in all the other vids they say that the black lines has to consist of 1 pixel per layer minus 1 for the white line, how did you come up with 9 pixels for the black line and 3 for the white line if you have 5 layers? love your work im just trying to understand your lesson compared to the others.
Hi Anthony, thanks for your question. lI think I found a tutorial long time ago that made this effect. I just refined the technique. I think the thickness of the white/black lines can vary...will yield different looking results.
hi Bruna...if I understand your question correctly, you need to click on File then click Save As then save the file. The next time you open the file everything will be as you left it. Does this help?
Hi Terry, I've have created a Photoshop project to do what you've shown here. I have my plain background layer locked, added 5 other layers with my images, and created a "made the masks" layer of alternant 9px black/3px white, then filled the canvas as you have. Then created a mask layer for each image layer. Then tried copied the lines mask, but when I try to past it in the mask for each image layer I don't get that option. I'm using a Mac and the 'Control' key as would be the 'Alt' key on a PC, and have tried this in both Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC 2018. Any suggestions would be welcomed as to what I might be doing wrong. Many thanks, Joseph
Hi Joey, I fell aweful! I had planned to make the next video and never got around to it. I can't make it now, I am too busy making videos showing how to do so some awesome card tricks. Sorry, my friend.
Hi Aime...sorry you are having problems. I think the best thing to do is check your print settings. l would check the paper size and the margins. When you say the print does not work, what is it that does not work?
@@mystery_guy Thanks for the answer! Sorry, I speak a little English, I hope I can explain: in the screen I see the effect perfectly, but when I print the paper and try the effect with the plastic sheet, what I see is, for example, the same paw of the animal in two different positions. That is what I mean, when I say the effect doesn't work for me. :( Maybe my plastic sheet with the lines is slightly different to the layers in the screen, I guess, because I had that thing already, (it cames with a board game), I probably measured it wrong when I drew the lines in Photoshop. Thanks for your help!
Thank you very magic for revealing this mystery : ) I bought a book with this kind of magic paper animation and since then I was puzzled how to recreate this! Finally I think I started to understand the principle, how it actually works. I will try to make a few of them and hopefully use them as a video clip for our band! Thank you very much!
