. So the best possible job for the future years will be AI related. So that you can create your own limit-free AI
I've seen some really nice generative fill in other videos. One was a portrait photographer and she was generating different background props for a newborn portrait. This could be really helpful when you want to level up your portraits but are not able to buy all the props or the time to photograph lots of different backgrounds because you rent studio space.
This is the end of professional photography. Many companies will no longer need photographers and before long there will be apps on our mobile that do the same things. Sorry
Thanks for all this! One thing I found while messing around... the Generative fill filters out some words. I tried "battle, soldier, etc" - anything to do with war. It stopped mid generative process each time. Very interesting.
Right now it’s pretty sensitive when you’re trying out images with humans, especially babies. I was trying to improve on some photos of my grand-daughter by removing some parts that happened to be across her chest and I got a ‘no, no’🤚 message. Hopefully, by the time it gets out of beta we can provide some kind of disclaimer or feedback to allow us to proceed.
Photoshop & its brethren will soon be only a skin on the client side with absolutely all the processing being done on adobe servers. The subscription revenue!
I really enjoy your videos. As a working imaging techn at National Geographic Magazine for over 40 years, conventional wet lab and then digital imaging, I am constantly amazed at the progress of technology. I surely wish I had these tools when I was using Photoshop 3.0 and taking hours to accomplish a task which now takes one click in Photoshop.
I want to use this but it keeps telling me I’m not 18 or older to use it… i use a Google email to sign in and i i made my info public but still says the same thing… 😞
Amazing, I binged several of your videos right now. I have a very basic question, when I generate something it create it on a new layer with a mask. how do I merge that new layer on to the existing layer ? I don't see any option like merge down. I have been searching for this particular answer for a long time now.
Hi Unmesh! Learning in depth is so much work and it's very important when someone is passionate about their fields. You might have thought at least one time that you have made so much effort to learn, but now, because of AI, it is just ONE CLICK and all the efforts are wasted which we had spent to learn using complex techniques, I know nothing we learn is wasted but I want to know your point of view, did you ever thought.
I'm not at the same level, but as someone who teaches a course on using Photoshop, half of my course is made obsolete by this new feature. Instead of two classes on how to make contact and cast shadows, it will now be a twenty second instruction--"make a selection and click the button".
i don't have much idea in Photosp AI - but if there is a way to type "Don't" (Aka Negative Prompts), you can avoid Removing Stuff you don't to be Remove... Like in the Dress Example - Don't Remove Feet, Shoe - Add Shadows
My question is this: if I have a series of photos and want to replace parts of a background (like a house), how do I get generative fill to replace it consistently for each photo?
Hi, I have some problem. I don't have this fill option active (highlighted) in Photoshop Beta. Statusbar is there, but you can't click generate. What may be the problem ?
I think it's time to drop my iCloud account. AI image generation tools are going to kill image making by humans. I don't want to be a part of making it happen.
Hey Unmesh, how about blending or compositing a subject that is cut from a photo and put on any random background using the Generative fill? I mean the subject and the background to match with, both coming from totally different sources but being blended nicely and seamlessly using generative fill. A tutorial on this would be great and I believe it can also make the composites look better and almost perfect. Please make a tutorial on this
This is helpful for detailed photos, but does it work with flat 2d art with large amounts of solid colors? For example, if you had an image clip of "The Simpsons" with characters and background (all flat, solid color art), and you wanted to extend the background to fill an area of your canvas, would it do a good job of recreating/matching the existing look to fill the area? Also, it would be great if Adobe added this Generative Fill into Illustrator to help with the creation of patterns like the one on your shirt.
Would I like to watch a cooking show with Umesh starting by the end of 2025? Yes I would. Correction: I will. We will. Because the AI will be able to optimize (and come up with) any image an art director wants by simply speaking into a microphone. No skills needed. And there will be other companies and services who will offer the same thing as Adobe. So all the proud manual craft of tools will be obsolete. Now - before the invention of photography, nobody could anticipate what would happen after it started to exist. Same thing with AI. Wonder who will rise and fall.
IS THERE A GENERATIVE FILL IN PHOTOSHOP 2021? Been using this since hearing this cool information about this generative Ai, just a couple of tips for the rainbow just select the whole sky and type sky, rainbow or dramatic sky with rainbow
I do Real Estate photography and the time that this saves removing trash cans or cars is amazing. I hit the generate button just to see what it comes up with next.
