ty ty ty for adding the explanation of side by side! i bought a class on org photos which uses this prog but i have the issue of mult hard drives w many dup folders of dup photos. tried it 2 ways neither seemed doable - no practical way to get thru 400k photos resulting in 30k groups. i was not abt to go thru that many groups :( but the side by side option w "lock" gives me hope. the person who made the class did not cover that option. thanks so much!!

Most definitely YES! Just plug in your drive and when you pick the folder to review pick the highest level and then it will scan everything. Then in the automarking settings, you can then get even fancier by asking it to mark the file in the highest or lowest folder in the hierarchy! So many options! 😁
is it better than just using Mac's Photos app 'duplicates' (selection 'All' and then hitting Merge)? I have 15000 duplicates, it tells me. Will be there for days in photo sweeper if I have to pick/look at every one.
Thanks for this very useful intro. I have photos on both Windows and Mac. Is there a similar product on Windows that de-dups on similar as opposed to exact images that you would recommend? Or better yet, is there a product that runs on both which can de-dup based on similar but not exact images?

Yes totally that is what I run all my scans on, depending on how you connect to your NAS if you use a Wifi loop it might be a tiny bit slower than a direct wire connection, but nothing that has stopped me from using it!😁

Absolutely, just drag and drop or select the Photo Library in the single list mods. It won't delete the photos, but put them in an album in you Apple Photos Library that you can then go and delete. Simple 😊
Hey Amanda, After I cleared out my recently deleted I went back to my photo library and my duplicate photos were still in my library. I followed every step the app gave me, what am I doing wrong?
If you are asking it to look at your Apple Photos library you need to find the Photosweeper album that it has created, go in there and delete the photos from there. It doesn't have the ability to delete them from in your Apple Photos Library just pop them in a handy album for you! 😁

Hi , I have been using sweeper for years? Now! But It keeps on saying ! Can delete apple photos in photos? How do I clear the marked photos? Please help
Hey Nettie, that is annoying, just to check are you're using Photo Sweeper on your Apple Photos Catalogue on your Mac computer? If that is the case it should pop all the photos in a to delete album in your Apple Photos Catalogue. If that is not the case let me know a bit more and I am sure we can sort it out!! 😁