HELP PLEASE!!!! 🙏🏼 Everytime I do Generative Fill I can see the borders or a line between of the new part of the image and the original... how can blend better both images or disolve better... usually I combine all layers and then apply the Corrector Brush to disimulate the union of the fill.... Is there a better way? Could I have changed something in the settings and that's why I now see the join between the existing image and the newly generated one? 😓 I have tried to disolve the selection, but it doesn't work. Thank you in advance
looks awesome... do you need any kind of AI credits for making all these generative fills? Like: Oops! Cannot complete this operation, please go buy AI tokens... (something tells me these AI credits will make us forget about bitcoin in 1-2 years )
Captain Jack Sparrow version lol 🤣😂🤣 As a longtime PS 🏴☠ user whose conscience finally got the better of me, I found this hilarious! (Been 💯% legal since CS3, so calm down Adobe 😉)
I just found a BIG problem with this!! I do a lot of beach and swimsuit photography and because there is a women in the photo wearing a swimsuit and It WILL NOT allow me to expand the image because it violates their community standards! It thinks its porn...Are you kidding me?! this is useless for most images with someone in a swimsuit! Very disappointed
just realised my twenty+ years of learning, practising, all the late nights, all the hard work..... all wasted, all for nothing ! Today any Tom Dick and Harry without any experience and hard work, can do it with a few clicks or prompts, just as good if not better, sigh !
@pixeimperfect Is there a way Photoshop AI can do a bulk colour/fabric swatch on products for an ecommerce site without having to manually do them one by one on a 100x100 dimension? I've done Batch processes feature but it grabs the Talent's skin instead of the colour/fabric of the garment. Is there a better way?
Hello PiXimperfect , 1st I like simplicity but for me I don't know what's happening. Can you help? I uploaded a photo of a mountain with fire and thick smoke on the top of the mountain. I tried adding lighting striking the mountain top but nothing appears. I click Generate and nothing. What may I be I be doing wrong?
How can I use generative fill on an already masked object (PNG). I have a rope which has no background now i want to extend the rope with Gfill - it extends it butt adds a background color. Now I have to manually delete that background 🙈 any help?
I'm keep getting 1004 error. full error message: An error occurred during image generation: error upload_inpaint_images upload: 1004 Any ideas how can I fix this?
_"AI is a tool to help you, not a tool to replace you."_ It's so weird to hear an intelligent comment on AI from an industry professional and not from an all-caps crypto-adjacent misinformed anti-artist weirdo, or a misinformed person who _just now_ thinks that photo's can be manipulated. The last few month have been super weird.
Can the thing use artist style, like in Midjourney? For example, I have a subject, but I want a background in a famous painter's style. (I know this is odd, but it has its uses for me.)
Someties generative fill is great, removing is mostly OK. But if I want some realistic exact results, like your rainbow, the results are childish, cartoon like. Try generate steam locomotive. It absolutelly fail if something know is used for prompt. Try black Ford, even without exact model, there will be nothing similar to a car, let alone Ford.
After I use generative fill this error message appears: The "Export as" command could not be used because a program error occurred. Does somebody has a fix for this? I am using a Macbook M2 with the newest Beta
I downloaded the beta version of PS, but was unable to use this feature, because Adobe seems to think that I am younger than 18. Not sure how Adobe came to this conclusion, and would like to fix the generative fill not being greyed out. Any solution? I already went into my account and looked at it, and can not find any reference to age or DB there....Any ideas?
ADMIN HERE: ► NOT WORKING? If Generative Fill is grayed out or you cannot see this feature, try the following: - Don’t see Generative Fill in Photoshop Beta? In Photoshop Beta, go to Help > System Info, and verify that you see on the first line, 24.6.0. 20230520.m.2181. If not, please go to your Creative Cloud Desktop app, choose Help > Check for Updates, and install the latest version. - Generative Fill grayed out? Please ensure you have an active selection to fill an area, then check if you can apply Generative Fill. - Try restarting your computer after installing the latest version of Photoshop Beta.
@@Cre8tiveWoman I see Version: 24.6.0 20230524.m.2185 0e7139d arm64 which would be a later version. I just downloaded it like 2 hours ago. and restarted the computer. Thanks for the response, any other ideas?
